@psmx7 Actually my friend to clear things up, the Assyrians were the first nation AS A WHOLE to embrace Christianity obviously not the first people (as individuals). The Armenians established the first Christian KINGDOM at around 300 AD. And Assyrians nowadays speak Neo-Aramaic, which is the modern from of Aramaic. Think of it as Old English and Modern English.

@psmx7 Actually, Assyrians spoke Akkadian, not Iranian languages. It was the Kurds who spoke the Iranian languages because they originate from Iran, or ancient Media. Assyrians didn't worship persian gods they practiced Ashurism which was the official religion of the neo-assyrian empire. When St. Thomas the Apostle created the Church of the East in around 33-40 A.D.The Assyrians who practiced Ashurism (hence the term "Ashuraye" which means Assyian in neo-aramiac) adopted Christianity.

@psmx7 Also, I forgot to mention, around 14-15th century, a Kurdish historian by the name of Sharaf Khan Al-Bedlissi stated in his book titled "Sharafnameh" that there were Christians in the Zur district. He called them Ashuri. Now Ashuri is a derivative of Ashuraye, which comes from Ashur. The people of Mesopotamia called them Ashuraye because some of them continued to practice ashurism well after Christ. Ashuraye in arabic literally translates to Assyrian.

@Assyriandude3 the Median empire was not conquered by the Parthian empire but Achaemenid Empire, Parthia come to existance after the fall of the Seleucid Empire, and the origin of Kurds is very mixed, once in that region, Caucasian tribes eixted such as Hurrians and Gutians , the Medians iranized and colonised that region, thus resulting a people called proto-Kurds, so Kurds are natives of northern mespotamia and they lived there long before semitic akkadians came from Arabia into mespotamia.
