  • does anyone know who the icon of the inuit man is?

  • Slava vsem Ruskom narodu!!!

  • Why the painting of the bear at the beginning? I thought the bear was a pagan symbol in Russian culture.

  • @DoctorFrogger That's an icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov feeding a bear.

  • It's too bad Orthodox isn't near as big at Catholic or Protestant Christianity in this world.

  • @BayAreaOrBust It may not be as big but it is certainly holier and more beautiful. Christianity in the West (of Europe) is on the wane - in the Orthodox East it grows stronger every day. Maximum respect to the Orthodox. God Bless you all!

  • @slavicscot Is it really growing stronger? If so, where?

  • @BayAreaOrBust They're all evil it doesn't matter which one is the more prominent. Religion is evil; music is beautiful.

  • @fozziebear2009 This is is not the appropriate place for such a comment. There are videos with TV arguments between theists and atheists, where there are many people willing to fight with you.

  • @panarkas Maybe so but I am entitled to respond to any video in any way I see fit; just as you are.

  • A better recording of this music can be found on Youtube at "Arkhangelsky-Vespers 10 Greater Doxology."

  • were can i find i beter quality of this?

  • I am catholic. I thank you very much, you Orthodox, to share such a beautiful song with all of us

  • beautiful song

  • what is the name of the song, its not really a chant

  • @Gidenkidenk hello, i tried asking someone too to find it but i did my research and found it myself =)

Arkhangelsky - Vespers 10 Greater Doxology

  • @ankagula Well thank for you since speak to me politely in a tone thats respectful and not insulting to my upbringing and my intelligence, I will take your advice to heart :) . I don't mean to disrespect this music or video, only to defend MY Church against these non Russian people who don't know what their talking about. My family escaped socialism and to call our church and our heritage socialist in such an ignorant way is to me is extremely offensive after so much suffering. Thats is all.

  • Beautifull Chant. Well done brothers in Christ!

  • god bless Orthodox Russia. From a Catholic.

  • Orthodox/Catholic/Protestant brothers worldwide united

  • This is among the most beautiful thngs I've ever heard - the singers bring such spirituality to this music from a higher world. Do you know who the singers are or what cathedral they're in? Thank you very much for this beautiful upload.

  • i am catholic

  • God bless all orthodox from all of the world! I'm orthodox Christian from Poland.

  • Pozdravi za svu Rusku bracu iz Srbije. Po veri i po krvi braca, nek bog cuva nase zemlje.

  • Did some research, it is St. Seraphim of Sarov.

  • Who is the Saint with the bear? Extra Ordindary!

  • what is the name of this piece? anyone know?

  • Красивая. Я люблю это. Жаль, что я вернулся в Россию.

  • When Constantinople, once capital of Christendom, fell to the Muslim Turks it was said:

    "First fell Rome, then Constantinople.

Moscow is now the third Rome,

a fourth there shall never be."

  • Greetings and prayers from a Byzantine Christian. we are Orthodox, and Catholic.

  • bel canto davvero....

  • The rising of the Russian church in a renewed faith is the freshest work of God on the earth, but others also will rise in fresh love and look to Jesus, the head of the Church.

  • The first Russian Orthodox church started in Kiev

  • beautiful :') much respect from an Ethiopian/armenian orthodox

  • My heart goes out to the 20 million Russians killed by Hitler and his army. It confuses me when I see youg skinheads parading the Nazi flag, do they know that they're honoring the men that killed their grand parents ?

  • ¿Será la iglesia ortodoxa bizantina el último baluarte del cristianismo?...

  • beautiful. greeting from your brother from the coptic orthodox church-Egypt

  • HOLY ORTHODOX PEOPLE!

  • Jesus Christ is The only way to God, for He himself is the Truth and was appointed by God to be the Messiah. God declares in Isaiah that He himself would descend upon Earth and His own arm would bring salvation to mankind. This was manifested at the coming of Christ; hence, God coming to redeem man.

  • There are millions of ways to seek God and I mistrust anyone who claims to have the one and only truth. And a pleasent way to seek God is to listen to this beautiful music...

  • @meterpik1 Very well said

  • @Nicholas Geschke I don't think you know your history as well as you think you do. Mohammed dabbled with Syrian Monophysite Christianity for a little while, but ended up saying things about the Trinity and Incarnation that showed no respect for Christianity at all.

  • @Nicholas Geschke I don't think you know your history as well as you think you do. Mohammed dabbled with Syrian Monophosite Christianity for a little while, but ended up saying things about the Trinity and Incarnation that showed no respect for Christianity at all.

  • Russian Orthodox brothers, Greeks need YOU DESPERATELY!

