The battle system is pretty much perfect and doesn't really need to change. And each game adds on more features which increase the amount of gameplay time even further than before. So they're not the same each time...

Besides, Final Fantasy series seems to use the active time battle system a lot and I don't see anyone complaining...

They just have the characters bump and shift from their positions, and that symbolizes an attack? What about the battle system is perfect? Pokemon that don't even fight & are swithed out at the beginning become stronger. How? THAT's garbage. How do you become stronger without fighting? They need help and MUCH work on the games

@RamzaBeoulve02 Those are the rules, if it joins the battle (and doesn't faint), it gets EXP. I don't see a problem... Certain Pokemon like Magikarp can't fight on their own. And alot of other RPG's do this too. The pokemon animations that symbolize attacks are fine. If you don't like them, turn the battle scene off. The battle system is pretty much perfect... instead of changing it, each game adds much more depth to pokemon's already great battle system. I don't understand what's bad about it.
