  • I love you can hear a song for the first time ever, and not know who the band is, but yet you just KNOW it's a good song. You feel it; it just moves you. And then you look at the band name and say "well, hell, that explains it."

  • Hey who is the drummer? Didn't he play with Mad Season too?...

  • @LkAuYrNtE barrett martin. he was the second drummer of the band and recorded with them their last two albums (and the one that never came out). he gave the band a sound quite different from what they had done before. certainly, he played with mad season too

  • Saw these guys live in '94. Really good show. The drummer plays like animal from Muppets. Must have to change drum heads after each show.

  • fuckin´ awesome song !ª!!

  • Got to see these guys in Seattle right after this album came out. Great show!!

  • solid, bold and righteous statement

  • 2:45 to 3:26 is pure awesomeness.

  • Well... Lanegan looks like a healthy athlete here, eh?

  • Gotta love those Conner brothers. Gary's so enthusiastic in this one. xD

  • yeah, so do I !!

    awesome tone (:

  • I love Josh's tone at 1:53!

  • So goddamn bluesy.

  • Yep. Just have to get myself a Boss DS-1 and an Orange stack.

  • Aw man, that was tremendous. (A mate of mine taped it when it was first broadcast, and I was happy to watch it repeatedly back in the day; now happy to watch it repeatedly here!)

  • That solo he pulls off. DAMN it kicks F'ing ass!!!!! Screming trees is pure awsomeness!!

  • Lanegan is is so eleganty wasted here and it is weird seeing Josh look so clean cut and innocent.

  • amazing chemistry

  • My faf is definately Gary, the guitar man :)

  • Gary is awesome he has more energy than most skinny ass guitarists

  • same with our guitarists lol

  • I really miss this band, but I love Lanegan's solo stuff and QOTSA...

Cracks me up to see young Josh Homme in his polo shirt with the rest of these grizzly bears.

  • he looks like such a kid

but to think now he's more of a beast with QOTSA

he's damn lucky to have toured with screaming trees.

    cant help being jealous :P

    lol

  • I love the fact that a young Josh Homme is playing second guitar on the song!!!!!!!

  • sweet solo by Josh Homme of QOTSA right at the end!

  • I like it :D

  • that sounds familiar to me

  • beatles I am the walrus? or air between my finger by the white stripes?

  • ....magic!!! What a great tune!! Brilliant!!

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND!

  • amazing guitarists. amazing sounding guitars

  • Great, like the trees in the late 80s and how Josh and Gary played the Guitarimprovisation together, realy awesome...If you dont know the Band you would think they played since years together...

  • Outstanding!! Christ I miss these guys!

  • Love This Song!!!!!

  • this was one best bands i have ever seen live. nice touch by having josh in it too, KUDOS

  • great vocalist. they sound like some great band from my country: "Big foot mama". check out on youtube...

  • I want to fly away, yea yea yea

  • josh homme and mark lanegn have very similar tastes in hair colour. They are both ginger at the same time, or both blonde at the same time, or both brunnete at the same time.

  • Boy these guys kick some serious ass..

  • Amazing Band, great sound and Mark Lanegan is a fucking class singer.

  • @DOAJAM Lanegan is the best baritone in the business.

  • great band!

  • one of the greatest bands i've ever heard, i hope someday mark and the guys will get together again and make a new album and a world tour.

  • Good music, good band, good performance... good life!!!

  • wow joshs gp5 in standard...

  • Amazing set up and sound

  • gorgeous man

  • Oh Lee Conner and your windmill, you crazy man.

Its a shame Josh never recorded with the Screaming Trees, but even a bigger shame that Dust never had a follow-up. Ah well, I suppose things worked out, what with QOTSA and Lanegan's solo work.

If only we could see these guys re-unite, if only for one more album.

  • rock n roll is dying sad adn hip hop and rap are taking over but they suck nobody has good taste in music anymore the screaming trees were great so are alice in chains white stripes.

