I think it's important to recognize that Soviet Union wasn't the best place in the world, but it had many good things about it. It's misguided to claim that one place/ideology is completely right and the other one is completely wrong and you're not doing anyone real favors by doing that.

@TheRevolutionarie That is not correct, the Americans offered billions of dollars to eastern europe in Marshall Aid in 1946 but the Soviet union declined this offer and made sure other countries in Eastern Europe did not receive this aid as well. Also the EU gave mountains of surplus food to Eastern europe in the 1970s and 80s otherwise they could have been a near famine condition in the eastern block Also there was no democracy in the USSR , the communist party was the only party allowed
@1middlesbrough The Marshall Plan gave then money, but it was a loan, not a gift, we only finished paying it back in 2005. It really wasn't as good as you think.

Britain received more Marshall Aid than anyone else, do you really think this country was close to communism after world war 2? That was not the reason for America giving us aid
@1middlesbrough Look at France and Greece, they are a good example, and the socialist and communist parties in Britain gained support throughout WW2, partly due to the fact they were opposed to Chamberlain's actions during appeasement. They didn't give us aid just to rebuild, why would the US do anything that it couldn't get something out of. Look at their aggressive tariff policy until the start of the war, Warren Harding said it was to help European industry get back on it's feet. It wasn't.

@MrGuruAll Neither is actually good. The most efficient system I've seen so far is the Chinese adaptation of a socialist government structure but allowing a "free-market" with the rest of the world. The communist style government helps keep in check many of the negative effects of democracy (I.E. every moron has the right to an opinion and sadly there are a lot of imbeciles to go around) while the free-market system ensures their economic supremacy in the east and soon over Europe.It'll be fun.

@BossHossGT500 Your believing what they told you in school. Without Stalin's ways, the Soviet Union would've fallen to the Fascist Reich. That would have been the end of "Democracy" and "Communism". The Reich would have enough resources to out last even America, and had a Stealth Bomber in proto-type stages, and within a year or two of developing the Nuclear Bomb. That would have meant the end of the English speaking, but the rise of German.
Communism will rise again. It's inevitable Lenin implemented it through revolution and if you look at most industrialized countries such as Canada most of Europe and their Capitalist systems. People will realize that capitalism is barbaric and horrible by naturally trying to fix it with "social programs" such as education, universal healthcare, welfare etc. In a few decades or in a century, what they'll get is communism which will eventually advance the human race enough to become anarchists.

If you mean WW2 - USSR was fighting nazis since 1936 Spain, 1938-1939 Mongolia (Japs) and in total we took 80% of Axis forces - best of them. Including 1200 000 men Japaneese Kwantung army in 1945 which was REAL reason why Japs surrendered

@MrGuruAll Neither is actually good. The most efficient system I've seen so far is the Chinese adaptation of a socialist government structure but allowing a "free-market" with the rest of the world. The communist style government helps keep in check many of the negative effects of democracy (I.E. every moron has the right to an opinion and sadly there are a lot of imbeciles to go around) while the free-market system ensures their economic supremacy in the east and soon over Europe.It'll be fun.

@BossHossGT500 Your believing what they told you in school. Without Stalin's ways, the Soviet Union would've fallen to the Fascist Reich. That would have been the end of "Democracy" and "Communism". The Reich would have enough resources to out last even America, and had a Stealth Bomber in proto-type stages, and within a year or two of developing the Nuclear Bomb. That would have meant the end of the English speaking, but the rise of German.

Communism will rise again. It's inevitable Lenin implemented it through revolution and if you look at most industrialized countries such as Canada most of Europe and their Capitalist systems. People will realize that capitalism is barbaric and horrible by naturally trying to fix it with "social programs" such as education, universal healthcare, welfare etc. In a few decades or in a century, what they'll get is communism which will eventually advance the human race enough to become anarchists.

The only country better under the USSR is Russia.

If you mean WW2 - USSR was fighting nazis since 1936 Spain, 1938-1939 Mongolia (Japs) and in total we took 80% of Axis forces - best of them. Including 1200 000 men Japaneese Kwantung army in 1945 which was REAL reason why Japs surrendered

@summer20105707 Russia has always had a strong tradition of choirs, mainly because the Russian Orthodox Church forbids the use of instruments in religious ceremonies. Therefore, they developed choirs which gradually spread into other aspects of life, such as the military (the Red Army Choir, for example) and politics.
