Just for the beginning quote, it's not his signature KE-1MF.

1. The KE-1 had his signature at the top, this just says "Made In USA" so it's just a custom for him.

2. The KE-1MF had gold hardware, and a gold signature under the lacquer/on the paint of the body, as a limited run for "Musicians Friend." They also had a KV-1MF.

Marty is amazing because its not always about speed, but not always about not playing slow either. Its not about playing exotic scales vs. your standard 7 tone scales. Its not about sweeping vs. alternate or economy picking or any of all that bs everyone argues about! Being well rounded is key!

What makes a good guitar player is a COMBINATION of all of these!!!

another underrated example of masterclass guitar wizardy is Rusty Cooley, known for his 7 string sweep picking, he is unbelievably fast, however he learned how to play fast (like Marty) from classical and jazz, Marty Friedman is still to this day one of my favourite guitarists of all time and forever will be for his very diverse style of playing!Rock On Marty!!!!!

He uses the JB pickup from Seymour Duncan. It has a really awesome sound. It's most pronounced on Countdown to Extinction and on...also on a couple of his solo albums. I don't know if he still uses them or not, his newest albums sound like he's using something else.

Marty definately has some metal and neoclassical metal influence. It's undeniably. His earliest successes were Cacophony and Megadeth - how could he exist without metal? It's not the entirety of his playing, but I consider him a metal guitarist because it's the simplest term for adequately describing his style, even if it does use strange phrasing.
