Lovely tribute to a lovely man, that was universally loved and respected everywhere he went. Never heard ANYONE say a bad word about him. Well, apart from the gutter scumbag press that we have in this country, that hounded him out of the England job. Oh and that dreadful man Shepherd at Newcastle. Still, it's best to concentrate on the man himself. He's one of the very very few sportsmen I consider a hero.

RIP Sir Bobby Robson! He was a very important manager for my team Sporting, having helped rise players like Figo, and managers like Mourinho to be one of the greatest. I still remember him at our stadium back in the early 90's when I was just a kid. ;(

I went to St James' Park the day after he died, I had a Sunderland shirt on, this big fella looked at me, saw my shirt, and I started to walk away with my head down, he come over to me and said something like 'Divvent be daft, your more than welcome today', I laid an England shirt for Sir Bob and me and my friend stood talking for a good half hour, talking about Sir Bobby, as I said my goodbyes he turned round and said to 'Divvent worry son, there's nee rivalries today' that was a class act

Sir Bobby Robson would have loved to see that. he did so much for Newcastle United, getting us into the Champions League and nearly winning the title in 2002 when we lead the table twice. Sacking him was our biggest mistake and I am ashamed of Shepherd that it happened.