  • @runescapeuser3 Yeah & Modest Mouse,Foo Fighters, Primus,Melvins,Mudhoney,Sound Garden,Rage,Strokes,Dir en Grey,Oh & Red Hot Chillie Peppers....Good thing we still got them.

  • @runescapeuser3

Rock n' roll isn't dying! On the contrary, it's growing.

Here in Portugal there are lots of new good rock bands. And everyone who Appreciates good music doesn't care what plays on the radio. They search the web, and go to shows to enjoy good old rock n roll!!!

Check this Portuguese band: Miss Lava . They kick ass. ;)

  • @xmrbeanx no they don't the portugal bands suck

  • @pivot1022

Yeah...i'm sure you're a real expert in Portuguese music...

  • @xmrbeanx are you? do you know if the bands their are awesome or just shit?

  • @pivot1022

Apparently i can. something you obviously can't. and since you seem such a reasonable guy and open minded to talk about music i'll just say, fuck off.

  • @xmrbeanx lolol

  • Comment removed

  • @xmrbeanx

im portuguese and i gotta say portuguese bands suck.

except moonspell and blasted mechanism the rest is ass

  • @runescapeuser3 white stripes suck dick man

  • As much as I love the trees I forgot Homme played with them too... a testament to both of their versatility. Especially looking back on this from this point in time after songs for the deaf!

  • Langegan is the shit!

  • Gringe the best!!!

  • is that a coronation that the large guitarist is playing (sorry I don't remember his name)

  • yes it is a coronation... and his name is Gary Conner

  • I do believe some form of Richenbacker? I'm no expert, mind,

    And it's Gary Lee Connor

  • Epiphone Wilshire

  • Thanks!

  • No Prob! I only know because they just came out with a reissue.

Love these guys. Dust is just plain beautiful. Saw Lanegan with Gutter Twins recently. Amazing. Lanegan barely moved the whole show but still just completely owned the stage.

  • he looks like a distinguished kurt cobain

  • sweet stage

  • ......awesome!!! this was my soundtrack to a proper 7 week roadtrip around the US in 97!! Me and my (then girlfriend) went to NY, vegas, yosemite, grand canyon, seattle, san fran, and finally LA (not in any order) and we had Screaming Trees and the best of Simon & Garfunkel CD ( loving S&G) in the mustang!! ( and local radio!!) Best holiday ever!! love the US!!

  • ese tema es espectacular.... de hecho todos los temas del dust son geniales (dime western, gospel plow, etc) jajajaja un gran album....

this song is so fuckin great.... in fact the whole dust album is great...

  • I remember waking up late on night with MTV on (back when they played alot of videos) and loved it. Actually, alot of 90s songs I like I saw them afterhours on MTV. Wow, the times when you could fine new and different music on MTV...memories.

  • 5/5 Mark & Josh fookin rock!!

  • guitarist with the blue shirt is the singer QOTSA

  • wenisimo

    peaso de tema

    aguante screaming

  • Adoro este vídeo. Lito - São Paulo

  • me encantan, cada vez más

  • solo kisiea revirir en la etapa que ustedes vivieron, y reflejar el alma.......

  • ............brilliant!!!!!

  • This song RAWKS, I can't believe how underrated Queens and the Trees really are. Shame, really. Listen to that VOICE

  • ......I went travelling in `97 and this was my soundtrack!! Fooking awesome in a Mustang cruising the west coast USA!! (shit car thought!!)

  • Josh & Mark rules!

  • God this band were good!

  • These guys are gods! I want them back... Best band in this goddamn world.

    And what a song...

  • sounds like the doors

  • it's sad to watch mark singing about drug addiction at a time when it obviously overcame him...

  • wow When wa this performed? I knew Lanegan sung on Songs for the Deaf album with QOTSA. But had no idea that Homme had played with Screaming Trees too.

  • Probably 94 or 95 right after Kyuss split. Josh was hired as a touring guitarist. I remeber seeing QOTSA posters popping up all over Seattle in 96 before the the first record came out. Never got a chance to see them tho. Damn me and my lazy ass.

