Gracias.
Best version of this song! No one has add this soul, voice and guitar. No One like Jose ever... and his new album "The genius of JF nr2" where he sung new his songs and equally cover from Elton John to James Taylor is fantastic. go to his personal webSite...
The thing is he does not need an orchestra. When he gives his band a break and there is only his voice and his six string lady in his hands - it is pure magic.
you are correct in being a savor of the purest form of talent. I would be blown away, however, by the addition of an orchestra. Gino Vannelli also records solo and with orchestra.
Orchestra enhances the already talent, though not needed to see it. It's a matter of preference.
Search fo the video - La canzone del sole - Jose Feliciano - together with a great italian orchestra. It was a great performance - I'm sure you would like it :)
I remember Nelson Briles singing this song in a club in 1972 in honor of his friend and teamate Roberto Clemente who hit his 2000 hit and was a hero in the world series..Moreover Clemente died in the bay of San Juan PR trying to deliver an overloaded prop-plane earthquake ridden Nicaragua.Hey still brings tears to my eyes!
I have the best brother in the world, I am blessed and every time i hear this song it rings special to me how lucky I am to have such a wonder brother.
Great rendition but it reminds me of Nelson Briles singing this song a short time after Roberto Clemente died in twin prop plane which fell into San Juan PR Harbor while Clemente was attempting to take aid to Nicaraguan earthquake victims.
I saw him in the 1970s at the Del Mar Fair (North San Diego County) when I was a kid. He played Hotel California, and rocked on the guitar like nobody's business. Forgot he's an exceptionally gifted singer. Great song, too.

One other thing: Note that there's no band, no one else at all. Just him, his guitar, and his other instrument - the voice.

Jeez. I forgot how this guy could sing.

This man is amazing - only his voice and his guitar nothing else. How many others are able to put into a song so much only with this?
