I started with store-bought rubs (saw a nationally-placed BBQ team say they use store-bought, because there are plenty of good ones ... just watch the salt in some), and one of the best ones that I found was very black compared to the others (mostly red.) So, I checked the ingredients; first one was coffee. Now I use it in my own rubs.
A lot of this rub is pretty standard for paprika-based rubs with much of the paprika replaced with coffee. You can change the % of each to preference.
2 tbs pepper 2 tbs coriander 1 tbs cardamom 1/2 tbs cinnamon 1 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/8 cup salt 1/8 cup paprika 1 tbs mustard seeds 1 tbs ground chile powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp ginger 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp marjaram A great rub with mustard seed if you cant find some of these spices at a chain grocery store you can always substitute with something of your own liking
I knew about the coffee mixture for many years but that dosent mean you guys did not have a great dry rub recipe. Thanks for posting "your biggest fan Bobby K "
I can hear a cold in your voice. I make a bbq sauce with coffee in it that is yummy on chicken. Take good care of that cold now ! Keep safe and warm ! All the best from the prairies !
if you put it in a zip lock bag why not make it in the bag

For a lighter rub good for like sea food.
Take some green or white tea leaves, no bags.
Some sort of mint leaves, a little Salt, sugar and some citrus fruit zest. Grind it up. I use pistol and mortar.
BBQWeb My only complaint with your videos is that I gain weight just watching them.
They all look great and you make it look so easy, then when we follow you - it is that easy.
The trick is Low and Slow!!! MMM - MMM