  • Forgive us, and don't turn away from us, oh Lord

  • quick question.in which country is declared christianity as a religion?

who was the first christian nation in the world?

  • @aleksandar27123 as far as i know the very first christian state was armenia

  • @aleksandar27123 The Roman Empire was definitively the first Christian nation in the world as well as the nation that it was ironically persecuted the most before the Emperor Constantine end the persecuted with the Edict of Milan

  • @TheMikerussian ....yes but serbia was the part of the roman empire and because of that serbian people is directly first christian nation...roman emperor constantine was born in serbia in city of nish where is christianity declared by him as a religion.

  • @aleksandar27123 I'll look into that, I never researched where Constantine was actually from but I do know that he was very much a pagan before turning to Christianity upon seeing the cross. But respect my friend may God bless thy nation to renewed faith!

  • @TheMikerussian they are saying everything bad stuff about my religion but i'm clear with that .my religion is their curse,so we(orthodox christians) are following the truth in christianity.god bless you my brother.

  • Who is the saint portrayed in the icon at 7´ 25´´?

  • I join jspecaspec23 in my prayer for all Russians and people of dozens of other nationalities whose lives were destroyed or snuffed out by Leninism and Stalinism. This music carries us all closer to illumination.

  • @Rheinhart1 european crusaders and american "demokrats" killed much more russian as Stalin.

  • @mellomann08 Pff! What? No they didnt! Stalin killed more Russians than Crusaders(what?) Americans and Germans!

  • @ImperialGuard9001

False. Study history. Crusaders were absolute evil for Russia.

Put in search "Стас Михайлов - Покаяние(c обалденным видеорядом)".

No doubt Stalin was bad. He practised the death penalty. But USA is practising it today.

  • @mellomann08 Not even close to being accurate.

  • I'm not muslim or russian or anything like that but i absaloutley LOOVE this song. Whats it called?

  • Beautiful !!

  • God bless my Russian brothers and sisters! From Armenia with love! † Orthodox forever! †

  • What's the picture of at 4:17?

  • @kyfriends It's Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) Monastery in Greece.

  • IC XC NIKA

  • ХРИСТОС ВОСКРЕСЕ!!!

  • Prosti Gospodi menya greshnoho .

  • I am a Muslim and I find this very beautiful. Peace!

  • Greetings from Armenia my orthodox brothers! Spasiba! Ochin karasho! †

  • Who composed this sublime music?

  • 1:15......that hermit. who was he? was that bear his guardian spirit? what district was he from? or did he come north from Byzantium?

  • @acerb45666555 That is Saint Seraphim of Sarov. He was a hermit who lived in the mountains of Russia.

  • Beautiful! Praying that our Churches might breathe once more with both lungs!

  • religion is beautiful, ti believe in higher purpose is beautiful, to believe in God is beautiful

  • As my Russian Grandmother slowly passed away, she was in the 'Dove Room' listening to this kind of music. Peace be with that beautiful woman.

  • prekrasno poz od makedonija do pravoslavna rusija slava na boga i gospod neka se smiluva na nasite dusi

    spasibo for this video

  • Often I find myself within Catholic service, or in other situations involving the Church and I feel uncomfortable and ill at ease. When I look at these pictures and hear this music...I feel them. They make sense to me.

  • @AZ0960036

    Come to Orthodoxy!

  • @02kazak I'm actually considering riding my bike to a nearby Orthodox church. It's a few miles away, but not too far. However, my professor (who is an Orthodox priest) told me that it is "western," and not "eastern" orthodox. Do you, by chance, know the difference?

  • @AZ0960036

That would be a western rite church, not the Byzantine Eastern Rite.

  • anyone know the name of this song?? wish this was in better quality

  • peace inside of me in my orthodox church

  • My heart feels for the millions of Russians that passed as a result of Stalin and Lenin policies. Peace be with your souls.

  • @jspecaspec23 now russia is based on a orthodox based government which is freedom to the people

  • @jspecaspec23 Don't forgot about all those who bravely fought and the 20 million who perished defending Russia from Hitler. Nazis were socialist too, and all socialism is a means to destroy Russian Church. Also I ask that anyone reading this to pray for those who died most recently in terrible plane crash, place light candles around whatever icons you have, thank you.

  • @GMoneyStillTippin420 Christianity and Jesus are socialism. Stalin, Hitler, Mao were not socialists.

  • @SpanishBogatyr No its not and no he wasn't, and yes they most certainly were.

