@madars111 windows 7 has some drivers included. But it really depends on your computer. If your computer is old it might not. Just go to the manufacturers website of your computer and see if there are windows 7 drivers available. If you have an extra flash drive just download the drivers before you start. The only way to know if there are drivers included for you computer for sure is to try it and see.
I have done this with vista and it worked fine thanks. It was very simple as for some readson i didnt have to do the three stages, it just said copying files as usual then the GUI for a normal installation happened. I know it doesnt really matter but why did mine work simple than the tutorial lol
Thanks for the video, i have a Local disc:C and Local Disc:D i wanna to format only local disc:C does it remove the local disc:D files to ? Because i have my files on it and my windows is installed on :C ,i only need this to format ?!
heyy that was gud tutorial ....but i m nt seeing any unpartioned space while trying to follow the first step.....hard disk in nt showing at all...it just showing the pendrive to install the windows..:'(
OK, I tried this method I followed you to a tee and once I boot into the usb drive on my Eee PC 1005ha I don't get the options prompt like you, instead it goes into the widows 7/vista (I tried various OS's) install. I go through the install process an then I get an error code on both OS's setup processes. What is going on, is it that some net books can't install through usb, I had Ubuntu 11.4 before I re-imaged it now I have nothing, cause this piece of crap windows won't install..hlp please!
@NASIRUB1 did you install ubuntu first or windows first? because if you are dual booting windows needs to be installed first because windows upon installation rewrites the MBR witch erases Grub. without Grub Linux wont boot. install windows first. then ubuntu. have you tried that? after doing so windows will run a check disk. just let it run it will work fine afterwards. windows is crap. it needs tender love and care to work correctly.
@MrGizmo757 I bought this Net book off eBay and it came with Ubuntu 11.4 pre installed, but the original OS is windows 7 starter. So I downloaded a program that would let me put my windows 7 disk onto a usb flash (I have a 8gb flash drive) and I made a bootable usb drive, put it into the Net book and everything was going well until it was up to updating files and then I get an error code. I have tried using windows XP, vista and 7, no luck same thing happens, XP won't even load.
@NASIRUB1 I do get a message when I turn the net book after the splash screen, that says "error: unknown file system." then right below that it says "grub rescue>" what does this mean? When I tried to install windows I deleted and formated the drive before trying to install and still got errors.
@NASIRUB1 update: after 72 hours or more I came up with a simple solution to my issue with this Netbook, I just took the hard drive out and put it into a laptop installed Windows 7 on it and then put it back into the Netbook. Everything ran fine, I installed all the drivers and now I'm happy as hell.
@NASIRUB1 yes. assuming you can download the proper drivers for the NetBook. i installed windows 7 on my eee pc 900 but i couldnt find graphics drivers for it that worked.
i am trying to reformat my samsung sens laptop but everytime i choose to reboot on usb or on dvd drive, windows just starts to load again. can you help me sir?
@gdfschimpi007 cuz it looks better then the old start button. and wkndows in general is the worst operating system. not just vista. vista was the first OS Micro$oft shipped in almost 10 years. considering they been out of the game for a decade when they built it its not so bad. but they are going to really out stupid themselves with windows 8. windows 8 will be the end of microsoft as far as operating systems go.
@MrGizmo757 I agree with windows 8.. It looks like complete garbage. However... they did very well with windows 7. I wouldn't say windows is the worst operating system unless you don't know what you're doing. As for linux, it has it's pros/cons just as windows. All depends on what you plan on doing.
@jaitlymayank no it dose not work on Ubuntu. however you might be able to get it to work in WINE. if you don't know what WINE is just youtube it. that might work. but if not you will need to use a windows computer to get it done. you can use the USB on an ubuntu computer but you will need a windows computer to create the USB. but you might be able to get it to work in WINE. its worth a try.
@iiD0MINATE The program win to flash takes windows that is on the CD. and places it onto the USB so it can be used as a boot device. you pretty much just putting a copy of the cd onto the USB. The program just makes it bootable.
i got an error wen i did the second part. it says. "SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\$WIN_NT$~LS\I386\asms\1\DEFAULT\DEFAULT.MAN" on line 0." know how to fix that?
@kukymonster8o8 no clue. i have never seen that error before. maybe try loading a different Disk. Maybe your disk is corrupt or maybe your flash drive is write protected or something like that. the cheap flash drives work best because the better ones come with addition encryption and stuff on them that just gets in the way of this kind of stuff. it can by any one of those things. try a different copy of windows and a different flash drive. see if that makes any difference.
