Indeed, the Virgin Mary is an aspect of the Great Goddess, albeit in a minor role compared to the male deities within the Judeo-Christian pantheons. The Black Virgin, (Mary Magdalene's precursor) was at first venerated by the Gnostics and other Christians, until the Church leaders, wishing to get rid of the Old Religion, either went about diabolizing Goddess, or incorporating aspects of the Divine Feminine into the church in a much-diminished and even subservient fashion.
The Wicca and Pagans certainly have some of the more beautiful music and arts of the age under their belts; I having been raised catholic always beleived that the Virgin Mary was always just another face of the Goddess. Quick Recap, Paganism is a religion some 15,000 years older than Christianity. Most not all, but, most Christian holidays are a spin off of a Pagan holiday that in fact is in place to over shadow it. In those times people shrived for power and control. The Catholic church was founded by people in search of such control. Once the were established anyone that did not agree with them was simply killed rather than to be dealt with. Pagans believe in no harm to anyone EVER!! They were easy prey!

Go to a Library it is in books everywhere. Want even more insight? Talk to a History buff that specifically studies ancient times. They will not be able to tell you that they believe in Jesus and mean it because there is just too much information that leads away from it.

I do not hold that against them. They have rights same as I. I didn't start to question my religion (Christianity) until I was at war in a place where supposedly it all began. Then I began to think. my Step-dads muslim and when my mum told him I was Wicca he threatened to have my thrown out my house, to get my mum to disown me as in his eyes I was a devil child...
My mum has always loved and supported me in what ever I chose to do, she is Christian but never once turned her back on me, she was so open to the Pagan and Wiccan religion :)

So you could think of the Virgin Mary as the manifestation of the Goddess that appeals most to Christians. That's why you'll never see/hear a true Wiccan claiming Wicca is the only way. Most people of any religion are so enlightend and educated about the world and other peoples belifes that they know how things work and basicly all more or less belive and value the same basic things. We all just have diffrent wieves of it coz we where brought up in different parts of the world, religion, culture, friends etc..

I found intrest in Wicca when I was 11 I just lost faith in being Catholic I was all ways so depressed I would cry myself to sleep every night praying and pleading for help and in return I gained nothing ): but then as I was reading I discover the goddess and I looked into it deeper and found Wicca it made me happier it filled me with joy and passion I don't know how to make my parents see this

Well, its a long way full of discoveries, try some Pagan podcasts, like the Ipodwitch, Brook Stargazer, she`s great about showing different ways to be wiccan/a witch but there are much more like "witchs primer".
@IKT57 Often you cant join covens until 18 because they are respecting and thinking you need the time to prepare and learn for the old way and of course really decide on it . Try to read a lot like Raymond Buckley or Scott Cunningham so you can get a peep inside. Its just a hint no converting ;D

Yet, every weekend, I go visit him, and we watch movies, walk around town, and he talks about how much he misses me when I'm gone. A lot of my friends are christians and I have tried going to church but everytime "god" or "jesus" is said I feel out of place, as if I do not belong there with the brainwashed. Actually, sweeties, the wicca that many who are viewing this video know and love only officially started around 60 years ago. There are a few covens and sects who hold that they have survived for those thousands of years, but this is hard to prove. The wicca we know today does pull from ancient beliefs and rituals and values, but it is a modern movement --a revival, if you want to call it that. hey tubies i am a practicing witch for 3years now and ive been noticing that on all these wonderful songs there's always some bible thumping fanatic telling us we are wrong but i just want to remind my brothers and sisters that we are strong and it is us, our practice/religion that has lasted through the centuries, more so than any other religion, in the arms of the great mother we will watch all other religions pass by just as so many others did.

