  • i never saw anyone eat a hamburger so artistically

  • He's making me hungry even though I'm already eating.

  • sane, just quirky! What's wrong with that? :). Most of us are a little weird at times anyway! Everyone I meet has odd behavior but still seem normal. I don't know how to put this across properly, so I hope people get what I mean :)

  • Yes he was strange. But that doesn't mean that there was something seriously wrong with him. Some people are just strange but that doesn't mean asylum strange. He is just different and original and that's how he is. He had some mental disorders I think and I'm weird and have mental problems too. But that doesn't mean we are step so far into 'weird' we should be locked up! He knows how to eat a hamburger and eat it right without going crazy or throwing it or anything. I think he is perfectly sa

  • 1. Pause this video at: 0:12 and mute the sound.

    2. Open a new Tab and search on YouTube: Requiem for a Dream Remix - Clint Mansell.

    3. Choose the first one.

    4. Play it and then play this video at the same time.

    5. Enjoy!

    ~Eating a Hamburger was never so Good!~

  • who filmed this?

  • 2000 hipsters are now dipping their burgers in ketchup..

  • Damn, now I'm hungry.

  • god damnit, now I want a cheeseburger

  • Fantastic short film there. Had all the ingredients a good film needs. Suspense, intrigue, and epic climax. A taut thriller. Yes, I said taut. Hate that damn word.

  • mit tun alle leid die es fertig geschaut haben

  • he took the bun off to put ketchup on the side of the paper, NOW THAT"S ART

  • anyone else creeped the hell out?

  • @silviaman99 Yeah, I would imagine he would drive someone insane if they were locked up with him for more than a day.

  • THIS IS AN ART..

    NOTHING FALSE IN ART..

DEAD PEOPLE ALSO CAN BACK TO LIFE IN ART..

EVERY DISAPPEAR THING CAN BE FOUNDING IN ART..

    THIS IS ART

  • Marta Minujin haria lo mismo, es una copia de Warhol.

  • Admirable

  • @schulleee lol

  • what a stupid haircut

  • what the fuck did i just watch ?

  • Andy Warhol was kind of a dumbass.

  • @hokans777 he was smart enough to be able to make a portrait and then repeat the exact same image over 50 times in a heartbeat. I would like to see if you were smart enough to do that.

  • TOO DEEP FOR ME.

  • Did I seriously just watch someone eat a hamburger?

  • @badgey ha. I feel kind of Rick Rolled.

  • I was trying to locate Dee as he wanted to purchase the bunch of drawings by Jean Michel Basquiat...if you locate him Aron please ask him to email me for my phone #...I don't want them anymore...

  • para que abre la hamburguesa si no le tira ketchup encima?

  • haha as much as people hate him they still talk about him and because of that he will thus be forever famous.

  • Энди рулит!)

  • haha i love him! he's showing how anyone can be famous for anything, and people will watch anything, even something as stupid as eating a hamburger :)

  • hurr, i can photoshop soup can lids

gimme 5000000000 dollars you pretentious morons

  • My name is Andy Warhol and welcome to Jackass

  • er ist schwul

  • THE BEST 4.32 minutes of my life!

  • In my opinion if Andy Warhol hadn't eaten that hamburger we would not have had Snooki. Think about it.

  • @MrThery89 wait, wat?

  • Everyone is missing the real meaning. It has nothing to do with eating a burger it's the fact that he didn't have any fries that tells us the most.

  • seems so sad...

  • 4.32 minutes wasted in my life..

  • thats the art behind it people watching it and talking about it,even though he just eats a Burger!

  • why am I watching this man having every bite of a burger? ....wow.. silly

  • Comment removed

  • I really hate arty people! Most pretentious creatures on the earth.

  • If only he could have been around for when the internet really kicked off. Imagine this guy with a youtube channel. (shudders) :L

  • @ConbonJD the man did call it. he said that in the future, we'll all get our 15 minutes of fame. and oh, half a century later and we have youtube... now, everyone's trying to be famous.

