The chemicals are the difference? Not the fact that we're consuming more high-calorie products and not moving enough? Chemicals aren't that much different from what they used to be. Chemicals are simply what make up a product. Beef is beef is beef. The "chemicals" that make up beef aren't different from 50 years ago. It's more accessible and our modes of transportation don't allow us to move as much.
I know about the veggie's and what not and meat... but what about dairy and grain.... where can you get that without it being chemically processed??? I have been buying fruits and veggies but i have 3 kids.... what do i do for the rest of the food groups??? Oh and i also switched from nasty vegetable oil to olive oil!

But when my family picks up fast food i just tell them that im gonna eat at home cuz if u have seen the movie Supersize me u wud know and i ask my mom to buy me vegetables which i eat plain with no dipping junk!!! why do people think counting calories is so difficult? You can eat WHATEVER you want as long as the calories you consume are less than your body needs. As long as the meals are somewhat balanced. If you are on a 2500 calorie a day diet, you don't want to consume it all in bacon!

Not sure if it has been discussed, but the PORTION SIZE has increased dramatically over last 40-50 years. Just Google portion size, and you will know. And of course fast food. But i know of a friend, who always eats out every single meal, works at computer whole day, but lean as stick. May be he has high metabolism.

I love this video!! I think you have a VERY good point. Evolutionary, our bhody can't be made for eating processed food. Yet there is also another reason....those American super sized meals and supoer greasy and fat stuff. Chemicals regulate your metabolism, it doesn't necessary "make you fat" of course natural foods are healthy for you. People gain weight for two reasons, one being lack of exercise and the other is consuming more calories than you can burn off in a day. You should be encouraging people to count calories too. Because if they are eating all these natural foods they still have calories and sugars. They could end up taking in too many calories and don't know why they aren't losing weight.
a little extra cost is a small price to pay for the future. Junk food is inexpensive not because it's cheap to make but because it sells better than natural products. If more people bought natural and organic, those good products would become less expensive. Companies really do pay attention to what sells. Buying healthy food is like voting for that food to cost less. So don't be afraid to spend a little extra!
soda (pop - i am British ;-) ) also contains chemicals that prevent you from having a good nights sleep, sounds rubbish but i saw a nutrionalist and drank diet pepsi because of zero calories and had been having bad nights sleep for years, she told me to cut them out, just have a tea at bed there are lots of decafinated teas hot or cold and i went from being wide awake for hours thinking for years i had insomnia to being able to fall asleep in 20 minutes, and tea really is zero calories!

I'm french and I can swear that the reason why French are not as fat as Americans is because we eat very light food such as fish and vegetables . She's right - eat REAL vegetables and fruits - try to make your own bread, or sweets because you know what you'll eat and you alone can control the amount of fat and sugar you take.
Don't drink soda - try water or unsweetend tea. It may have funny taste at first, but after few days, when you try some of the food you USED to eat will be too salty, too sweet, too much everything.
I'm trying to go more natural...but I really can't get myself to eat many veggies. My fav thing is Sunbutter (natural "peanut butter" but instead of peanuts it's made with sunflower seeds)..mmm. It has no transfatty acids or anything like that just sunflower seeds and some cane juice to make it spreadable.
it is not as simple as calories in vs calories used. The form that the calories are taken and your own physiology do matter. Also the calories that are usable and how you body uses them is quite different for cooked foods vs raw.
I don't know much about chemicals in foods but i buy organic as much as possible and I eat a 90% or better raw diet of mostly fruits. It works for me as I've never felt better in my life. I recommend it.

Hi, I have lived in Italy for 4 yrs. I know there are people over there who think they are fat but seriously,when you come here and see the people are HUGE!!! I was so use to seeing Italian people that I was in shock for almost a month when I came here. Comparatively what Italian say fat is just like 30lbs extra nothing like over here. They eat croissont and all but they have a secret that you have to be there to notice, and that is they just nibble on it. Seriously they eat micro portions!!!
i actually have a book that tells you what things are and what there for like e numbers and chemicals etc. Its really really useful to have it just takes ages to do the shopping. I did do this but now i just get the same stuff every week because i know it "safeish" to eat but it causes to much havoc because now i worry about everything in my food. I definetly went OTT, but in moderation this is a very good idea.

