Took my father to see Al Hirt at the Stevens Center in Winston Salem NC when Al was 78 years old- and he still sounded that good. Pete Fountain backed him up on Clarinet. Truely one of the greatest entertainers I have ever seen. I am trying to convert all my dad's albumns to digital, as soon as the quality is good enough I may try to post some here. Thanks to the person who posted this one! Much thanks!

I was born in 56 & by the time I was in early grade school I could name every Al Hirt tune. Still listen to this day. Truly timeless.

So beautiful, I cry a little bit. I have rediscovered Al Hirt, and he sounds even better than I remember. Thanks for making the Sixties a great time. It was a time much better than sex,drugs and r&r rubbish. RIP.
