At last! Brezhnev playing Turkey!! Sorry pal, just couldn't resist. You do resemble Brezhnev from a distance :) Oh, and the technique - quite nice, good job!
I always wondered if there is any piece of music an Ice Cream Truck driver likes less than this one. But if you don't do that job, this is really fun to listen to and play.
nice really i know this music and i have a demo on it on my synthesizer but you can play it even better and i am not just saying this to say i ve been to music lesson crtain time so i know the tunes of music so i know wath i am tlking about lol
Many years ago I took violin lessons. This is the only song that I can still play....of course, I can't play as well as this guy. Very good, enjoyed it.
During summer evenings on the front porch while the sun going down beyond the west horizon, my parents played this tune that we as kids danced to on the lawn......so dear to my childhood memories.
you're a great fiddler! lol i looked up this tune because i needed a tune to sing along with and you helped! you're not as fast as the voice singing the capitals song :)
My God, you play like that and you can't read music? That's incredible. How did you learn to play this beautifully and to play this tune without a score sheet?
Yeeeehaw! This version made me want to get up & start square dancin' by myself! Wonderful job! Very well done! Watching this marvelous clip really made my dad! Thanks for posting it! :)
Glad to hear you liked it. Thanks for your comment. I remember watching a fiddler play this tune at an old-time fiddler's jamboree over 30 years ago. It was mesmerizing. I had just started on the fiddle and remember thinking I'd lever learn that tune in a million years of practice.
Beautiful music... lovely setting. Crickets & locusts chirping right along with the wind blowing thru the trees and the windchimes. Thank you for sharing!
@Slashfan90210 There's Montgomery, Alabama south of Helena, Montana, then there's Denver, Colorado under Boise, Idaho. Texas has Austin, then we go north to Massachusettes, Boston and Albany, New York. Tallahassee, Florida and Washington, D.C. Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Nashville, Tennessee.
That was so nice... Not only are you obviously an AMAZING player, but it had such a nice feel to it... makes me reminiscence on times in Arkansas with my "folks"... thanks so much!
oh i went out to milk and didn't know how milked a horse instead of a cow ol' red rooster hoppin' on one leg laughed so hard that he laid an egg (courhs)-> turkey in the straw haw haw haw turkey in the hay hey hey hey roll em up twist em up a high tuck a haw and strinking up a tune called tturkey in the straw (that was the first verse)

Well and sweetly played old man. We used to sing some words:
Well, I had a little chicken and he wouldn't lay an egg
So I poured hot water up and down his leg
And the little chicken hollered and the little chicken begged
And the little chicken laid me a hard boiled egg
Yes, it was definitely he not she (I never got this until just now)
