  • good stuff meroki

  • This is how I'm getting Chun li thighs. So far so good.... slow but steady improvement! Sumo squats FTW!!

  • He got some sexy legs....

  • thats more of an athletic squat, sumo squats are when you spread the floor with your feet.

  • jesus, i just finished doing 120 lunges and now seeing you do this makes my legs hurt even more XD

  • ya know i see people doing these in my gym sometimes maby ill give um a shot next leg day

  • Wow Phenominal!

  • I DO THIS SQUAT WITH 240 KG

  • i did this with light weight and i felt a sharp pain in my left inner thigh :(

  • @soumya86 yeah sharp pain in the left inner thigh is usually a sign of an underlying issue :-(

  • The wider stance and point the toes outwards brings the inner thighs into play.

  • what if im a teen is it bad for my back because im young

  • Doing squats properly shouldn't put any real stress on your back. And even in an exercise that is supposed to work your back, ie deadlifts, your only really at risk if your form is bad or your ego gets in the way.

  • It looks great, I'm just not sure I understand how the movement is different from a regular barbell squat (besides, of course, holding the dumbell like that).

  • I'm not entirely sure, but I believe the wider stance allows some different muscles to kick in, possibly your inner thighs. I'd have to try it.

  • I thought it was excellent

  • Do people ever do sumo squats on a smith machine?

  • You could do it. However, you would need to place your feet forward so the bar would not bend your chest forward.

  • I thought a sumo squat was wider based than the stance this guy had.

  • i think slightly wider than that i do

  • yeah sure you can.... its fine

  • @someguy9008 Smith machines suck big time.

  • @lhp70 while I agree that smith machines kill kittens, if you're trying to isolate a particular muscle group, they have their benefits. I use the smith machine to supplement free weight military press and incline press to isolate those particular muscles. apparently a lot of pro bodybuilders do this but personally, I stick to as much free weight as possible.

  • Neat variation, thanks.