She's right, you do lose weight. All the horrible craving go away when you eat natural and organic foods. I lost about 50 lbs eating organic foods and I even ate cookies and ice cream.

I am eating healthier Oh, & the diet soda, I have to say I don't know what they put in them, but I tried it to cut calories & break myself off of the soda. Just because the brocolli doesn't have a label doesn't mean it isn't full of preservatives and growth enhancers, bug repellent for when they're growing, fertiliser etc. A lot better for you than all those other brands but still not completely pure. Only your own home grown organic food can gaurantee that.

Not sure if it has been discussed, but the PORTION SIZE has increased dramatically over last 40-50 years. Just Google portion size, and you will know. And of course fast food. But i know of a friend, who always eats out every single meal, works at computer whole day, but lean as stick. May be he has high metabolism.

I love this video!! I think you have a VERY good point. Evolutionary, our bhody can't be made for eating processed food. Yet there is also another reason....those American super sized meals and supoer greasy and fat stuff. I think both of it is a reason.Also, people are getting so body consicous because of the image the media creates. Look at those pin up girls from the 50s and 60s. They were like a size 10 or 12 not a size 0! So I guess I'm saying a lot of people don't feel well in their body

Chemicals regulate your metabolism, it doesn't necessary "make you fat" of course natural foods are healthy for you. People gain weight for two reasons, one being lack of exercise and the other is consuming more calories than you can burn off in a day. You should be encouraging people to count calories too. Because if they are eating all these natural foods they still have calories and sugars. They could end up taking in too many calories and don't know why they aren't losing weight.

a little extra cost is a small price to pay for the future. Junk food is inexpensive not because it's cheap to make but because it sells better than natural products. If more people bought natural and organic, those good products would become less expensive. Companies really do pay attention to what sells. Buying healthy food is like voting for that food to cost less. So don't be afraid to spend a little extra!

soda (pop - i am British ;-) ) also contains chemicals that prevent you from having a good nights sleep, sounds rubbish but i saw a nutrionalist and drank diet pepsi because of zero calories and had been having bad nights sleep for years, she told me to cut them out, just have a tea at bed there are lots of decafinated teas hot or cold and i went from being wide awake for hours thinking for years i had insomnia to being able to fall asleep in 20 minutes, and tea really is zero calories!

I'm french and I can swear that the reason why French are not as fat as Americans is because we eat very light food such as fish and vegetables . Moreover, most of people who eat croissant etc are tourist ! But I went in America and it's almost impossible to find dietary and natural food ! Only fast food ! The government must find a way to reduce people's fat intake !

@littlegiant1972 I have heard that in Germany if your destination is less than a mile, you walk or ride a bike. NOt sure if that is true or not. That is hardly seen here in the US.

She's right - eat REAL vegetables and fruits - try to make your own bread, or sweets because you know what you'll eat and you alone can control the amount of fat and sugar you take.
Don't drink soda - try water or unsweetend tea. It may have funny taste at first, but after few days, when you try some of the food you USED to eat will be too salty, too sweet, too much everything.
Then you'll know you made a good choice!

I'm trying to go more natural...but I really can't get myself to eat many veggies. My fav thing is Sunbutter (natural "peanut butter" but instead of peanuts it's made with sunflower seeds)..mmm. It has no transfatty acids or anything like that just sunflower seeds and some cane juice to make it spreadable.

it is not as simple as calories in vs calories used. The form that the calories are taken and your own physiology do matter. Also the calories that are usable and how you body uses them is quite different for cooked foods vs raw.
I don't know much about chemicals in foods but i buy organic as much as possible and I eat a 90% or better raw diet of mostly fruits. It works for me as I've never felt better in my life. I recommend it.

indeed, diet coke / and all the other pop's etc. the sweetners they use contain loads of shitty chemicals. these chemicals mess with your hormones. they actualy grow MORE FAT STORING CELLS. and they also leave you craving more of these sweetners, and stuff like crisps etc.

