Here's to pisum sativum, one of the founding crops of Western civilization. We owe it to our Sumerian ancestors to validate their decision to quit the whole hunter-gatherer thing by enjoying their vegetable protein of choice.
i don't know why people hate peas... i like them....alot. i really love how sweet they are, and how they almost pop in your mouth.... i you don't like what i said(well typed), and/or don't like it, please just ignore me..... but don't give me thumbs down, i was only pointing my opinion...
I think he's trying to make the point that it's better to try preparing vegetables in a way that kids will like them, rather than cooking them to mush.
I loved peas even as a kid. My mom just nuked them on high for 30 seconds, then a little salt and pepper, yum.
the internet buddy. everything you would need can be found on an ethnic foods website. Yeah I was thinking to go back to Texas and try opening a japanese cafe but the market is just not there. Rednecks and Mexicans don't like to try new foods. So I'm screwed.
Upon further review and watching, I would like to amend my statement. It's a reference to his show on sauce making, in which he makes a sauce for a strip steak to replace the B2 sauce his assistant Thing had been planning to use.
They dont work that well they give you a nice small grind but take ages to get much pepper out of (the one I have anyways). Only good for on the table not for use in the kitchen, well to me anyways.
I'm pretty certain the smoked turkey was done in the Good Eats studio. It looks like the same kitchen as in most of the episodes from the last five years or so.
Yep. It was a bit of trivia on the Behind the Eats special that Alton's home kitchen was featured in one episode. Behind said tidbit was the variation on the Good Eats theme from this episode.
i love alton =D

Peas still in the pod in a miso broth with soba noodles... man i miss the Japanese restaurant in my town. Why'd it have to close? *Sniff*
FrostbittenWolf 2 years ago
soybeans not peas. You can buy miso paste and soba noodles. very cheaply I might add.
tokyodave1982 2 years ago 3
Not where i live. The only place i saw soba noodles was in a specialty aisle for $4.

Cowards. With steady diets of booze and red meat, it's a wonder how any rednecks live long enough to reproduce.
As for the Mexicans, you are just use to tex-mex sterotypes. Believe me, Mexican food goes far beyond burritos.

Dude, what sound effects was he using at 10:00, when the guy is feeding the girl the peas? Sounds pretty hot for a cooking show : D

i think his REAL kitchen is the one used in "little stevies" house. the small one that the parents are in.
SaveTheEmoKidd 3 years ago 4
yeah i think thats it. isint this the same place where he did the smoked turkey for the food network special
Chilax 3 years ago
