When I've heard that song for the first time, it came to me immediately that it was a Heep song, because of the atmosphere which were around it and the spiritual mood of it, but then i discovered that it was for Ken Hensley, so i wasn't wrong because it was truly played by the same members! Genius and amazing band! I really liked that era, and really missed it these days.
This song is an absolute colossus. In fact the whole album is brilliant. A must for anyone's collection Mrpeloton is correct. Thain and Kerslake helped out with bass and drums. Ken did the rest. How good is that.

Swarms of them will present themselves with more disguises ever taken by even a chief of the Bohemians - as printers, writers, school teachers, etc. If ever an association of people deserved eternal damnation, on this earth and in hell, it is this Society of Loyola (1816).
I have correct you on this one. Ken Hensley played the slide guitar solo on ''The Spell'' from '' Demons and Wizards'' He played all the slide guitar stuff on the Uriah Heep albums. Mick Box did not play on ''Proud Words On Dusty Shelf'' Gary Thain and Lee Kerslake where the only ones from Heep on that album. All other instruments where played by Mr. Hensley.
Thanks for sharing this. It's always been one of my favourites of his. Pretty remarkable when you consider he plays the acoustic guitar, electric leads, all keyboards, sings the lead vocal and does his own harmonies. Very gifted artist.
