  • the music is a tad too loud. It almost drowns you out.

  • buddy upanishad is not a hobby

  • May I know the music you used in this video.

  • the audio is terrible which is a shame dude, i would have liked to watched this. try a low pass filter on the audio

  • speak faster

  • @smurfieboo Ever listen to Eckhart Tolle? He makes frequent use of pauses. The point is that the silence is as significant as the speech. In fact, it is far more so, since the purpose of the speech is to indicate the presence of silent awareness. Those who resonate with that method of teaching appreciate the opportunity to practice patience and recollect themselves in the silence.

  • The revelation of the Vedic Scriptures, by one, Me, who is an initiating guru, who has been initiated in accordance with disciplic succession, by a bonafide guru, who has seen the Living Truth, and therefore is able to pass the Truth on to someone else, in the Essence of the Tradition of the Science of God, and the Realization of the Self by direct Perception of the Truth. There is no other way. There is no other way. That being said, my brother. Speak My Word, and Hear the Vedas.

  • @Loki7409 this 'guru' has his entire channel dedicated to the worship of girls feet. definitely a guru fit for the Kali yug

  • since time immemorial, and having done thus The Purpose of the Vedas are instantly carried out, and practically applied in perfect reception. I know where of I speak. Having thus surrendered unto Him, the Lord Original, and the Actual Compiler of the Vedas, and all spoken sounds which actually do expound the Vedas in Truth, are to be Authorized Vedic Scripture. Upanishads, is a perfect term. So what do we know? And is it knowledge that we seek? What are the Vedas? How do you reveal the Mystic?

  • tree cannot actually be percieved in the material world. But it is nourished by the three modes of passion, and its leaves are the Vedic Hymns. One should search this tree out, as you are doing, or have done, or something...doesnt matter. But you should upon finding this tree, using the sharp axe of detatchment, which is actually a Vedic Weapon, if you hear me. You should cut this tree down, then, and there surrender to the Supreme Person, from which all knowledge, and all things have flown.....

  • opposite and everything else, with all the reasons as to cause and effect. The Vedas, are to be understood through the Upanishads as you have said, and Yes the Upanishads, which expound the Vedic Scriptures, are non different to the Actual Vedas. Now as for the expounding of the vedas themselves. It is said somewhere in the Bhagavad Gita, that there is an imperishable banyan tree, which grows with its roots upward and its leaves downward, and basically it reveals that the real form of the.....

  • Ok.....brother. I am grateful always for any attempt to expound the the Vedas or the Upanishads, or anyother bonafide scripture concerning the age old question of the reltionship between us and the supreme, who we are, who he is, and all the other causes and effects inbetween. But it should first be realized the when you speak of the initiated or uninitiated, you speak of undefineable things, the one who is truly initiated into the Vedic Science of Perfect Self-realization, has recieved....part1

  • Dear simex909,

Hindu scriptures are for every one.Nobody have proprietary rights over it.But plz make sure dat u understood the exact essence of it

  • Tanx for uploading this video bro!!!! AUM NAMA SIVAYA!!!

  • This guy is very enjoyable to watch....

What ever you do, don't cut your hair and beard.

  • I think that you tackled the most Sacred Works of man, (Our spiritual scriptures), with humility , clarity and an evenness of mind. Personally I often appreciate being able to listen rather than read, at the end of a long day; As such I appreciate people such of yourself who are willing to put themselves on the Front line of Public opinion , to simply spread great wisdom, without any evangelizing. Thanks!

  • You should at least pronounce the word "upanishad" correctly. I know it sounds nitpicky, but mispronouncing the name of your topic only undermines what you claim to understand.

  • Do I make it seem like I'm some sort of authority? I'm just a hobbyist, and I only read about this stuff, so yeah, pronunciation never comes up, since it's not tied to understanding.

  • Honestly, you do kind of make yourself seem to be a bit more than a hobbyist. As a follower of the Upanishads, I'm simply being honest, though I admit my original comment was harsher than intended, and for that I am sorry.

With respect, I disagree that pronunciation is not tied to understanding. It reflects careful examination. If I tried to tell you about my experiences in Canada but pronounced all the A's in Canada long, would you believe I'd ever been there?

But peace. I like your videos.

  • @simex909 Hi there, look for devarsi on the main page are a lot of links to download Vaishnava literature, including the original sanskrit, roman transliterations, synonims

  • @simex909 Hi there, look for devarsi on the main page are a lot of links to download Vedic Vaishnava literature, including the original sanskrit, roman transliterations, purports e.g. a feast for the mind and atman

  • He pronounced it PERFECTLY

  • It's "oo"-panishads, not "you"-panishads. And the "a" is like the "a" in "father", not the "a" in "cat". Google it.

  • anyone who understands Hinduism properly would realise that the word is just what a particular language of people have named the book and has no importance.

things like what you have just said is why there is so many wars in the world.

