  • Best piano intro since the beginning of time.

  • holy shit this is amazing....

  • Why is this the only dong not on the album??

  • The Doobie Brothers are in my Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and many others here, I am sure.......

  • i like,,,doobie,,,,,,,,,,great music......

  • Amazing - this version has less than 30k views. It should be 3 mln at least. Incredible band!

  • @2hansome It's because everyone who wants to watch it buys the DVD so they keep it playing non-stop!

  • Pat Simmons now sings #10 on current set list. Michael McDonald used to do it.

  • Skylark now sings #10 on current set list. Michael McDonald used to do it.

  • @LapisLee Wait! Are you saying that Skylark is back touring with the Doobies???? PLEASE SAY YOU AREN'T MISTAKEN!! No offense to the guy that has been filling in for Skylark, but Skylark brings a presence to the state that just KICKS IT. Please... is he back playing again??

  • @BigChiefLtd1 I was just basing it on the Wiki article, but I'm fairly certain they introduced him when we saw them. Check out the rest of my videos taken at The Doobies.

  • Patented harmony. Nobody has the soulful sound of McDonald. JMO

  • Ok, here's how I see things. It's pretty hard to beat a "voice" like Michael Mc Donald, but,,,,,,, "these guys to me, still "got the goods". I feel like Pat Simmons is pouring his heart out, along with his expertise and all the rest of the Doobies precision, expertise, sencerity, honesty, and all the rest of the "goods" that to me make these guys un-stop-able, and then when you add that pianio player Guy Allison----- "holy mackeral saphire", you "got a combination". Marc Trainor.

  • @marctrainor I'm not really fond of Michael McDonalds' voice (although he is a fabulous musician and songwriter) and I enjoyed this version even more with Patrick singing.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but when I hear live music from a phenominal band, such as the Doobie Brothers, I get such a high.....can anyone relate to what I'm saying?

  • Tears in my eyes. This is a band. With the capital B. Neat, humble and so rockin.

  • @ jerryrigging shut the hell up mmd is a humble man

  • Fabulous Bass Player Skylark = Tiran Porter, No Michael McDonald = :( Song still sounded good though.

  • SWEET SAX!!!!!XD

  • Comment removed

  • The black guy used to do long train running when they had mcdonald and not TJ.

  • Without a doubt the best version I've heard of this great song!

  • @MrMudpuppy1 simmons does a pretty good job filling in , to be sure.

  • 4:05 is when it gets awesome!!

  • @Shadowbudd Guess I understand you're point ;-) Marc Russo saxskills are awesome.

  • so much better without the showboat McDonald

  • awsome!

  • @MamoruFujimoto1995 Like Pat says - top guy Guy Allison plays keyboards!

  • This is the epitome of 70's Rock 'N Roll.Thank you Doobie Brothers for letting me grow up with you. i have all your "good" albums. And yes,Michael McDonald will always be a "Doobie Brother".Thanks to you Patrick,Tom,and "All The Doobie Brothers!!"

  • Simmonds is GOD ! What a group ..well done USA

  • Man, these guys are rock gods....fantastic. Hall of Fame does not exist without the Doobies..

  • Another amazing post by cottonbuds2005. Oustanding quality as usual.

    Thanks !

  • unreal this is great !!!!

  • I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to pull this one off successfully. Michael McDonald's voice is so unique that I thought any attempts by anyone else to lead this song would end up being little more than a parody, but they acquitted themselves nicely. They sound enough like Michael that it gives the song a familiarity, but both Patrick Simmons and the other guy made this song their own with their vocal performance. This was wonderful to see.

  • The greatest vindication for these guys having not been inducted into the H of F is the fact that they care more about their fans, and the music, and putting on a great show! (see the video) These are my words, not theirs, but I don't think they have the attitude of "We know how great we are" or "screw the H of F". I'm sure they will be honored when they are inducted. I just think the H of F is not that important to them. I thank God they are still making great music and dread the day they stop!

  • Love the Dobbies & love this song

  • isn't this a chrystal clear sound .. and a great song?!

  • on new years eve, we were hoopering and hollering at guy's ;intro, he loved it.

  • we were jumping so high by the second half of this song, simmons was jumping.

what a great time in tempe az on new years eve.

  • I agree, BigChief. In fact, I live not far from the Hall, but I won't go there until they come to their senses. The Doobies music just makes ya feel great!

  • My Dad turned me on to The Doobie Brothers back in the late 70's when I was about 10, and I've been rockin' down the highway ever since. I saw these guys here in Jersey at The PNC Arts Center with The Allman Brothers this summer, and man...they rocked the roof right off the place! They just keep gettin' better and better.

  • No arguement from me. The should've been in years ago.

  • There will be NO credibility to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until they get over themselves and Induct the hardest working band in Rock and Roll... the Doobie Brothers.

These guys have been rockin down the highway for DECADES and deserve to be in the R&R H of F more than 50% of the bands that are there. I refuse to set foot in the Hall of Fame until I know I'll see these guys represented there.

  • @BigChiefLtd IKR?? they will induct Bon Jovi (a band with no recognizable merit whatsoever) but not these guys?

  • @BigChiefLtd You are so right on the money BigChief! These poor guys have been passed over for some of the most ridiculous names that actually were elected to the R&RHOF. C'mon...Madonna?....really?...there are others but you know what I mean.....

  • @1pottercounty Yeah, the Rock and Roll Hall Of Shame will probably induct "LOBO," "Teagarden and VanWinkle" and other one-hit wonders before the Doobies, proving the nomination team doesn't have the balls to induct the best damn touring band in the land.

The hall is still bringing in acts that don't deserve it. WTF People?

  • @BigChiefLtd

You took the words right out of my mouth!! Why are they not there and ABBA is? Seriously!! AND they WORKED their way up in the San Jose "honky tonks" starting from Pat's garage! No frills, no gimmicks, just pure, raw, organic and true talent!

  • @BigChiefLtd You are 100% correct!