  • He is forcing himself to finish the whole burger...

  • Fight Club brought me here...

  • I can't believe people call this art. If I was to film myself eating for a full 4 minutes would people call that art?

  • Strange cat but a Cool cat. I remember seeing a lot of Andy when I was growing up.

  • It looks like he's sitting alone at lunch time lol :/ But kudos to him for being an awesome artist! :)

  • that's so weird, because when I was in high school, on days I got the cheeseburger, I used to dip it in the ketchup, rather than applying it on the bun... I wonder if I can sell a painting for $100 million...

  • which year was this,77?

  • he lifted up the top of the bread, but he put the sauce on the side of the wrapper instead.

  • anything a hyped up hipster does is considered "ART"

    lol

  • The only people who ever want to deny that something is art are people who have no idea what art is. This is a little glimpse into a fleeting moment in 1980s New York City, a glimpse into the little easy to overlook idiosyncracies that make an individual an individual. It's adorable, and it's not pretending to be anything but that. People need to stop being so intimidated by art.

  • He actually never really dips that burger in the ketchup i mean at the end nearly all of the sauce remains on the paper. And why doesn't he put it right on the burger?

  • @60s4everdude Because if he put the ketchup right ON the burger, that wouldn't be a very creative way to eat it :P

  • Who the fuck dips a burger into sauce???????

  • @IAMKINDAGOD I do, just like Andy Warhol :)

  • WoW! Taking off the top to get more of a meat to bun ratio = Genius stuff, Sir Andy Waaarhoool. Truely inspiring!

  • I never thought of dunking a burger in sauce like that before. This has truely been an inspirational and motivational video for me. Thank you so much, Sir Andy Waaarhoool.

  • Ich weiß wasn Orgasmus is (Ulrike)

  • I believe in myself but I really didnT get the whole Burger

  • People need to stop arguing whether Andy Warhol did this to show something, and whether or not it has a deeper meaning. Truth is, Warhol didn't do this at all. This is a scene from Danish documentarist Jørgen Leth's "66 Scenes from America."

Andy Warhol was told to eat a burger for the camera, as one of Leth's 66 scenes from America. You can even see he's a bit uncomfortable because it wasn't his own doing and Burger King is out of his nature. So stop arguing why he did it; it's not his work.

  • @darthguy3 Really now?

  • @367c Yep!

  • Why does he dip the burger in ketchup? Don't you put the ketchup between the meat and the bun? o.O

  • Sorry, did I miss the point here?

  • Andy, you prick, you're supoosed to shake the bottle BEFORE you open it!

  • @mistofoles Not to mention the fact he takes the top off the burger, and puts the ketchup on the wrapper next to the burger.

  • Don't miss the amazing sequel "ANDY WARHOL DRINKS A PEPSI"!

  • wait a few years and they'll have the squeeze bottle lol :) :) :) :) :)

  • @lanasmith1 lmao i was thinking just that!!!!

  • great advertising before the video youtube thx youtube

  • He'd have been better chewing on a horse cock

  • oh, he really eats the whole hamburger... -.-

  • I thought i was the only one who dipped their hamburger in ketchup :o

  • he looks like a gay

  • What Andy Warhol want to tell us by using this show?

  • @zlhiauo He wanted to show everybody that anything can be presented as an art. Reaction to Andy Warhol’s video of himself eating a hamburger reveals humanity's desire for meaning. It is nothing more than a man eating a hamburger. Ironically, this makes it psychologically confronting for viewers who want to believe a great artist has a message to impart. People will try to find the greater meaning or message but in the end this video is just a man eating a hamburger, nothing more.

  • @Ausiz OIC, he told us that everyone can be famous just by standing in front of a camera and do something. I thought that he wanna tell us something from his eating.

  • AH if only Andy Warhol could see how many people watched this video and some of these comments. I can bet that he would be laughing at us. :)

  • I think the meaning behind it is that he was eating a hamburger.

