The dascratch doesnt have effects built in, It its just a controller for softwares like Traktor, Serato, or Ableton. If the software has effects then you can controll those with the stanton.
I have been watching many videos on DaScratch SCS.3d. I am looking for a software to use. I will be using DaScratch's vinyl scratching feature a lot. But I have yet to see anybody scratch with Serato Scratch Live. I only see scratching being done with Traktor Pro. Can you scratch with Serato Scratch Live, or will I need to get Traktor Pro to use the vinyl scratch feature? Please Help. Thanks
I'm using two 3d's and traktor pro. Easily mixing and scratching. It took about a month of practice to learn to switch between modes on the Dascratch, but now it's cake baby. You could very easily do everything that two decks and a mixer can do with JUST ONE DASCRATch. If that doesn't get your attention then you need to switch to some stronger coffee or somthin.
Do you need an external soundcard for prelisten music and for example to connect it to external mixer and loudspeakers? Or you just connect it from the laptop's audio output?
Hey Ty can you do i video review with its scratch capability.. i mean the unit is called DaScratch and i can't find a single vid showcasing its scratching capability. I if contented with it i will be picking up a unit this week.. also is it possible we can get a hard core review of the SCS.1d.. im debating on that vs the Denon S5500 the .3d will be the hold me down til i can decide from the other two units
cool.. thank you just saved me huge head ache of having to ship back a product that served me nooooo purpose..what are the chances of getting a SCS.1d review..they seam amazing.. but have a hefty price for a Stanton Product..is the really the Best Midi controller on the market and is the new Laser sensor taking the scratching capability to the ranks of a true 1200
There is software called darouter that ships with the SCS.3d. It has serato presets. That takes the MIDI in from the SCS.3D and maps it to whatever software you choose.
i just got one of these and i still cant get it to work, installing one of these is a total nightmare. how do you get to the midi option under set up in serato?
no, its a midi controller. That can be used with pretty much any midi compatible software. (most dj and production programs). Don't have to use serato, can use torq, traktor scratch, mixvibes, vdj or even use it with ableton. Though serato is their main software they demonstrate it with.
A serato box or compatible mixer with Serato built in (ttm57 or mp4)is ALWAYS required to run serato. The DaScratch is just a midi controller. If you run serato without the box or compatible mixer it will just say hardware disconnected.
does it works with serato sl3 in the 3th deck?????please let me know thanks

@djrolando83 There should be a beta driver on Stanton's website that will allow you to use the SCS.3d with the 3rd deck.

can u still have one controller if u use traktor scratch pro when using all 4 decks? or will 2 be needed?

IIRC 4 decks control requires 2 SCS3D

DJSunriZe 3 years ago
You would need a mixer to blend between 2 sources - OR software that lets you mix with a single output.

There's no profile that lets you scratch with Serato - only traktor scratch right now.
