Nice... I have been making a personal Best Of Movie Soundtracks collection for Xmas Presents. Here are a few I believe are "Not to be missed" if you are serious about Movie Soundtracks: The Great Train Robbery by Jerry Goldsmith (just perfect), Love Theme from Blade Runner by Vangelis, Last Tango in Paris by Gato Barbieri, the Overture for North By Northwest by Bernard Hermann and just about any of the Nino Rota/Fellini movies (Giulietta Degli Spiriti is my favorite).

Some very interesting scores here, you've got some good taste.

The scores for The Hours, Eternal Sunshine, American Beauty, Cast Away, Amelie and Requiem are my faves among there. All amazing, it's a shame Eternal Sunshine, Amelie, Cast Away and Requiem weren't even Oscar nominated but whatever.

Requiem for a Dream is by far the best score ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Requiem for a Dream one, is beautiful. That whole soundtrack is amazing and captures all the moods in that movie incredibly well. If you have not yet seen this movie, I strongly suggest you do. Although, I find myself always feeling very unsettled after watching it.

All of these songs are great! Requiem, Eternal Sunshine and American Beauty are all fantastic but I love them all.

The scene in American Beauty where he shows her the video of the wind blowing around the plastic bag and leaves, made me start crying. The combination of the beautiful music, and the haunting video was so powerful.

I always loved the American Beauty soundtrack. So peaceful and moving. I think the music to The Hours is amazing and really suits the film. The same goes for the Last Samurai. I haven't seen Public Enemies yet but that extract seemed really moody and emotional to me.

There are also a lot of good themes for video games surprisingly enough, including Mass Effect and Metal Gear Solid. Harry Gregson-Williams also composed for Deja Vu and Chicken Run and for the upcoming Prince Of Persia.

Tough to choose a favourite coz this is a great compilation, I love Zimmer, Newman, Silvestri & Horner. Requiem for a Dream obviously a classic, also love Mansell's Fountain soundtrack. I'll have to go with Dances With Wolves because the whole score is beautiful.
