I see people saying go see luongos saves they are way better..but the funny thing is that when I search luongo I watch him giving up 8 goals on 8 shots against boston. guy cant stop a cock from going in his ass...CAREY CAREY CAREY
carey price is certainly not playing to his full potential. nevertheless, he's by no means overrated- at least in my opinion. he was absolutely AMAZING on team Canada and has played exceptionally well for the habs, at least until he started getting injured.
i agree he was amazing on team canada but he is not one of the best in the nhl. there is a lot better then him. he has horrible rebound control and is horrible at handleing the puck. watch the next game when he plays and just focus on him. you will be able to find alot of things that he needs to work on. he needs alot of work in my opinion to be a star goalie.
rebounds, perhaps? stick handling???? you must be outta ur mind!! even don cherry commented on how well he handles the puck. during last years playoff, they did a close up on him during practice and warm-up. cherry was floored at how well price would perform the same stick handling drills as the players.
as far as needing to work on a few things- practice makes perfect! he's only 22 and playing at a calibre beyond you or i. prices has tremendous raw talent and all give him time cuz it's not easy playing in montreal- the pressure is overwhelming!
He's on a slump, now, but who hasn't been ? While I usually hate all the comparisons with Patrick Roy, even he needed a great backup in his 1st few years in the NHL. Whether the Habs get a good backup or Halak finally steps up the way he did vs Colorado, last night, and the Habs might have a great goalie duo for years to come.
Price might be overhyped, but he's not talentless.
you and me both hate the comparisons! the only goalie i'd ever even consider to be even remotely close to Roy is Brodeur. He's proven time and time again that he can compete at an NHL and international level. Despite Montreal's performance as of late, I really can't blame Halak. He's one of the most underrated back-up goalies in the league!
Despite an embarassing loss to Calgary and Edmonton, I think it was the defense that was to blame. Markov been playing like garbage while Kovalev, Kostitsyn and Koivu haven't been scoring. Halaks' situation is another example of offensive and defensive break-down.
ok even though it technically wasn't a save that was absolutely insane and haven't seen another goalie do anything like that since. But everybody needs to stop with the whole next roy crap! roy was the best goalie to ever play the game and had 10 times the better rookie season then he is having and won a stanley cup his rookie year which the habs stan no chance of doing this year... o ya and GO BRUINS!!!
Great reaction by price...yes it wouldn't be in the net but so close that it will be easy to take the rebound and score...nice save carey ...HABS x 100
what? wide? did you even watch the video? holmstrem was on the doorstep and if price missed it he was puttin it in for sure. amazing effort by price. and price was a major reason the habs made it to the second round play-offs last year - so 9 outta 10 times he saves it, loser.
Watch from the 1:00 minute mark. He makes the save, then it was going WIDE OF THE GOAL before he got his stick to it. Holmstrom was cross checked and was likely not going to make contact with the puck.
And Price was the reason why the Habs didn't reach the final last year. Boston almost took MTL out!!!
check the records loser, price played hockey over 2 years nonstop. He was tired, that's all. Do you know he has only 19 years old and he's in the top 5 of the best goaler rookies.
For your information, bruins lost 5-0 the last game. They are maybe a better team this year, but it's nothing compare to habs. I will laugh of you in front of my tv when habs will win wednesday against your bruins.
Actually, i'm a Leaf fan...and yes MTL humiliated the Leafs Saturday. But, the Leafs were on a "Cup hangover" after beating Detroit, That's our excuse and i'm sticking to it lol I have nothing against Price...he's fantastic. Something that i was hoping for Pogge to be. But, Gainey made a mistake trading Huet leading to the playoffs. Risking the Cup...or keep Huet? Was it really worth it? MTL will likely trade Halak at the deadline for another forward to go deep in the playoffs.
wow shows how dumb you are. watch the god damn replay from detroit's view. the puck was going about 2 feet wide, yes it LOOKED like a great save but no he was NOT EVEN CREDITED WITH A SAVE
they even have the overhead view on here. OMG YOU ARE FUCKIN DUMB. OR JUST BLIND? watch the whole video. and learn hockey. a SHOT ON GOAL is a puck shot by the opposing team and if the puck is ON NET and the goalie stops it, that would be a save. if the puck isnt on net = no shot which means... NO FUCKING SAVE
thats like if the goalie is by the boards and gets hit with the puck they call it a save?
no need to get all worked up over nothing. plus, how can you call canadians stupid when the majority of the players that have played on detroit are canadian.
Holy i knew nhl 11 & 12 stole this save!!!!!

It was going WIDE....and Holmstrom was cross checked from behind and probably was going to miss it anyways.
9 out of 10 times Price would miss the puck entirely...he got lucky.
