Clearly he does not know how to drive a jeep with Quadradrive, even if 4 Hi - you just keep feed the power and the viscous differential tightens the slipping wheel.

Either that or its not been service with additive any time recently.

@sailus09 as far as i know lockers and limited slip work kind of the same but the lockers are for heavy duty , i don´t know exactly what the quadradrive system uses , i guess 3 lockers ; one in the front dif other in the rear diff and , a central diff like the land rovers , because the system can put all 100% traction in one wheel , but in many markets the quadradrive was optional

@1ownjoo2 Its a Diesel engine! We only got a few years just recently in the states of the CRD (Diesel option) and they just discontinued that option for the US. They have tons of diesel options in other European countries, not only for Jeep but for all types of manufactures. Diesel sales in Europe I believe have out sold gasoline engine variants for quite a while now!

@JrAdrock5447 Yes, Diesels have been outselling gasolines for the last ten years or so. Except from sports cars, any other car category has, at least, 70% sales in diesel form. In Southern Europe Diesel market share might get as far as 85%. Some cars aren't really avaible in gasoline (meaning you must wait a year or so for the gasoline one or get the diesel one right now)

@1ownjoo2 It's the usual sound from this 3.1 turbodiesel engine 4 stroke, 4 cilinder, 140 bhp and aprox 400Nm torque. I think it was Jeep manufactured, but it could be Detroit deisel. It was replaced by a 2.7 turbodiesel, 4 stroke, 5 cilinder engine producing 163bhp and the same torque manufactured by Mercedes-Benz

@rsala23 Actually the 3.1 is a VM diesel (Italian made). They do truck engines as well as some isuzu / jeep etc.

Not a good engine to have in the WJ. Very inefficient and prone to failures. the 2.7 is a much better option.

@Dav86Rib He made it up the hill?? What isn't there to trust? I have a 2000 Jeep GC with Quadra Drive and the 4.7. It's amazing off road with the only limiting factor being tires and clearance (if it's stock). No land Cruiser that I'm aware of (stock) has a T Case or Axles that can match the GC with Quadra Drive.

No kidding. You would be doing that even with a stock Jeep IMO, but given that you have 20-30k left over from buying Jeep instead of Toyota there is no chance a Cruiser is going to outperform.

The Cruiser is meant for the Serengeti or deserts, and it is awesome in those places, but on trails the Cruiser's ass is too fat to begin with! Ha, sorry, I've just had it up to here with these Toyota-fanboys. Face it guys, you want to be us, but you can't be "us" until you get a Jeep!

esas grand cherokee de españa la mayoria son version diesel de 3 litros. aqui en suramerica la mayoria son las 4.7 v8 a gasolina que empujan mucho mas... y la ultima version si tiene bloqueo de diferencial

frankrr513, ami me parece que ese no tiene QuadraDrive....ese solo es uno de los QuadraTrac....sin variloc en los differenciales. Hay mucho differenzia entre los dos systemas.