  • @thehappiestcamper and maybe that he was hungry.

  • @Huneiyue Brilliant insight. :D

  • THIS VIDEO GAVE ME A HARD ASS BONER.

  • ............now im hungry, gee thanks andy :(

  • I call this a masterpiece of art !

  • it's so odd...

  • didn't even finish it... pass it here, andy

  • Why do people pretend this has any meaning? He obviously just did it because he knew people would give anything a meaning, even if there was no meaning to it.

  • @lolguy212 well technically, what you said, just gave it a meaning

  • @conscott22 No, I mean a really deep meaning. Such as American consumerism, or voyeurism or something.

  • @lolguy212 your trying to say its nothing and someone else is trying to say its something..each person is trying to interpret the way their own mind sees it. and i believe the people who claim its nothing shouldn't even try to convince someone else to see their way because you can't construe someone else's mind but your own

  • @lolguy212 And that's the meaning!

  • I love andy, he reflected his culture in a very unique way

  • Andy Warhol was hipster before it was cool.

  • Andy Warhol farts over a hamburguer.

  • Wow I actually just watched that

  • I can picture his friends saying that was amazing maestro, giving him cheers for every mundane thing he made. I admire this man for the fact he sold garbage to rich guys and make them believe it was art. He truly is the invisible golden dress maker.

  • @eelsevilla i have a phd in "art" and i can tell you THERE'S NO SUCH THING!

  • @betterinformed So you are saying watching a guy eat its art, and because it was never been made before i should pay millions , well maybe not millions but a lot of money to get this video? I can understand he was a visionary and first in new things, but there is no meaning in his works, he just leave what rich guys wants to see. I dont need a phd to know that i want an original matisse on my wall than s can of soup.

  • @eelsevilla

I will admit that a video of a dude eating a hamburger isn't exactly a masterpiece, but Andy Warhol's works were conceptual and they did have meaning. His mass produced silkscreen prints made all sorts of commentary on society. By all means, feel free to dislike Andy and his artworks but don't say his art meant nothing.

  • @eelsevilla Oh, I absolutely agree. He's like that guy who canned his own crap and sold it for it's weight in the price of gold for that day. Rich people lapped that up.

  • @eelsevilla He celebrated fascination in the ordinary. No deeper meaning than a man eating a hamburger. You may easily and uninformedly dismiss his art but, like it or not, his work changed the way people viewed the world around them. The ripple effects are still felt today in advertising, theatre, painting, film, music...

  • なんかアホなとっつぁん坊や見てるみたい・・・

    ってか残さず食えや、カマ野郎。

  • Andy Warhol crip walks like a thug

  • Jørgen Leth <3

  • im sorry, but this isn't art

Why the hell would this be classed as art,

i see people eating burgers everyday

nothing striking or mind blowing about it

And i bet he sold this video for thousands or millions for being a mental case

  • @JabelsJunior What you're not getting is that this is what he did, he forced people to look at everyday objects or actions and see them in a new way. His art was always filled with cultural reference (Burger King bag, and the Heinz ketchup bottle). Instead of simply painting a picture or taking a photograph of a ketchup bottle and fast food bag, he did this. I agree; nothing striking or mind blowing about it, but that wasn't the purpose. Just because you don't "get it" doesn't mean it isn't art

  • @kiloggolik i understand that this is a message of 'modern' culture ect. and it being an example of human form but i don't think that it deserves to be sold for the thousands it probably went for in an art museum.

It was probably the psychedelia of the 60s and i'm sure it's more the controversy of 'Is this art?' that made it some what famous.

To my point anyway, I don't think it adds or inspires ideas which someone could see from simply observing the world around you (which most dont ill agree

  • @JabelsJunior I think it added/inspired ideas about art itself, by stretching the boundries as to what was considered art at the time.

This video isn't 60s, it was actually made in '74.

  • @JabelsJunior

    pretty shallow comment.

