@LegoMatters If comparing between those 3 blasters, the Longshot is better because it uses a direct plunger system with a much larger air volume, which offers more power and range after modding.

my raider is having reloading probelms. whenever i try to put in a new mag, it SOMETIMES "jams" inside the gun, making the trigger and grip cocking mechanism to stop working. I litteraly have to yank out the mag just for it to go back to normal. any suggestions?

Nope, clip-system blasters like the Nerf Raider are designed to work only with streamline darts.

Nerf Longshots are now out-of-production, and its stock availability is diminishing by the day. Your best bet is to scout out the stores around your area and hopefully they still have some in stock, otherwise order them from online stores or source them 2nd hand from other Nerf enthusiasts.

@parkerfooty The Nerf Raider is designed for kids 8+ and above so the priming action is still quite light, but if the person you are getting blaster for is not as strong, you should just get him a Nerf Stampede, it is a motorized spring plunger blaster, just pull the trigger and it automatically fires in burst or full-auto, no priming or pumping needed... and its price should be within your budget.

Its possible... just have to be very careful to cut an even line around the bolt, don't cut it completely in half! :)

It'll all depend on your own feel on whether the cut is deep enough for the bolt to be seperated neatly. Just be careful and keep testing while you are doing the cuts.

@SgNerf I just tried it and epic failed... I cut a little too high and cut off the barrel instead of the joint that attached to the barrel, so I have an nonfunctional bolt sled now. Do you reckon you know your brass mod? that it will work ?

Yup, you could try the brass breech mod, or perhaps just customise a suitable sized petg or pvc pipe to replace the stock bolt. Just make sure all the parts are attached with strong adhesives.

@SgNerf Yeah luckily I've fixed the problem now and I've used epoxy and tape to hold it all together nicely. I'm actually quite happy that I accidentally screwed up the AR removal because now I've got a stronger gun. I'm still working on it though because PVC is a little thicker so I need to sand down the bolt so it will fit in the muzzle of the gun.

Sounds like your friend's Longshot was probably faulty or had a loose air seal. Open it up and check, its usually quite easy to troubleshoot and fix. :)

Well, the 2-letter codes generally indicate the type of N-Strike blaster feature, along with ammo capacity.

For example, the Longshot CS-6, Recon CS-6 & Raider CS-35 belong to the "Clip Shot" category, blasters that use the clip ammo system.

The Maverick REV-6 & Firefly REV-8 belong to the "Revolver" category 'cos they use a rotating barrel system.

Magstrike AS-10 & Rapid Fire AS-20? "Air Shot" category that use pump up air storage systems.

Vulcan EBF-25? "Electronic Belt Feed" category.

Well, i've fired entire drum magazines using the Raider and so far no jams.

I guess it just depends on how users fire it. With the proper firing technique, it should be relatively jam-free. :)

Jam issues are usually related to the condition of the foam darts and magazine used, firing technique also counts.

The Raider's stock ranges are approx. 25-30 ft, around the same as a stock Longshot or Recon.
