I think the KOF fighter that went through the most changes is Athena. Because every game, she changed her clothing. Robert is a close 2nd because of appearences based on the AOF games, like for example Robert AOF3 style in, I think, KOF 96 and 97, cool stuff.

BTW, Robert is a kick ass fighter! Ora Ikimase!

Takuma's NeoMax @ 9:16 is the same as one of Gouki's (Akuma) Super combos. Is that SNK's retaliation for Dan's Ultra II (Haoh Gadouken)?

At least "Akuma" is part of TAkuma's name :)

@amaj83 I don't exactly think so. The NeoMax is simaler, but this one is a grab, where Akuma just did his super and came down on the opponent. I also think Takuma came before Akuma, because Takuma is Mr. Karate from Art of Fighting.

@TheAcidHairball Even if its a grab, the sequence and animation look almost identical. Btw those running gags are taken light-heartedly by both SNK and Capcom, I actually like those little gag wars between Art of fighting & SF (even though SNK playmore went over the top in KOF2001 with Yuri having BOTH Shin Shouryuken & RAGING DEMON lol). Dan from Capcom has AoF written all over his face, and Capcom've never forgotten that when they added his Ultra2 in SSF4 lol. :)

@amaj83 Actually, even Takuma's real name precedes Akuma (Takuma's "real" debut is in AOF2, which predates SSFIIT). In addition to that, the name "Akuma" was Capcom of USA's idea, and Akuma's Japanese name is Gouki. SNK's history is chock-full of these "not what it looks like" moments...

Too many 'ratta-tat-ta-' hits and not enough POWER. Even Takuma's max SDM - the only single hit super - does less damage than the other machine gun, pseudo combo moves.

So miss Art of Fighting... ='(

Takuma...........he should've been back. KOF w/o him is like kool aid with no sugar. I can see now that Team AOF is gonna be the most used team.

Sidenote: why is Takuma so short in this one? And isn't that Saisyu's fight stance from earlier games?

Oh shit....Robert's Kyokugen-Kick-Dance is back.....I like the variation on it where he high-knee kicks and pretty much shatters your guard. Also liking the small touches on Takuma like the pose after the EX Zanretsu-Ken. SNK Playmore stuck their foot in this one, for real.

I see Corner rape comboes in Robert's future.  Although I like his normal version of moves better since he does that cool fix his vest thing.

Takuma is gonna be fun for me. First time I've seen him.
