  • This video is from Sylvie's concert in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. This very memorable concert took place on October 6, 1990, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This was the first time that Sylvie returned to her homeland since she was a little girl. I wish I could have been there! However, I also went back there less than a year later to visit my family and this was an extremely moving experience for me.

This song is the story of her childhood and about how she escaped from the terror of communism in Bulgaria at the age of 8 with her parents and her brother. This song has a very special meaning to me because it is also my story: I also fled from communist Bulgaria at the age of 6 with my family.
