  • Chico is a meerkat that has been alone for 1 year at the L.A. Zoo. They FINALLY got him a friend named Barky who is there now in quarantine. They should be together soon. See the petition on Care2 for Chico the Lone Meerkat. Also, the L.A. Zoo got 3 more which will be in another meerkat exhibit soon. Pressure on the zoo really did work and thank you L.A. Zoo for getting Chico a friend. No one should live alone.

  • I am sad to say that Chico is still alone.

    The L.A. Zoo's yearly budget is over $170 million and they haven't resolved this yet.

  • Does anyone know if Chico got a roommate yet? I signed a petition a while ago to get the LA Zoo cracking on getting this very lonely meercat a companion. Oct. 24, 2008
