hi im gina i just thought i would tell you thank you for such a nice video i love artists like me who want to share what they do.this was nice of you to share love gina
I found you thru Inspire Me Thurday and left a message on your blog... anyway, I see you have several videos on here and I'm looking forward to checking them all out! Very fun! Great work!
Girl...2 brushes, in hand..one or 2 in mouth...I can SO relate! Lot's of "process"..in a pretty picture. I am glad you are sharing that. Art is Life, Life is Art.
Hi Paulette! (hee, hee) Yep, I'm a multitasker....well when it comes to art anyway. ;) Back when I used to make beads, I would hold glass rods in my mouth (not the hot ones btw) and two tools in one hand....I can work much faster that way and both glass and acrylics need to be worked quickly. ;) So glad you enjoyed it!!!!
It may be kinda hard to tell from the vid, but what I'm doing is putting the shadow color on and then the main skin tone or the highlight color right next to it and using a slightly damp brush to blend the two together while they're still wet. They both have to be still wet...that is the key. ;)
Hi Sarah! I do mix my own colors....to get a shadow color, I mix in a little blue into my skin tone mix and for the highlight color, I add in more white to my skin tone color mixture. :)
Yes, practice is a very good thing. :) Each time you work on a new piece, you'll learn from it....so paint as much as you can. The more often you paint, the faster you'll see improvement. :D Thanks so much for watching!
What a struggle!
Why so many opaque layers?

Really enjoying these vids, while learning and compiling a shopping list of paints. What colours do you recommend for faces?
Interested to see you are going to offer classes. I'm off to sing up for info.

Thanks! In my "All About Faces" online class I give all the info on the paint colors I use for painting faces. :)

thanks :) i'll try to put the words together. but what mystifies me is how to blend acrylics. like how you blend the face. that is my biggest wonder.

How do you choose a shadow color? And highlight color? That is my problem...it always turns out WAY too dark...do you mix your own colors?