  • @GMoneyStillTippin420 Saying that would be the same to blame all christians for what the crusaders or the inquisition did to innocent people, read more books, not only the bible :)

  • @SpanishBogatyr How is saying Stalin was a socialist and Jesus wasn't the same as blaming all Christians for the Crusades?Thats a really stupid and baseless analogy .You seem to have this idea socialism is merely a vague label to describe anyone believes in altruism and justice for the poor, its not. Actually I'm currently in the middle of reading a really terrific biography of Teddy Roosevelt, and making the assumption I only read the Bible makes you sound like a smug condescending asshole ^__^

  • @GMoneyStillTippin420 When you start insulting and saying stupid things you are the only asshole here ^ ^ now i am reading Asimov's Foundation, and i have read 1984 and the Communist Manifesto just a month ago and i can say that instead of posting shit here you should read that kind of books and make a general idea of socialism. But i dont want to talk with unrespectful shitheads like you, so fuck off and bye :D

  • @SpanishBogatyr Haha yes I'm the asshole for seeing the massive gaps in your reasoning and *gasp* using profanities:O! I don't care what your reading, only that your insinuation I only read the bible makes you come off as a pretentious stuck up ASSHOLE. Haha funny and you still can't make the case for Jesus being a socialist, all you've done is give me one extremely stupid and totally irrelevant analogy and postured yourself like a smug self righteous jackass, good job, ya fucking idiot.

  • @GMoneyStillTippin420 You use language like that on the same site with religious music? Wow. Somebody should have raised their child a little better.

  • @TheDanbristol Yeah, because God has more important things to worry about than petty things like cussing and foul language. Listen danny boy if you actually bothered to read the exchange between myself and Spanish snot rag here he made some extremely ignorant and condescending remarks his argument as a a whole was incoherent and all together just dumb and he also told called me a shithead and told me to fuck off, wheres you comment chastising his foul language and his upbringing, hm?

  • Respond to this video... A beautiful chant. Too bad people have to try to ruin it by posting asinine comments. Then again, not everybody had such a good upbringing.

  • @TheDanbristol tell-tale signs of Catholicism...

  • I have a question about Eastern Orthodoxy. What real authority does the Patriarch have in the religion? Does he actually have any power?

  • @xxTheGhilliedGhostxx

He has no influence on a policy, but people listen to him more than to president.

  • zipper81423

calming and holy spirit inspired. only devine inspiration can be expressed in such a way !!!

  • stop fighting, please, and pray togther for the salvation of man & woman - kind, that Christ's sacrifice will not have been in vain.

  • Бог бесконечен, а мы конечны, но приближаясь к Богу, и мы становимся бесконечными.

  • Мир на всички православни християни от България!

Peace to all orthodox Christians from Bulgaria!

  • I dont care about Rus-Geo current politics, so dont put this small issue into what is really important.

  • I'm just a normal catholic from Western-Europe but I visited an Orthodox church once and I was amazed by how friendly they were in comparison with our priests. I'd love to be orthodox but we don't have an orthodox church nearby...

This music is just simply... Peace itself turned into frequencies.

  • @MadPyrotechnicus i dont think i've met a catholic priest in the States that has not been friendly, are they all that way in your country

  • @1classicliberal Yes, they're very friendly here too in Belgium but they're always friendly because they mostly want a favour in return. In comparison to the religious persons (also priests?) in the Orthodox Church, our priests are much worse... In the US, they're renowned to be friendly.Btw, our most famous priest from a couple of provinces in the surroundings here almost moved there since he served alongside the USMC as priest :P

  • @MadPyrotechnicus it saddens me to see what has happened to the church in europe

    good luck my friend

  • @1classicliberal Thank you.

  • Beautiful music made by beautiful /human/ voices.

  • I'm Muslim but this is beautiful!

  • @Lilia1992 : I am muslim too and this is beautiful! It makes me feel His Mercy

  • @Lilia1992 You haven't seen beauty until you've seen Christ- trust me in this my friend.

  • @markovka77 Sorry but I don't believe beauty is only found in religion. I believe beauty is everywhere and in everything. A newborn is beauty. A burnt piece of charcoal is beauty. A withering flower is beauty. I don't see beauty when I look at religion. I see beauty everywhere.

  • @Lilia1992 I didn't say anything about religion... it is Jesus Christ that contains the true essence of beauty. The things your eyes feast on, newborns, burnt charcoal, withering flower, etc. are things created by him. Therefore, if his creation holds so much beauty to which you testify, how much more the creator, which is Christ Jesus the Lord? You won't see true beauty until you see Christ (lets forget about religion).

  • @Lilia1992 I agree, well, but that is my Orthodox bias :P. You should listen to the songs of Capella Romana, many of which are published by vagos2006.

