I watched this movie many times as a child. This scene actually contains a profound message from Mark Twain. If you truly understand this segment, you'll find it quite thought provoking. I'm not surprised that most only concentrate on the "scary" & "freakish" nature exhibited in the video. To some extent, a lot of these comments serve to prove the points made in the story of the MYSTERIOUS STRANGER. The ideas & words of Mr. Twain were masterfully brought to life by the maker of this film.

I believe the point of this video is to show us what it would mean if human beings did not have intrinsic value. Satan does not value life except as it potentially benefits him, so this is a glimpse of what reality could be like if Satan were the god of the universe.
