  • Many years ago I took violin lessons. This is the only song that I can still play....of course, I can't play as well as this guy. Very good, enjoyed it.

  • During summer evenings on the front porch while the sun going down beyond the west horizon, my parents played this tune that we as kids danced to on the lawn......so dear to my childhood memories.

  • their is no diff. between violin and a fiddle they are the same thing. really fiddleing is a type of way to play the violin useing double stops :)

  • Glad to hear you liked it. Thanks for your comment. I remember watching a fiddler play this tune at an old-time fiddler's jamboree over 30 years ago. It was mesmerizing. I had just started on the fiddle and remember thinking I'd lever learn that tune in a million years of practice.

  • oh i went out to milk and didn't know how milked a horse instead of a cow ol' red rooster hoppin' on one leg laughed so hard that he laid an egg (courhs)-> turkey in the straw haw haw haw turkey in the hay hey hey hey roll em up twist em up a high tuck a haw and strinking up a tune called tturkey in the straw (that was the first verse)

  • My grandfather used to play the fiddle and i remember it well from my youth. He passed away in 1998 but he inspired me to pick up music, and he never could read a single note of sheet music, it was all learned by ear.
