  • Can anyone who's not a tone deaf spaz like me figure out the chords for this? I'd love to be able to play this :)

  • @Climbingmagnus Intro D Verse D b G A G A (x2) Chorus G D A G A D Note: Uppercase means major chord lowercase means minor chord I hope you can play it now. The rhythm is quite easy to catch. cheers
  • I'm loving this.

  • Its just a parody, its a self-degrading piss-take of a sort of caricature of lifestylists. All anarchists are guilty of it to a greater or lesser extent. Stop fingerpointing and just enjoy the song.

  • this version he says rancid and the clash and the one with the music video he says anti flag and crass

  • the lyrics are not that cool or clever all of you think. i dare to say its stupid.

  • @XlebenverbotenX You are the kind of person that this song is about. Congratulations.

  • @RegieSatanas666 dont think so. hes a great musican, and hes right about those who throw bricks and beat up cops which are really stupid, i think. but i think hes wrong about those who travel with freight trains, eating rubbish or drop out of school. I'm not one of these persons but i admire them, cause they live the life they want to live without endamaging anyone. i dont care what you think about me at all, we'll never meet, i just wanted to explain my point. greetz

  • @XlebenverbotenX I apologize, i misunderstood you. No beef homie.

  • @XlebenverbotenX If people want to live of dumpsterdived food, and travel om bike and freight trains i dont mind that. I have done that a lot myself. But you wont change the system by doing it, and not by throwing bricks either. Thats why im into politics.

  • @faendettavarjobbigt i never said that it would change the system and i think its very important to be into politics, like you are. i just admire those people and that is why i dont like this song. greetz. p.s.: i think of you as a very cool person. really :)

  • @XlebenverbotenX Yeah but the point is, as great as all that stuff, that's wont change the system by itself!

  • My fiance sent me this just as I was finishing a dumpster bagel. I was delighted.

  • <3 Rovics. Great lyricist.

  • i hope this is a joke... otherwise it's hella gay

  • this is the no bitchin zone everyone quit yer bitchin

  • @youteacher78

    @toiletsrus

Fighting about what Anarchism means on the internet will never change the world. Agree to disagree, suck up your pride and pitch in on spreading around the idea. Anarchism is all about free thought and general and reasonable freedom guys.

  • @ChewyDaDon your bashing those who argue. then you argue. hahaha. irony.

  • Whats wrong with wearing black, riding trains, and a vegetarian diet?

  • @MikeSkiera

The part where people brag about it and pretend it makes them a better person than someone who exercises their freedom to not do those things.

  • Lifestylism is dumb but vegetarianism and riding a bike are good things.

  • anarchists need to get organised!

  • mike xvx has a great version of this song but redone as "im a better folk singer than you", in essence making fun of david for thinking his shit dont stink

  • anarchy is logic, nothing else

  • IDK but he has a ton(well roughly 200) songs on soundclick...

  • Anyone have the chords to this?

  • An anarchist with a sense of humour. We need more of these.

  • Tom Frampton.

    All I have to say.

  • Thats the awsome part about being centraliest, you can make fun of everyone, both Che- Shirt Teenagers and Corrupt Busness CEO's.

  • Yeah, mediocrity is safe & awesome!

  • this is a parody on post left anarchism that focuses on dropping out of school / quitting work and living free and spraying graffiti instead of creating a revolution.

  • Well, considering the media is funded by corporate interests, and we don't have money why is graffiti bad in a means of communicating with the public?

And despite all the straw-man arguments, there are DIFFERENT ways of combatting capitalism in ones life, some can quit work and do a lot more, some find it more difficult to quit work, all my friends who are in school don't have time for anything, must we all live that way?

  • @Rad1ka1 No, those people are called "lifestylists" within the movement. Don't confuse them for all anarchists. Anarchist theory has nothing to do with how you live your life, it is simply an idea of structuring society in a post-capitalist world.

  • @toiletsrus The claim that anarchism is not about daily life is just as braindead stupid like claiming that dinner is not about eating but about growing old. If you're not able to free your own life from convictions, behaviour and assumptions that have been cold forged in patriarchy how will you ever build an anarchist society? Thats like building a brick house out of sod.

  • @youteacher78 Have you ever even read any anarchist theory? Anarchism is an anti-capitalist ideology. It's about moving society beyond capitalism and capitalism's necessary hierarchies. Yes, patriarchy is included in these hierarchies but the only way to get rid of hierarchies from society is for the working class to take control of the means of production. This is the basis of anarchist theory. How you live your life in capitalist society is completely irrelevant to anarchist theory.

