I hate to use the word custie. But the dude laid it out there pretty close to the reality. The kids know what is going on, and feel comfortable with the local economy and scene. The custies or newcomers that don't feel as comfortable are going to make the kids money. THIS is why I stopped going to Phish shows. In the early/mid 90's, I had an obsession with Phish's music and attended every concert I could. I certainly partied and had a great time, but when the SCENE became the draw for most, I got a bit fed up. (Also, phish concurrently began an era of suck, in my humble opinion.) Hats off to the dude at 4:00for being the only one who talked about their music.
