Axl n Izzy where childhood friends, so was Steven and Slash, Duff took contact to slash trough a magazine (dont remember which) The name guns n roses comes from the two band LA Guns and Hollywood roses, the "guns" thingu did Tracii Guns come up with trough his last name, Guns n Roses where from the begining just a way for Axl n Izzy to play together agien not like something serious but it turned out to become the best band in the world!!!!

@HeavyMetalBeliever yes, it is true that Axl did act a bad way, but did you also now that he was raped by his real father when he was a small kid? and cous of that Axl got some mental disturbance from that on. when they found out why he acted like he did all the time Axl started going on medication, but that medication made him unable to think clearly so he could not write any more songs, so he stopped taking it and got his bad behavior back. there is reasons why he acted like he did!

Axls real name is Bill Murray if i remember right, but he took the name rose from his real father (dont ask me why) Stevens life got fucked up when he joined GnR mate. well it was not so normal before either, but at least his dad did not stick his dick in his butt. Slash and Steven where both childhood friends and they did everything together when they were young.

Also, a common misconception about Guns N' Roses is that it was named after Axl Rose, but Axl actually changed his last name to Rose after Hollywood Rose formed. He had always liked the name Rose.