And it is strange; the Bible was written in Aramaic, which is close to Hebrew, and orignally the holy trinity was the Father, the Son, and the Great Mother... Quick Recap, Paganism is a religion some 15,000 years older than Christianity. Most not all, but, most Christian holidays are a spin off of a Pagan holiday that in fact is in place to over shadow it. In those times people shrived for power and control. The Catholic church was founded by people in search of such control. Once the were established anyone that did not agree with them was simply killed rather than to be dealt with. Pagans believe in no harm to anyone EVER!! They were easy prey!

Go to a Library it is in books everywhere. Want even more insight? Talk to a History buff that specifically studies ancient times. They will not be able to tell you that they believe in Jesus and mean it because there is just too much information that leads away from it.

my Step-dads muslim and when my mum told him I was Wicca he threatened to have my thrown out my house, to get my mum to disown me as in his eyes I was a devil child...
My mum has always loved and supported me in what ever I chose to do, she is Christian but never once turned her back on me, she was so open to the Pagan and Wiccan religion :)
I just do not get why people have to be so hateful towards others?

Sadly the 2 major religions in the world are those who "hate" each other the most,maybe coz they are very similar and are based more or less on the same thing.They where "born" at the same time and started to argue, and have done so for a bit over 2000 years, sad but true.An example, try googling:

So you could think of the Virgin Mary as the manifestation of the Goddess that appeals most to Christians. That's why you'll never see/hear a true Wiccan claiming Wicca is the only way. Most people of any religion are so enlightend and educated about the world and other peoples belifes that they know how things work and basicly all more or less belive and value the same basic things. I found intrest in Wicca when I was 11 I just lost faith in being Catholic I was all ways so depressed I would cry myself to sleep every night praying and pleading for help and in return I gained nothing ): but then as I was reading I discover the goddess and I looked into it deeper and found Wicca it made me happier it filled me with joy and passion I don't know how to make my parents see this

Yet, every weekend, I go visit him, and we watch movies, walk around town, and he talks about how much he misses me when I'm gone. @ukgreaterlondon I believe it took the unity of a man (male god) and a woman (female goddess) to create what we have. Sure, the mother is the main, for without her, there would be nothing. But I believe she had the aid of a male at her side, the waxing and waning gods.

And if you think about it parents are judges as well, he is more of a parent because he "gave birth to the universe" or whatever. And I am afraid you do not know the correct definition of the term "Freedom". Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. That includes the prying eyes of Christianity. We choose which religion to believe. We're all human.

@Tapchan14 It's as Charmedfann1 said - I am actually a 14 year old girl and I don't really like Harry Potter. A lot of my friends are christians and I have tried going to church but everytime "god" or "jesus" is said I feel out of place, as if I do not belong there with the brainwashed. My IQ is very high for my age so I am very observant of things. When I listen to this it gives me hope and calms my soul - it's empowering. If you have a problem with that, go burn in your "hell".

Actually, sweeties, the wicca that many who are viewing this video know and love only officially started around 60 years ago. There are a few covens and sects who hold that they have survived for those thousands of years, but this is hard to prove. The wicca we know today does pull from ancient beliefs and rituals and values, but it is a modern movement --a revival, if you want to call it that. hey tubies i am a practicing witch for 3years now and ive been noticing that on all these wonderful songs there's always some bible thumping fanatic telling us we are wrong but i just want to remind my brothers and sisters that we are strong and it is us, our practice/religion that has lasted through the centuries, more so than any other religion, in the arms of the great mother we will watch all other religions pass by just as so many others did.

@ClayborneEricaLauren I am 15 and have been officially practicing for about a year (this summer), though I have longed for my Lady since I was 10. And it is strange; the Bible was written in Aramaic, which is close to Hebrew, and orignally the holy trinity was the Father, the Son, and the Great Mother... In our male dominated world, she was forgotten, but I'll never forget.

@ClayborneEricaLauren i agree... i was born into a family of pagans and loved so much i have practiced it for years now... i am 16 and have become active around age 4 to 6... being in a family of pagans and worlocks (have in mind some male whitches take this as a compliment) you tend to learn things that other pagans do not know... if you ever need advice or just need someone to talk to i am here...
