@KsECD The "Some... Where" bit of Over The Rainbow goes up an octave (think it's G to G). When Brian (presenter) played the notes from 0:24 to 0:27, it sounded like the start of the song - to me, anyway.
I hope that clarifies my cryptic comment for you...
Nice vid guyz~ I was a wondering do, i seen some ukulele players play these big ukulele's the size of a guitar and it had six individual strings. What type of ukulele is that??
I know that it doesn't do any harm to my ukulele, but to me, it seems ... just bad :) But that's cool that Kamaka come with them in already from the factory.
normally they dont make low "A"s because the low "g" already serves as the base line for an uke. if you want, you can try put a guitar "g" string on an uke and tune it to an "A" but it wouldnt be as playable i guess. kanileas are well braced to handle any string tension but im not sure about other ukes
ive got a pink Mahalo 4 string! ;) great and really cool instrument, i love it!

So I'm guessing that an 8 string is more for chords, as opposed to individual notes?

Whoa, that first ukulele has really great tone

do they make "low A's" only in a nylon string? I wouldn't want to put a wound string into an ukulele that costs upwards of 500 dollars.
SpecialUkulele 2 years ago
Aquila makes a set of strings for a six string Uke where all the strings are made of Nylgut, they sound great.
Putting a wound A will do no harm to your uke people do it all the time. The Kamaka comes from the factory as such

As I said do not worry the wound string will not harm your Ukulele.Kamaka ,G string ,Lanikai and kala all use them !