  • 369 are vegetarian people.

  • Andy was a genius. I just had lunch with him. I had hot dogs,of course.

  • he wasted half a bun and the rest of his hamburger he didnt finsh. and he wasted a huge glow of ketchup.

  • Am I the only one who laughed my ass off when I saw this?

  • I love los, angeles. I love hollywood. they're beautiful. Everybody's plastic,

but i love plastic. i want to be plastic.

    - Andy warhol

  • i SEE HIM TAKING COMMUNION. DIPPING THE BREAD INTO THE WINE. His body is the bread and his blood is the wine. It is a commandment.

  • NO ANDY I'M NOT GUNNA FINISH YOUR BURGER FOR YOU! I'm looking at you straight into your eyes you pretentious dick. *Lights cigarette filter first and starves to death.*

  • fucker twitches a lot

  • Meanwhile.. Back in Africa...

  • It sounds like a basketball game is going on on the other room

  • Soft porn for fat people.

  • @FredrikLNielsen sir, i myself am fat and do not find this video erotic in any way shape or form.

  • @elmaschingon142006

    Hahaha !

  • @FredrikLNielsen I'm fat, and vegitarin so suck it<3

  • what a cunt

  • if he known how this is made...

  • if he known how this is made...

  • This Rox. #andywarholispopart

  • This Rox. #andywarholispopart

  • I would eat the fuck out of this burger.

  • this is like weird as fuck, but when your hungry, this is like porn.

  • perhaps he is acknowledging individualism - from how one eats to how one paints, differs from person to person. its uniqueness, that is what makes art special - not 'good or bad' or anything in between. open-mindedness is crucial when appreciateing art, I think. it goes far beyond 'technique', I mean, you're dealing with the human psyche. (this is redundant, isn't it?)

I just like the sound effects. strange, but it could put me to sleep.

  • @prettybones8 Is that you Myranda?

  • eating is an intimate thing -_-

  • maybe there is no meaning and he finds it comical how much meaning people find in anything. i'm not anti-intellectualism, but it bothers me how much people can read into something so simple. of course, it could also have some great meaning. who knows?

  • @damnedcarrot

    Wow your a dumbass

  • This is so great for its strangeness and I love Warhol, but honestly the Hasselhoff video where he is drunk eating a cheeseburger off the floor has this beat. That shit was real life and it was beautiful.

  • This was a little bit before "food science" went crazy, and I can't help but wonder if Andy'd eat fast food nowadays just because it was modern & mass-produced, or if he'd say, "Oh-whoah, these new Whoppers just don't taste like they used to."

Aside from that, he's got a really interesting technique, dropping the lower half of the bun halfway through & wrapping the top half around the remainder of the patty like some sort of Polish/Pittsburgh burrito.

  • hes so awkward

  • i love wat hes wearing...... man who thought its b so hard to squirt sauce out of a bottle. i also like how he leaves quater of his burger uneaten lol.

  • Fascinating!

  • Such bullshit.

  • @itsJLbday hahahahaha! Wow, Your stupidity is a piece of art, that's for sure.

  • Andy Warhol gave frivolity depth.

  • It's 11 PM as I watch this and now I am getting hungry.

  • pointless, like Warhol's career. He was no Duchamp :)

  • I want my four minutes back.

  • His black eyes scare the fuck out of me..

  • i believed the country of America's the burger and the American peoples the mouth whos eating the country up and the wrappings the soul of America and that just get thrown away into the recycling bin......

and once America gets eaten up buy American's for example take the oil and the natural resources they poop it out and move on to the next country..

the wrapping gets recycled and the soul get wrapped again in another burger and someone does it again to the country.

  • @jellyboy123

i also like to add the red sauce is the blood on American hands.

  • @jellyboy123 lol.

  • fucken advertisements!!!

  • Spoiler alert: He finishes it.

  • I wonder why he opened the burger only to put the ketchup next to it...

  • It was an artistic statement against the status quo.
