Ma mum linda mackie (mcgregor) was born on 31st July 1962 to James (jim) and Elizabeth Mcgregor from Lochore. Will have to show her this to see if anyone she knows is in it. Thanks for posting. Xoxoxox
Another great film. I must have been at this Gala and I think my Dad would have been in the parade - he was a policeman. We lived in Bank Street. Do you have any more films from this time that you haven't posted yet? I'd love to see them.

@curlsdiva This film was taken on 14th July 1962 - one day after the famous "Night of the Long Knives" when Macmillan sacked 7 members of his cabinet. An iconic moment in British political history. Unfortunately the film clips of Lochgelly were only taken when my dad had a few feet of film left over from our holidays which is a pity. I do still have some material dating from 1981 and 1982 of Lochgelly which I intend to upload. Thanks for the comments by the way
Grandad's allotment backed onto the park. About 10 m from the gates.
You might remember him from your schooldays. He was the first lollypop man in Lochgelly.
I still have cousins in the area. Most of them getting on in years though. the only one i have any contact with is Jim Fergus He now lives in Glenrothes.
I lived at Laucherhead and wasn't to often in that "neck of the woods". My gran (Emma Wilson) used to live at 8 Hamilton Street and I can vaguely remember my mum (Catherine Mathewson nee Wilson) taking me along Zetland Place and up Hamilton Street.
Can remember the Lollipop Man at the top of the West School lane but can't recall his name. Have little contact with Lochgelly though send Gordon Malvenan a Christmas card each year
Yes, that is the West End park. The film was made on 7th July 1962. It was the first cine film my dad ever made. Unfortunately all the clips are far too brief. But filming in those days was a novelty and expensive. More historical Lochgelly clips are in the pipeline
