Ableton Live for audio recordings and Final Cut for video editing. But with Live's new versions you can do video editings as well. It's pretty basic (only one layer) but it works.
On the PC I prefer Sony Vegas. This is an awesome piece of software.

I've got Reason 4 on my laptop, which I use with a MIDI keyboard, just wondering if I did get the pad, its able to connect to laptop to load beats, samples etc onto it?
It's not boring at all. Quite interesting. Keep it up. I'm also going to get a SP-404 to create some experimental noises along with my guitar and keyboard tunes. I think, the use of three units like these at the same time, as you do it, potentionally brings the danger, that things are confused a bit, since there are so many possibilities and thus ways to go. It's easier to play around and accidently find interesting sounds than to compose a tune seriously. Interesting stuff after all.