  • that's because the meat puppets arrange a lot of instrumental songs, and most of the singing ones sounds like middle of the 60's rock, but the country-grunge stuff are exelent, such a great guitar songs

  • If you think Dust is good, be sure to check out Uncle Anesthesia, Buzz Factory, or any of their other earlier stuff. And don't forget Sweet Oblivion...

  • The Screaming Trees was the most underrated and unrecognized band of the "grunge" movement of the early '90s. This despite the fact that they were incredibly innovative, talented, and soulful.

I saw M. Lanegan singing with the Soulsavers in Washington DC last week -- the show was awesome; transcendant and uplifting. Lanegan possesses one of the great voices of our time. Too bad he's so under appreciated here in the U.S.

  • with you there fella, why don't they reform gave a friend of mine DUST and guess what it's still in the cd player, the best of the best up there with pearl jam

  • Totally with you both, but Lanegan has arguably created his best music outside the Trees (even though i am obsessed with them) and teh Soulsavers album is just out of this world, with the Isobell Campbell colaboration hot on its heels

  • I think they reached a point here really finding how to express their dark, moody and ultimately soulful character. The dust album kicked ass! Went out on a high.

  • I'm the same age as Josh, and this would have just blow my mind away if I could play w/ the Trees.

  • lanegan thank you

  • I dunno. I like the leather.... and I don't mind the beard.

  • firstly, mark doesn't suit leather trousers :) secondly, he looks like a wreck here, good job he got clean. awesome song and surprisingly good performance considering lanegan looks fit to drop.

  • yes songs for the deaf was good rated R was better and Self titled kicked ass

  • i love poetry and a glass of scotch, and of course my friend Mark Lanegan. I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. Kind of a big deal.

  • Fucking incredible

  • looks like mark has been stranded on an island for 2 years

  • the tone josh gets is fucking amazing

  • i forgot .,.i miss you guys

  • This is just a good feel good song, with a hint of sadness with the 'should have been mine'

    Great song

  • i think mark lanegan looks really good hes so awesome

  • 1. Screaming were amazing and criminally underrated

    2. Mark Lanegan looks terrible

    3. Anyone with any idea how old Joss Homme was here?

    4. Why can't we still be making music this good now. Songs for the Deaf was good, but not this good.

  • In answer to 3: 'Nov 96 would have made him 24 and its Josh not Joss!

  • i saw this tour. Lanegan was so strung out. Got arrested for trying buy smack in SF. They still rocked it, but Lanegan left the show after a half hour. Josh killed though.

  • It's a fucking disgrace that 'Dust' is so under-rated and this video/Mark Lanegans legacy is a testimony to that. Dust was one of the greatest albums of that era and it got over-looked by the punters even though the critics loved it. People; check Dust out. Possibly one of the finest albums of the 1990's and even though history tells it different, it was just as good as Superunknown/Badmotorfinger, RATM, Nevermind, Dirt, if not better.

  • Look at Josh on guitars! 5*!

  • Homme just joined'em on tour

  • i actually like his voice better in this live version than on the cd and i just like it better for some reason maybe because you feel it more cause its live

  • ....that was breathtaking!! Simply awesome!!

  • He almost sounds like he does on the record. OMG! did I say RECORD!!! Most people here probably don't even know how to play a 45 or 78.

  • was josh on the dust album? only this show, correct?

  • i don't think he played on the dust album. This was'nt a one off, he toured with them as an extra guitarist in between kyuss and forming queens.

  • This is the best recording of Mark singing live that I've ever seen/heard! Thanks so much for posting it. Love this band, this album, and his voice!

  • Wow, a Trees perfomance where Lanegan didn't walk off the in the middle of the show. lol I'm shocked! He had a funny habit of doing that at live shows for a while. Great singer but a drama queen!

  • if more bands make good grunge music...grunge will be resurrected

  • w00t!

  • josh homme the fuckin great master

    k puto amo

  • This is a great clip! Love them, miss them greatly.

    Love the Dust album, too.....

  • amazing version of this song :D
