SHE SINGS THIS HORRIBLE..PEOPLE WAKE UP..Sounds like she is preaching the song in a seductive voice which she cant pull off.......TERRIBLE!!!! Marilyn Mccoo did it on Solid Gold..Its on here..She sings it better than anyone.
Nancy Wilson cheated out of seventies #1 Hit "I've Never Been TO Me" she deserved to have, all because tone-deaf radio didn't program this masterpiece of a performance...going deep inside the incredible lyrics, turning them inside out with raw dramatic intensity, where is the deserved "Grammy Award" for this stunning & memorable performance? Little wonder the music industry is in such a mess today when something this great is loverlooked...Bravo Nancy Wilson, you own this one!!!
@jamesmclarey WOW!!! I didn't know it was that serious!!! I was speaking to the wide spectrum of musical possibilities in song styling and interpretation. Sorry you took it so personally.
@jamesmclarey Only revdelaney and me? Oh, you can't count or read. That explains it. And whether one is educated or not, he/she may be able to appreciate a very good work of art. This is one. As I said, I saw her do this live; NO one in the audience doubted her powers. But you have the right to your opinion. I happen to believe that an uninformed opinion is not worth much. (your's falls into that category)
Nancy Wilson is a brilliant song stylist which is exactly what this song requires. If your palette is only accustomed to fast food, it is impossible for you yo appreciate haute cuisine. Educate your palette--free your mind!!
Only 3,000 views? WTF? This is, by far, the best version of this song. The original, by Randy Crawford is second. But I guess most ppl are enamoured by that commercially successful version by...uh...what's her name? Most of you would (probably) change your tune (no pun intended) if you'd only seen Nancy do this song live. She took possession of it. She owned it!
Whoever thinks Charlene gives this song anything should really listen to the words. An older woman looking back on her life, mistakes and all. This is the best version ever. Charlene sings it like a frigging choir girl. Subtle whoring!!!! Charlene!! Don't make me laugh!!!
This is bad!!...She took all of the sweet melody totally out of the song. Randy Crawford's version is the best I've heard. Randy Crawford sang it with deep expressive soul.
Nancy Willison butchered this song!!!! If this is talent then Im an award winning singer and I cant carry a tune and cant sing to save my self!!!!! Charlene version is a classic!!!!!! Thats real!!!!
@Richard....I could not have said that better...although I tried to get the feeling across on the Charlene version in the comments. I wanted to educate them to Nancy's gift. Wish I had seen your comment first, I would have just copied it to post there. Well said.
Charlene's chart topping version, and Randy Crawford's original rendition are better known and are good. But, to my mind, Nancy Wilson has the voice and gravitas to tell a story like this perfectly. Nancy. Oh you.
It matters not who covers this song, Ms. Nancy own's it now and forever.

I have to say I dont agree with NAVMAR16 This version is sweet and sounds so much better. More feelings than Charlene's version.