"god is called allah, no god is called YHVH" dont "nitpick" over details........

    its very wrong.

  • @LeoHareMusic - He has done great job and expanding knowledge of Upanishads to all. Do not criticize him, come up with a better video, if you really care to improve the message. Namaste

  • has anyone come across upanishads with ramanujas commentary, all oif them i have come across is in some way shankaras

  • remove the music dude. focus more on content rather than unnecessary spice!

  • hindus dont pray they meditate, all this praying crap cam efrom outside india!

  • Krishna describes four paths, one of which is in fact praying (bhakti yoga) This he recommends for the masses. The meditation and knowledge path cannot be undertaken by everyone for it requires considerable time and effort. Krishna himself says not to preach Gyan yoga to anyone unless they specifically ask for it.

  • Unless you see a guru, trying to study and practice Vedanta is totally useless. Upanishads is not for everybody, only for a very select few high caste priests.

  • Sorry, you are wrong there, knowledge is for every one, not just afew men who want a monolopy for their own profit. Vedanta included!

  • Nonsense.

  • Can u suggest some introductory material for the Upanishads.I want a book with the quotations and commentary with simple words, not too much of jargon and mumbo jumbo.

  • If you are interested in the essence of the teaching read "I am that". A good book on the philosophical background to the teaching is "Maha Yoga" by Lakshmana Sharma.

  • Sudarshan Raj Tiwari in his book The Brick and the Bull, 2002 (Pg. 23) states, The similarities among the cultural practices of bygone days leave little doubt that the Kirats(indo-mongoloid)did indeed came from the Indus-Saraswati Valley.

-----> The Manusmriti identifies the Kiratas as one of the eleven tribes who inhabited the Indus-Saraswoti region.

-----> watch the video "Connexion of Mongolia-Kirat:Revealing the Mystery of Origin of Phallus Stone Worship" and you decide!!!!

  • go to my page and find bhagavad gita and other vedic books. All free pdf downloads

  • Nice video thanks

  • good job,

  • Everyone can talk their opion taurausbull

  • Namaste!

I live near Boston, and I'm not a philosophy major, just a seeker of truth. I might do Kena next, that's a good one.

Thanks for the kind words, friend.

  • Well thanks for trying man. So you say there is not documentary on this on youtube... do you know of a documentary I could either order or watch somewhere else online? I'm very much interested in this but I don't know where to start. I'm thinking of just ordering a book on the Upanishads.

  • lies lies and lies as always

  • it's not a lie taurausbull. If someone who can proved with strongest evidence what we can say end?

  • it is not worth wasteing time to disprove a lie which was and is an absolute lie to begin with. why should the monotheistic religions like yours and those of abraham should care to read the books of polytheistic religion like hinduism. you are not welcomed here.

  • muhammad si mentioned in bhavishya puran (future book) of hindus written 2000 yr. before islam.

Muhammad is mentioned as MAHAMMADA which meand evil man having great ego, not only that its is written that he will establish a religion of demons ( which he did)

i am not cooking it up on my own..please go and google bhavishya puran and read yourself about muhammad in bhavish yapuran ( future purana)

  • so what are the Upanishids? I can't understand this guy. I need some serious documentary on this.

    Thank you.

  • Sorry. I made these videos because there wasn't a "serious documentary" on youtube about the Upanishads.

Upanishads are the philosophical reconciliation of the earlier vedic texts. If you don't know what that means, you need to start at the beginning with something like an introduction to Hinduism.

If you want more specifics about the Upanishads, I strongly suggest that you read the Swami Nikhilananda translations. His introductions and explanations are excellent.

  • part2, anyway they have recieved that very science of the self, through disciplic succession, meaning it is impossible to truly understand the vedas as they are without the initiating guru who is in the line of disciplic succession, as the vedas were passed down, and still, rareley though are even to this day. Vedic science and all the commentary about that Supreme Science, are to be considered as you have said both ritual, and result. Path, and Goal. Cause and effect. Opposite and everything...

  • lol,me too!!

  • just do some research on the net ;) Basically its somthing about the counciess of life.

    Sowas muesste das sein :p

  • @Claudia2288 try Wikipedia.

  • There are not two but many many parts within Hinduism, some often contradicting each other. But that's okay for Hinduism since whichever way you reach God and become one with him that is your choice. Either choose to just meditate forget all idols OR choose to follow path of knowledge to realize god OR choose devotion(Bhakti) to a manifest form(idol) of god and get obsessed with God and other paths. Choice of approach is yours.

  • if I make the choice by myself and pursue a path, how do I know if I am following the right one?

  • To suttar 1800,

There isn't right/wrong approach, choose what fits your way of living. If U r a worldly man working & with family den U follow devotion(Bhakti) as a path b'coz falling in love with god & chanting(japa) god's name while driving, going in a subway or daily chores is easy. If U hav renounced the worldly existence then you meditate in secluded spot for long hours but how many can do that? Using Guru as guide is risky b'coz how U know he isn't fake? learn from books instead of guru.