@djoh0000 i bypass activation. use a program called anti wpa3 for xp. and Remove WAT fir vista and windows 7. what these programs do is it it disables the activation software in windows wile patching the system so all your updates and stuff still work. look up those two programs here on youtube. you will see what i mean. they work well.
Check with the Filesystem of the USB thumbdrive.... On my PC ( c2d 2.93ghz, 4gig ddr3 ram) the process completed in 10 min.... Filesystem i sued was NTFS
i have an asus eeepc 1005 ha..i tried your method, but at finish of the text instalation,at 98%, i got 2 errors, cannot copy ntldr and ntdetect, and these are used to boot the windows right? of course...i skipped them...finished the instal, and tried to copy them with recovery console.it copied them still doenst boot. i treid another windows xp...guess what...at the text insal ,same error.
OOOOOMMMMMGGGG !!!!! I try to repair my broken computer since 2 days. I pass 7-8 hour trying things with the bios and nothing was working even things I was sure it will work, but your method work !!! Thanks a lot !
You're like the guru of all that is awesome. I just want to say thanks for all the help. This was by far one of the best and most detailed guides i've seen in my life. @MrGizmo757 It works great right until where I'm supposed to pick a partition to set up XP on. I only got USB partitions available and no HDD. I'm stuck and dunno what to do :(
@dudemcpek You should search the bios for an option to disable AHCI and set it to compatibility mode..that way it works..i had the same problem with a Toshiba NB-200
I have 4 computers with multi touch trackpads, so yes you were wrong about that. Heres what I've got with them at this point. Bytespeed MB40 Notebook. 2 Dell Latitude E5410 Notebooks. And an eMachines Notebook (forgot the model number and was too lazy to look.) All of them were made in 2010, except for the Bytespeed MB40, and all of them run Windows 7, so they're not MACs.
if youre using an iso disc image you need to mount it to a virtual drive using daemon tools lite, poweriso or any ther similar program, and select the virtual drive. you cannot simply select the iso file or folder.
your great man!! i would like to ask if you already have the solution to the drive D: System put in drive C:? is this can work also in desktop computers?
@acecasela123 i do have a solution but it requires removing windows and starting over. boot Gparted Partition editor form a USB stick. then delete all partitions then create two new ones. first one will be NTFS. Second one will be FAT 32. now restart the windows install and now your usb drive will be seen as drive D. now you can use windows setup to delete those newly created partition and then continue the install like normal.
@acecasela123 This install will only work on Computers that allows booting from USB. My desktop wont allow that. but My friends dose. there really no way to tell with a locked bios like on an OEM machine. so just try and see. that's all you can really do.
i was going crazy because my cd reading drive isnt working and i cant format the computer with a disk and my computer is getting all slow and all that , but know i can do it by USB , THANKS SO MUCH MAN , keep up the awesome work !
@robinfire23 yes it will work with win7. but you will need a usb stick no smaller then 6 gigs to do it. and of course make sure you have the windows 7 drivers for the device your installing it on.
very nice tutorial man ty, but im having a little problem installing with the first step..... i think it's because i am trying to install xp over the unix already on the system.... do you know of a way to boot and format from the usb thumb drive? ...i think that will solve the problem
Sir when i try right what u did and insert Usb in my pc selected kingstondatatraveler as the first boot media device in BIOS and when i reboot a letter "j" appears on the top left on the screen...what i do now...
Hi there can you please help me? I have an ISO file and installed on my flash drive. When the windows setup starts I press ENTER to set up XP now and it tells me to insert a CD...and that the part where I am stuck on and I basically have a windows XP ISO but it is not recognizing it. Can you please help me on this issue?
@Vack20 Check your bios settings. to see if it has a setting for it. some bios' disable this feature. also try using a diffrent usb port. My netbook i can only boot from one of the usb ports try that. you could try to format and create the bootable usb again. something could have gone screwy when you created it. The most common reason for this is the flash drive itself. some flash drive dont work as a boot device becuase of write protection. the really cheap usb drive seem to work best for this
is that a dual boot or no

@Vack20 Check your bios settings. to see if it has a setting for it. some bios' disable this feature. also try using a diffrent usb port. My netbook i can only boot from one of the usb ports try that. you could try to format and create the bootable usb again. something could have gone screwy when you created it. The most common reason for this is the flash drive itself. some flash drive dont work as a boot device becuase of write protection. the really cheap usb drive seem to work best for this
