i cant thank marty enough i love how this guy takes the time to show u things step by step to explain it it rlly helps iv learned so many songs from his vids
Very cool, but realize that if you want to follow Marty, you have to tune down 1/2 step. E to E flat. Then you can jam with Marty. Not sure why he didn't tell us that. Marty?
The first time I watched a Marty Schwartz lesson was ages ago. And, yeah he has helped me. But to be honest, every time I watch a new lesson I keep thinking "I suck" I just think I cant be able to play guitar like a pro by just watching lessons...
Just watching this video has made me a better player. Thank you! Every other video I looked at was either way too basic or advanced. This was perfect!
If you're contemplating buying ANYTHING from Marty, my suggestion is that you DO IT immediately. I bought the "Solo/Lead Techniques" DVD and learned more in a few months than I did from any teacher EVER. I've been wanting to jam solos since I was 14 years old, and now I finally can thanks to Marty.
this is awesome. Great way to get out of the pentatonic rut. I've looked at dozens of videos to find a way out and none were as easy to follow as Marty's. i can now connect the boxes and move up and down the neck (at least on e and B strings for now). i just need to sit down and figure out how to do it on the other strings. Thanks Marty. keep them coming.
im pretty intermediate, and maybe I'm just out of it this morning, but this was fast and not as informative as others. :( i just had to look at the video over and over and over to get the notes. Yeah i could of look up all positions of minor pent. but. I'm just sayin y'all
I have to say this....Marty: you are AWESOME. This is an absolutely fanstastic lesson. There's many great players out there but very few are at the same time good teachers. You definitely are great at both. Thank you VERY MUCH.
@RandyPeter216 yes they will fit, but you may need to get different screws to mount them in the pickup rings. the spring that you have will probably work, but keep that in mind as well. most guitar shops have pickup mounting hardware available as well.
the advice of usen 1 or 2 strings at a time REALLY helps u breakdown leads more simply. then once u get those 2 strings memorized, u can move ur way up to the 3rd string. so on and so forth... VERY GOOD ADVICE... i dig it bro
that looping pedal thing seems awesome! how much does one of those run? i would love to be able to layer stuff and create songs like that so spontaneously and jam out
I have that problem too, my improvising sucks and I don't know how to go about fixing it. Does anyone know if Marty has a DVD lesson on it, cause I will be it in a secons
Hey Marty, I really want to start playing these solos and my fingers are fast enough but I can't get my picking hand to go fast or accurate enough to play the solos. Can you please do just one long video on how to speed up your picking for solos.
@aerosmith1501 Play everyday! I also suggest coming up with a pattern or finding one on the internet and trying to gradually gain speed as you become more comfortable with it. Don't play sloppy though!!! You will develop bad habits! Be honest with yourself as to whether or not what you are playing sounds ok or REALLY GOOD! The "1234" exercise helps develop speed as well, but is mindless and musical. It helped me develop my alternate picking when I was first starting. Play music though!!!!
hey marty whats wrong with me....i cant play lead for shit....i can play scales all day long and i know a few licks....but i cant make anything up ....drives me nuts
YES. Thanks for the tips Mart, like all the other people on here (who are cool as hell for learning from you) you show us so much in your videos, more than any other "teachers" on youtube. Keep it up and I look forward to maybe another Blues Domination "2" DVD set, haha. Unless there is one already and I failed to realize it? Anyway, rock on my blues brotha!
Youre great Marty, definitively good enough to become a professional. And your ability to teach is incredible, you are one of the most patient teachers Ive seen. Thank you for everything, and just like @VicRoseMusic said, if I make it big, you will get a check in the mail.
hey marty, ive followed your lessons since you first appeared with david talb on the rockongoodpeople channel, and its safe to say you have far outdone him. youve even got a handful of apps on the app store! marty's taking over the world.