  • Ramakrishna said "there is more than one way to get to the roof of the house: stairs, ladder, etc..." Nisargadatta Maharaj says "If you remain earnest, you will reach your goal." He also says that the "inner guru" is the true guru. I tend to agree with both of these guys. As long as you are always seeking earnestly, you can only move closer to your goal, though there are many paths to take. Not that I'm any sort of authority on spiritual practice, but this approach has worked for me.

    Peace.

  • you don't, Only thing you can do is ACT (Karma), the result is dependent on your karma. But don't let the "hopes" of results affect your karma.

  • Great information Bra but too monotone in your presentation. You should redo the videos

in a faster more energetic way.

It's great you're teaching the Vedic wisdom!

    Thanks!

  • "In the Vedas the emphasis has always been on praying directly to God and to no other being (Atharva Veda 20:85:1). In Vedas there is no mention of idol worship or praying before other images of God, and in fact, one Veda mantra specifically states that omnipresent but formless God cannot be adequately represented by an image, such as an idol or a picture (Yajur Veda 32:3)," (The Essence of the Hindu Religion, By Sudhir Anand)

  • Did I make it sound like Hinduism or the Vedas were polytheistic? I'm thinking about redoing this video. How would you describe the relationship and the differences between the Upanishads and the Vedas? (Yes I know that the Upanishads are technically part of the vedas.)

  • Well there are two groups of Hindus. Those who believe you can pray to the one God through idols. Another group that believes you can only pray to the one God without any impermanent objects that means against all forms of idol worship. That is through meditation. I follow the latter.

  • In regards to the relationship between the Vedas and Upanishads, from my understand they are different documents. The Vedas are inspired works of Rushis who were enlightened. The Upanishads were written by Rushis that practiced what was in the Vedas and later themselves were enlightened. Some view it as enlightened commentary on the Vedas.

  • Ok. I don't think I contradicted any of that in this video. I know about the saguna / nirguna Brahman dichotomy, but I think it is too complicated of a concept to introduce in the first video of the series. I'm making these for people who know nothing about Sanatana Dharma. These videos are going to wind up being heavily biased towards the path of meditation and nirguna Brahman, because that's what the Upanishads are about, imo. The 4th video introduces the idea of things being nirguna. Shanti.

  • ...Also, if you watch the other videos, feel free to make comments if you think I'm misrepresenting Sanatana Dharama in any way.

  • I think you are doing a good job. I posted my initial comments for others to read. Just in case they didn't get it. Nice job.

  • what ?? two divisions in Hinduism ? there is nothing like that. Hinduism is not a religion, it is a philosophy !

  • Religion or philosophy that is your view. My point is there are two main groups in Hinduism. One group that prays to God through idols and another that prays to God with meditation, no idols. The way the Upanishads teach us to pray.

  • there is no clear division like that, rather there are tens of different groups and each one has their own belief , but at the core, all are same.

  • Well there is one group that already states itself to be monotheistic and that is Arya Samaj. I personally don't follow them. I follow religion on my own understanding, but there are groups out there who are strictly monotheistic and Arya Samaj is an example.

  • yes they are one of these groups, they dont believe in idol worship, they follow SWAMI DAYANAND SARAAWATI. But at the core, they are all same as I said before. But these groups just represent the outer crust of Hinduism- which, in reality is much difficult to understand.

  • I have been to Arya Samaj temples, they don't follow Dayanand Sarawati, they follow God. Dayanand Sarawati was just a teacher.

  • I don't think he was saying that there are only two paths or groups in Sanatana Dharma, only that it's a dichotomy you can make between groups. The beliefs in Sanatana Dharma constitute a broad spectrum, and where you draw the lines between the groups is entirely up to the individual, since the line exists only in their mind. But of course, they are, like all things, just expressions of the one, which no system of thought can ever hope to conceptualise. ekam sad vipra bahudha.

  • no one in hinduism teaches you how to pray.. its your personal choise if you believe in God or not..and it doesn't amke you a sinner anyways. there are innumerable ways to reach Moksha and the easiest way is bhakti in which is total devotion and surrender and purest form of love.

even if you meditate or get viraktah you get moksh without believing in God. As God is not a person ..its a quality (like space, truth and time) in hinduism.n it doesn't ahrm a quality if u don't believe in that

  • Hi, You are doing a great job. One problem that you may face is that some of the concepts are so interlinked that explaining it to a beginner is quite difficult. I hope you will cover topics like 'Advaita', 'Dvaita' and breifly explain the differences.

  • OMG THAT PAINTING IS SO HOTT ON YOUR WALLL!!!!!!!!'

Make more videos Bro, you nver explained it to me like that in person, whussup? :-P

p.s. i just got out of jail, for nothing, WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKK!!??!?!?!?

  • Ok, man, I think I'm going to record the next one today.
