kommt, es heißt kommt (not komt) all you bowie fans out there, hope to hear from you. schüsse reissen die luft doch wir küssen als ob nichts geschieht. hansa by the wall hauptstr. 155 anderes ufer brücke museum black walls potsdamer platz wall bahnhof zoo christiane f. köthener str. meister saal
It was the year of 1982 when we from West-Germany did our school closing trip to Berlin. Crossing DDR by train. The wall ... minatorial at the age of 16 in cold war ... we went to cinema watching "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" and my only hero was David Bowie from that day on. Thanks for keeping me away from hard things .. .. Today I'm going from Station To Station like I did these days, but in a much more positive way. Thanx David. And a hymn to my friends of '82 i lost in meanwhile ...
@S0v3r3ign69 check out the lyrics of the song and you know what i am referring too. btw read the book and you will learn it is about all kind of drugs.
That's the scene I realise that I don't know anything about Bowie. I was in the 80's listen to commercial phase, but then...well I became his fan. I was in some of those places in Berlin last year with Low and "Heroes" in my iPod. It was magical and city hit me. Thanks for that Bowie!
Does anyone agree that this is probably his greatest song; intricate, multi-layared lyrics allied to amazingly provocative personal imagery and an absolutly brilliant, storming musical component. I'd be interested to hear other suggestions for DB's best....
This actually wasn't a real concert. The performance of David Bowie was especially shot for the movie and they intercut scenes that show audiences to make it look like a live concert.
As a previous poster staed, this was a time period in which Bowie was trying to get off drugs. he was holed up with iggy Pop writing brillinat material and saving himself. Bowie never gor off drugs completely, but he really toned it down after Berlin. His Berlin material was absolutely wonderdful!
in this one case, i don't care what David says, the madness, that wonderful beautiful madness that was the thin white duke was definitely the side affects of the cocaine
song id ????please!!!!

One of his best songs.. but not easy to understand what it mean - something between hopeless and love - and between europe and america

I wonder how it felt for Bowie, miming (so good) the thin white duke.
Does anybody know the year of the concert? It might be 80 or 81....

I thought it was areal concert, but in New York?
Sileah 2 years ago
this concert took place in berlin/deutschlandhalle in 1976. for the movie they made extrashots like this performance.
fardwhistle 2 years ago
I think it was 1975 or 1976.
Bensen1983 2 years ago
It is supposed to be in 1976, but it was filmed in 1981 and is not from a real concert but was done for the movie.
ivankaramasov 2 years ago
I guess you're right.
Bowie looks much heathier and better in this video, than the Thin White Duke ;o)

that song is fantastic! (: and the movie is more fantastic!

Is it a real concert? I mean did Bowie really go to Berlin in that occasion??
ChiaraxCore 3 years ago
No. They shot it in New York. He's wearing the same clothes he was wearing on the Tonight show performance, which was shot at the same occasion.
The music is taken from the 'Stage' album. Bowie is miming here.

No. it's playback. Just for the Movie.
