you are playing the choro part amizingly but I think you should play the first part ( the part before the choro) with stronger bass sound and more slowly -but Bravo man you are veary good.
I really enjoyed this piece, played beautifully. Somehow I have overlooked this Barrios piece, so it's been a great to discover something so wonderful.
This is a really thoughtful interpretation of one of the absolute gems of the guitar repertoire. I guess you're an amateur but it only shows occasionally. I appreciate the way you slow down the third section - it's better to get all the notes than to collapse under the weight of some really difficult left hand fingering. A lot of people don't realize just how hard it is to ply a piece as long and as difficult as this one in front of a camera without making a mistake. Well done.
I really think you did an awesome job! You played in perfect timing and perfect technical execution, and in the contemporary respecting the dynamic of the piece. A worthy of the great scene exhibition!

hi, how could you tell he plays without nails? i'm just a beginner, but i've got a hell of time with my nails as they are too fragile and keep on breaking all the time. maybe i should learn to play without them..i'm thankful for any piece of advice.
I found that on the one hand flesh only improved my RH technique, because it's easier to play with nails, but on the other hand when I played in concert, because of the adrenalin rush you get my fingers would sweat and so the flesh sound was damp and unpredictable. With nails my RH sound is much more secure and consistent. The only problem is when a nail splinters . That's why i don't have my nails too long and very occasionaly I'll rub the nails with olive or almond oil.
There are players today who do play without nails. In fact both Tarrega and Sor played without nails! Grow the nails only up to the point where they support the flesh. The advantage is that your sound will be mellow and sweet but the disadvantage is that you'll have a smaller palette of sound colours because the nails can produce well defined sounds.
One trick is to place a,m,i fingers on the E, B,G strings as if you're about to play an arpeggio and squeeze the strings hard till the strings leave a groove on the flesh under the nails. Then file the nails in line with that indent. Finally round off the edges. The aim should be for all fingers to make the same sound when they strike the same string. There's no gospel on any of this of course.
you are a wonderful guitarist and i think you are also using a wonderful guitar...i wish i could afford one! the tone is just amazing. i bet it lends itself to jazz, bossa nova...
@eddypfunk why not learning to build one? :) i´m going to my guitar crafting class right now, I love it, and I highly recommend it, best wishes. Facundo (arg)
very nice interpretation..so many wreck beautiful pieces on youtube...very good musicality and expression....and this piece is one of my faves also :)
Good playing , you have to take the Re# or Mi b on the second mouvement , i think we don `thave to change the original note of Barrios.this is not a transcription.
many guitarists don't actually play this note- they play it an octave higher (because it's really hard). It's his choice whether to play it or not. I don't think you should keep on pester people about their method of playing.
The score I learned gives a double choice, and I decided to play that particolar passage an octave higher (following the score) because my left hand is very very small and there no way to stretch it more. I would not have played this piece at all if I did not find this score with the alternative choice.
@cjbsexx i meant D-enough with the classical snobbery already! i have learned so much from watching blndgtrst videos..thanks for the excellent resource!!
Very nice. I see you also flee away from the worst stretch grips. I have solved the problem by using 'thumb over', it works well and doesn't require this painfull index deformation.
Bravo Dude.
Been meaning to record this one for the tube myself . . one day soon I hope.
So difficult to play it through without mishap.
Encore!!

I have tried several times to play without nails, but, unfortunately a very bad and thin sound comes without nails and it is very difficult to play .

IT's ok, but you have to remember this is a 'folk' piece, the second part i think it was not correct on the rhythmic figures. Keep working

nice song played buy good guitarist but i dont understand. Where he ''cheated''?
Srbinn21 3 years ago
At 1:41 there's a very difficult strech, where you're supposed to play the chord he plays, with a Eb bass note.
He didn't play it.
(Eb is the 1st note on the biggest string)

I saw in concert the French guitarist Arnaud Dumont (brisemenu on YouTube) playing this difficult note with the chin!
