  • He reminds me of Dr Phil here!

  • Love it!!!

  • freakin joe pass. hes amazing for being able to incorperate melodies on chords. and on a guitar

  • This is what Jazz Guitar is all about. When theres no need for any backing to make it complete and hide any lack of talent, then you know its good.

  • joe pass is legend. Enough said. For the two people that disliked this video. I have to words for you: Deez Nuts

  • @graffitinj My thoughts exactly. It's one thing to not listen to this music, but to take the extra step and dislike this? It just blows my mind. And those 2 people should blow something else...

  • 2 people were hoping for a face-melting solo.

  • Definitely the greatest jazz guitarist in history followed by Barney Kessel. Wes and Django overrated. Joe is in my top 5 of all time greatest guitarists.

  • G.O.G. God of guitar

  • Oh my God; he´s so, so amazing, simply one of a kind!!!

  • found this song through eyeearbrain.t35.com

    cool sounds

  • He plays the most beautiful chords! You can know all the chords in the world, but if you don't know how to use them it's worthless! Joe Pass is a perfect example of a guitar player the know's how to use his chords!

  • awesome moustache

  • @Murphinator72 Best comment by far.

  • Thanks, Bonito...love the music :)

    hugs and kisses :)

  • Joe was/is in a league all his own. He's a one man band. When I hear him play, I waffle between being totally inspired and wanting to sell my gear for a Harley. He makes it look so easy!!!

  • The Jazz legend Joe pass channelling the divine through music; MYSTICALLY MYSTIFYING!

ALL guitarists of any style should listen to JP!

    Sorely missed, but forever admired.

  • Saw him in Miami at the Gold Dust Lounge in 1979. A mystical experience.

  • Joe Pass Vive!!!!

  • 2 people are silly

  • 1:12 love it!

  • It's a d'angelico new yorker. Ultra cool and out of most kids price range.

  • mystifying, and amazing Joe Pass - the best finger style jazz guitarist i ever known

  • wow joe pass .. i know since 1984, very great play guitar..i like it!!

  • i know joe pass from my father...,get well soon pa'

  • Dude I would totally go bald to be able to play like that

  • @whitevipe309 Dude - I've gone bald TRYING to play like that!!!!

  • And such a modest and cool guy. In one of his tutorial videos he said 'If it's too difficult, I won't play it''!!!!

    Truly love him!

  • @whitevipe309 I am bald and I still cant play like that...

  • @whitevipe309 He played so good his hair fell off

  • Joe Pass fue un gran guitarrista que dejo un legado grandisimo para los que somos sus seguidores, música de primera...gracias

  • I saw this guy live in the late 70s and what a guitarist. He came up in the interlude and spoke to my mate and I. What a real genuine guy he was.

Definately the master of jazz guitar for sure.

They talked of who was going to fill his shoes after his passing. But who could"???

  • @Bluesnote2010 George Benson.

  • Joe Pass.My god.Watching him play seems like you could learn to play a guitar in a day.Looks so effortless.Love it...Enes

  • Shame the version in the Joe Pass chord solo book's not more like this one. This has far more flow and 'swing' about it.

  • para mí, Joe Pass es el mejor guitarrista de la historia... su música e interpretación es, sencillamente, sublime...

  • He is great virtuos guitarrist...

  • THE ABSOLUTE BEST...MAY HE REST IN PEACE...MAY HIS MUSIC LIVES ON!

  • one of the best Italian immigrants ever

  • Wow this guy is amazing .... does anybody know the guitar he is using is some sort of custom job?

  • @9058577349 looks to me like a D'Aquisto.

  • Joe makes it sound like 3 guitars are playing the same song, Rhythm, solo and nice complimenting chords.I get both down on myself watching Joe, but I pick up the guitar to try and get better...

  • Challenging! Never gonna sing it like i did before.....

  • WOW!

  • Yeah, just like that.

  • Beautiful performance !

  • Beautiful!! Did you learn to play classical first?

  • @chicago911susy Haha...do you now expect Joe Pass to answer? :D:D

  • @chicago911susy Joe.."I am dead....but no, i studied sitar, then moved on to vibraphones before switching to, and mastering, the venerable 6 string electric"..

  • @glueforall hahahahah

  • SHOULD HAVE KEEP YOUR STRAT

  • MUSIC TO SOOTH THE SAVAGE BEAST(BREAST) ie. not michael savage

  • The best of the best. Joe Pass and George Benson

  • What an amazing contrast of comping in time, soloing "out" [relatively] harmonically, and implying a tight rhythmic swing groove over a standard ballad in such a short time -- barely 3:30 minutes including audience reaction -- unaccompanied.

    Ahh, Joe. Man!

And what an strange irony. How youtube brings both the past as well as the future, AND WHAT IS ACROSS THE WORLD, in any language, to what is in essence the XXI century's woodshed: your COMPUTER. Sheet music; tabs; lessons, inspiration

  • amusiathread! you have good done :)

  • great!

  • Joe Pass is the reason I keep listening to this song every day!

  • joe pass is the reason I don't practice pentatonic scales!

  • he blends single note lines and the progression so well.

  • That's what guitar playing is all about.! Just fantastic.......

  • bravo maestro

  • bravo maestro

  • Great performance!

Joe Pass is a genius of the guitar.

It is necessary that all guitarists listen their songs!

  • It just awesome. I lovin it!

  • so beautiful,

  • i get "misty" just trying to keep up w/him.

  • This guy is the reason I sold all of my solid bodies and distortion pedals for an archtop instead.

  • more fool you

  • @amusiathread

sold eveything away over a song?

    what a national tragedy!

  • @enginebooze

No, sold everything to upgrade to much nicer instruments, and pursue a much more difficult genre. And not over just one song, it took two or three.

  • @amusiathread me too actually i didn't sell all of my stuff but i haven't picked it up since i watched his little instructional about a year ago lol

  • @amusiathread i know wut ur talkin abut. it's a lot less headache's isn't?

  • @amusiathread Tempted to do something similar too!

  • @amusiathread Good for you :) !!!

  • @amusiathread well you gotto just to pay for a decent archtop. Did you manage to keep the house? And well done for the courage to follow Joe's path. He frightens me - pleasantly.

  • @amusiathread hehe :D I'm going to buy a godin 5th avenue with cutaway! very nice guitar.

  • @amusiathread

This guy is the reason I sold all of my guitars! (including the archtops)

  • smooth...

  • the master

  • Ok someone stole those notes from my guitar!

  • @woofieknees Haha, right? I guess playing music is just an eternal search for these notes...

  • @woofieknees I can't find them anywhere on my guitar either... What the hell...

  • Lovely. I must try to play it the same way.

Hey guitarists, have you got a score of this version to share?

  • find a real book and make it your own

  • they say if you listen closely to mr. pass' music you can here the world turn

  • Dovremmo ringraziare a vita Norman Granz che fece registrare Joe e tanti altri jazzisti nei cosidetti anni della fusion o jazz-rock.

  • Grande.....anzi!!!! grandissimo JJJJOEEEEE