  • @Lilia1992 If you become Orthodox you can see the true inner beauty and purity of heart! Insha Allah! Find lives of the saints! Many martyrs chose Christ and death over the latter! Peace be with you!

  • @Lilia1992 why not? we have the same God, universe, earth and body, created by God :D

  • @Lilia1992 So what if you're Muslim? Music is music, it is made to be beauiful and to express something :D I am atheist, myself, but that doesn't mean I can not listen to eclesiastical music, gregorian chants, or christian pop/rock music. I listen to something because it's beautiful :)

  • @gothicgrowler Because some people I've met said it's weird for me to listen to Christian music when I'm not Christian.

  • @Lilia1992 christians, muslims, budhists all have great chants!

  • @Lilia1992 I respect you - and I respect the Islamic faith. As a Greek Orthodox boy myself, I do believe that God instructs us to be virtuous and upright - that we should treat each other as brothers.

I believe peaceful coexistence between our faiths is not only possible - but very desirable.

  • @NicholasGeschke Same here. I also believe that we need unity between the Abrahamic Faith. Our religions are more similar than we think although there are similarities.

  • @Lilia1992 I meant although there are differences.

  • @Lilia1992 As much as I truly would love to see our faiths become united - I am sensible, and I know such a thing isn't forthcoming anytime soon. However, a good start would be to teach people that we are not so different - and that its NOT the will of God to slaughter each other in His name.

I know my history - the Prophet Mohammed had great respect for Christianity. So, I return the favor and I respect Islam.

  • @Lilia1992 I'm the same way towards Islam. Islam has a lot of beautiful things in it. Like the call to prayer. Very beautiful. May peace be with you sister. :)

  • @JosLutgens And I prefer having a higher IQ level than you.

  • I am not Christian or Orthodox, but this is so so beautiful...

  • I am at peace when I listen to this. God Bless my orthodox brothers and sisters <3

  • So beautifull!

    Greetings from Greece

    Orthodox brotherhood

  • There is so much grace around us, I wish so much I could taste more of it than I do because its there in infinate. We just forget how to touch it, we forget how to touch the bread of life that surrounds us. Lord Jesus son of the father have mercy on us sinners and grant us your peace

  • @TonyRJ1989 I meant that there are not many differences between us. We have more similarities than we do have differences. God Bless.

  • and in the paintings appeares the elder Porfirie,,,,,

  • We must forget the minor differences between the Catholic and Orthodox churches, for they are so small, we have more in common than we have differences. The music is absolutely beautiful! God Bless.

  • This is the Great Doxology composed by A. Arkhangelsky. It can be heard on Youtube, at vespers 10 greater doxology - or do a search for arkhangelsky and find it there.

  • i am proud to be russian orthodox. born and raised!

  • What exactly is the name of this piece? and does anybody know where I can download it?

  • Love it

  • Greetings from Korçë, Albania. †

  • re: the council of Florence; St Mark of Ephesus ("The Courteous") destroyed the Roman Catholic doctrine of Purgatory, showing that it is not supported anywhere in the Bible or the Holy Fathers.

The Orthodox bishops at the council signed the instrument that recognized the supremacy of the Roman pope, but upon their return to Constantinople they were deposed by the laity. Under the leadership of St Mark of Ephesus, the council was denounced.

  • Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.

Enemies have driven me into your embrace more than friends have.

Friends have bound me to earth, enemies have loosed me from earth and have demolished all my aspirations in the world.

  • Enemies have made me a stranger in worldly realms and an extraneous inhabitant of the world. Just as a hunted animal finds safer shelter than an unhunted animal does, so have I, persecuted by enemies, found the safest sanctuary, having ensconced myself beneath your tabernacle, where neither friends nor enemies can slay my soul.

Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.

  • In The Name Of Jesus Christ

Patriotis1 and @TheSacredHeart2, my brother's Catholic and Orthodox people have one holy God our mighty father Jesus. @TheSacredHeart2-- He said love each other, this is he's words. And only devil want to be between Catholic and Orthodox people difference, hate and illegible. This is he's plan. We are brothers and sisters. Don't forget any of you whom we all breath and who is your life. Long live to Catholic and Orthodox People amen.

  • In The Name Of Jesus Christ

Peace all my Russian people. Georgia and Russia mast be one part of holy God. We mast pray lot and lot for that and we'll be together in heaven forever. And we pray for peace and for love intro our country's,because in this life is only love strong. I'll pray for Georgia and for Russia for the first time, because I have reason for that and for all Christian world, were is Jesus. All we need is him, our holy God. May he bless Georgia-Russia and all Christian world amen