and it is true, when I decreased my chemical consumption I lost about 7 pounds in my first week!
And while losing weight and eating mostly salads and stuff like that I felt that I have so much more energy than I usually do, it's the spirit energy!!!! when I felt good about myself it literally gave me more energy!!

first off fatness or weight gain is not an epidemic if anyone thinks other wise go reasearch it ya tards! secondly every thing has chemicals in them. lastly the reason y everyone is getting fat is because the food is fattening and less and less people work out.. by the way the best way to lose weight is not diet but exercise only and thats a fact my fat friends

Jeez, here is someone who actually gets it. If you consume more calories than you use, you will keep the kcal in storage (fat). Not to say that we don not have too many chemicals in our foods; that is a fact. But fat fucks always look for a scapegoat to blame. What is a curious thing indeed is a fatbody that consumes too much of the healthful stuff, not understanding the good ole tried and true calories in-calories used rule.

The only person whose going to take care of your health is you, why put it in the hands of someone else? Most of the chemicals they put in the food is to make cheap devitalized mulch look and taste like food.

more NATURAL foods such as organics (which the brocolli she had was organic if you read the sign) Yes, Americans are lazy and busy and don't have time to grow their own..but honestly thats what is most healthy for us and what was intended. Just saying...shes absolutely right. The chemicals are killing us, giving us diseases and all kinds of other stuff. Just be careful out there what you're putting into your body!!!!!

umm okay well I see both negatives and positives here but just fyi, since I'm studying this right now. It does have A WHOLE LOT to do with all of the chemicals and preservatives pumped into the foods (especially steroids in meats..thats why 7 yr olds are growing breasts) of course to lose weight you have to watch calories and add excercise but you must also eat healthier,

i've been doing this and slowly getting myself onto raw foods (at about 80% there now) and you are right, it DOES work! I lost 80+ lbs from it :)

Good video. People need to eat as much organic veggies (all kinds), wild game (meat) if you must have meat, fresh water and lots of excercise. Avoid most vaccines and remember: " M.D.'s kill more people (wrong treatment) than bullets!

Hi, I have lived in Italy for 4 yrs. I know there are people over there who think they are fat but seriously,when you come here and see the people are HUGE!!! I was so use to seeing Italian people that I was in shock for almost a month when I came here. Comparatively what Italian say fat is just like 30lbs extra nothing like over here. They eat croissont and all but they have a secret that you have to be there to notice, and that is they just nibble on it. Seriously they eat micro portions!!!

i actually have a book that tells you what things are and what there for like e numbers and chemicals etc. Its really really useful to have it just takes ages to do the shopping. I did do this but now i just get the same stuff every week because i know it "safeish" to eat but it causes to much havoc because now i worry about everything in my food. I definetly went OTT, but in moderation this is a very good idea.

She's right, you do lose weight. All the horrible craving go away when you eat natural and organic foods. I lost about 50 lbs eating organic foods and I even ate cookies and ice cream.

I wish she'd mentioned glutamate. It is the chemical found in mono sodium glutamate or MSG. The sodium is not the problem.
Glutamate is an appetite stimulator. When researchers study diabetes, they need obese mice. Well mice are not naturally obese; just like humans. So they pump them full of glutamate to get them to eat more.
Get glutamate out of your diet and your appetite will return to normal.

Vegetables and fruits that are genetically modified are not good for you and they do not have an ingredient label. Fruits and vegetables yes, Certified ORGANIC.
Great idea, but grow your own to be sure or verify it is organic and not Round Up ready like 80% of the nations corn..

I agree we should read the labels I just started doing this. I am eating healthier Oh, & the diet soda, I have to say I don't know what they put in them, but I tried it to cut calories & break myself off of the soda. During that week I gained 2 pounds & started disliking healthy foods, & craved sugar & fats So instead I went to a zero soda one a day, & did an overdose of water to break the caffeine headache. It worked! I crave water now If you drink diet soda you will gain, weight &/or cravings

Just because the brocolli doesn't have a label doesn't mean it isn't full of preservatives and growth enhancers, bug repellent for when they're growing, fertiliser etc. A lot better for you than all those other brands but still not completely pure. Only your own home grown organic food can gaurantee that.
