Once someone told me that I looked like Madhubala. I had no idea who she was. I have been told that she is considered an all time beauty. Watching this video I can see why. I had heard a lot about Madhubala.When I saw her on the screen, I discovered the reason behind it later. Doing emotional scenes I found in her eyes "sharmmo Haya" and a concealed infatuation.Colour scenes presented her beauty like the tip of an ice berg.She passed away 41 years ago, however,the public & media always describe her as a symble of beauty. She is so beautiful! and what she achieved is awesome!her childhood with her tough father who made her life hell,who tuned her for earning money for the family because he was not able to do that. then enjoy the true love in the arms of Dilip Kumar.Then breaking up with him because of her foolish father who hate Dilip Kumar so much and never allowed her to marry him even if she desperatly wanted it.then the loveless marriage with Kishore Kumar.And then her lonely last days.I admire her so much!!!
I don't wanna offend anybody, but I guess Indian tastes are very different from Europeean ones, cos I don't find her beautiful in the least. Her face is too wide, her eyes are too close to each other, her mouth is too narrow and her nose is way too big. But then again, the standards of beauty were different those days. I also don't find Marlene Dietrich beautiful.

i do agree with the comments by misspretty 56 mani ,just sit a few minutes in reshibazaar anantnag kashmir and find u can sacrifice hundreds of madhubalas on any normal beautyful lady passing from the same road just go to any city of kashmir and see if u keep eyes good enough to find beauties scattered all over kashmir himachal and punjab and all over india.

Madhubala was this Divine Beauty who was blessed with intelligence too. Her personality was such that it fit any character she played on screen, be it a sophisticated urban girl, rural rustic girl or period (historic) character. She did it all with flair and intelligence. She was much ahead of her time and knew camera technique and projection. She was unboubtedly an effortless artist. Her talent was not tapped to the fullest IMO. There was no such thing as her "forte' " She did it ALL !
My reply to your msg in 30 mins was by chance :) I happened to be online around the time your msg arrived. Madhubala had this 'purity' about her which was lovely,but she also had a tremendous amount of Oomph and was sensuos and sexy IMO, not forgetting the Glamour and sex-appeal. Her voice projection and dialogue delivery was unmatchable, & all coming from an artist who was not even trained formally. She was a complete package gifted to us by God Almighty & taken away too soon !
My other absolute favourite happens to be Nutan. Equally talented, beautiful and ravishing, with a delightful smile and magically sweet voice. Unfurtunately she too is no more and passed away relatively young.

Most pictures here do justice to the beauty and grace of the angelic Madhu-- except the one at 0:43-50. That one shows a crude, ill-advised attempt to present Madhu in a western-style sex-pot image; sorry, It cheapens her . I don't wanna offend anybody, but I guess Indian tastes are very different from Europeean ones, cos I don't find her beautiful in the least. Her face is too wide, her eyes are too close to each other, her mouth is too narrow and her nose is way too big. But then again, the standards of beauty were different those days. I also don't find Marlene Dietrich beautiful.

Madhubala was this Divine Beauty who was blessed with intelligence too. Her personality was such that it fit any character she played on screen, be it a sophisticated urban girl, rural rustic girl or period (historic) character. She did it all with flair and intelligence. She was much ahead of her time and knew camera technique and projection. She was unboubtedly an effortless artist. Her talent was not tapped to the fullest IMO. There was no such thing as her "forte' " She did it ALL !

My reply to your msg in 30 mins was by chance :) I happened to be online around the time your msg arrived. Madhubala had this 'purity' about her which was lovely,but she also had a tremendous amount of Oomph and was sensuos and sexy IMO, not forgetting the Glamour and sex-appeal. Her voice projection and dialogue delivery was unmatchable, & all coming from an artist who was not even trained formally. She was a complete package gifted to us by God Almighty & taken away too soon !

Most pictures here do justice to the beauty and grace of the angelic Madhu-- except the one at 0:43-50. That one shows a crude, ill-advised attempt to present Madhu in a western-style sex-pot image; sorry, It cheapens her . Our stars were always at their best when they remained authentic to Indian-Pakistani traditions of refinement and embodied its culture in a sari or salwar-kameez or ghagra, topped off , in Indian custom,by a glorious bindi .