  • @toiletsrus You mean have you read any of YOUR blend of anarchist theory. Yes I have read a lot of John Zerzan, Bob Black, Wolfi Landstreicher, fifth estate, green anarchy to name a few and pre-anarchist thinkers like Stirner, Godwin, etc. And I have read about anarchist history for example that of the peat-bog workers in the Northern Netherlands and the Spanish civil war. But I refuse to read any of the tedious crap from Bakunin, Kropotkin and other elitist theorist that hijack anarchist praxis

  • @toiletsrus And to carry my rant - your claim to "true" anarchist theory as some sort of Marxist (haven't read him either - boring fuck) exercise is a slap in the face to all the people who change the world on a day to day basis by creating free-zones, helping homeless, refugees, building radical initiatives such as democratic schools, drop out of work, live happy free lives, encourage others to do the same, are kind to people and treat children as equals. Good luck with your gloomy syndicalism.

  • @youteacher78 It's not Marxist, idiot. If you knew anything about anarchism and it's history you would know Kropotkin and Marx had a huge feud. But yeah, just ignore all of history and all the anarchist theory that has been written and live your stupid meaningless lifestylist life. The rest of the working class will actually be fighting for change while you cowardly run away from the fight just to make yourself feel important. Not everyone has the ability to just run away, privileged fuck.

  • @toiletsrus Like you are a stuck in some factory in China with all of your anarchist theory, ROFLMAO! It's the identification with the suffering of others that brings meaning to your pitiful little intellectual life. I come from a working class background you see. I've worked in factories, warehouses and restaurants. I have done 16 hour shifts, night shifts and my share of dirty work. And I quit!

  • @toiletsrus part two: you think that only by knowing all of the "right" anarchist stuff (you ignore my perspective totally) you can be an anarchist just like the Christians say you can only be saved by service to Christ. You dare to call my life stupid and meaningless? I dare to say I work hard everyday to establish freedom for future generations since I founded a democratic school and did 5 years of direct action. You are the very essence of everything sad that is true about anarchism.

  • @toiletsrus Your narrow mindedness is beyond comprehension. And you started calling me names (I only called Marx a boring fuck mind you) which shows a lack of style typical to the frustrated person you appear to be. I don't deny any-body the right to his or her interpretation of anarchism. I only object to the sickening we are holier than thou stance that many people display in these comments. It isn't anarchist to tell people they suck because the don't know this or that book, it's sad!

  • @Rad1ka1 It has nothing to do with post-left anarchism because instead it mocks at the very essence of people that are owned by a ideology because they are so insecure about themselves. In one place they'll be syndicalists, in yet another they will be vegans or punks. Post - left -anarchism for once doesn't ask you to submit to some bullshit grand revolutionary plan, the white male middleclass drop-outs wet-dream. Hit the local A-bookshop for your copy of Anarchy in the Age of Dinosaurs!

  • This is so funny. This is awesome. I especially love the non-pacifist part. I'm with you buddy. I hate pacifism. It's as damaging as aggression. Balance, peeps, a dancing fluid balance.

  • I imagine he's an anarchist himself though.

  • its ironic, isnt it?

  • I think so, illustrating the contradiction of anarchists that think they are better than others.

  • I'm pretty sure Rovics identifies as an anarchist. But he's critiquing the self-righteous lifestyle anarchists that drop out of society and basically put their nose up at working-class people. I identify as an anarchist and think it's hilarious.

  • I`d agree with you in most of the aspects

  • Same with me. Anarchy is clearly the best idea, but I don't think we can just cut of the capitalist food supply to the system. That would require every citizen to participate, in which case the revolution is already here, so why bother? But on note of the video, it's hilarious and clearly a satire on self-contradicting anarchists who aren't idealist, just retarded.

  • duh

  • classic!

  • funny, but I'll still won't dumpster dive and I'll stay a breeder... If that means I'm a worst anarchist... fine by me

  • to quote a badass website ""insert the sites name here" does not endorse

eating out of dumpsters. if you want to reclaim

waste, thats one thing but eating garbage

food in our opinion is unhealthy and disgusting"

  • ha ha ha ha

    Is this a joke?

  • ha yeah

  • No. This is not a joke. I AM a better anarchist than you.

    ;)

  • @RedAbz18 : no, it's propaganda! ;)

  • I saw this guy playing at the DNC disruption.

    +5 Stars.
