First let me send my condolences to you and your family for your loss. I am a bowhunter but am first a dog lover and lost my dog to a pitbull attack. I am lactose intolerant so I don't drink milk and as for cwd it is rare and no cases have been found in this area and when a deer has cwd it is very obvious that they are sick so I wouldn't consume that deer. Where I live there is a "no hunting' sign posted yet there are tree stand with baits and lure. One stand very close to the road and we know hunters love to kill early morn (dawn) when still slightly dark or dusk (almost darkness) kids out from school, or maybe dog got loose that belonged to a family gets into the forest which is private but ANYONE can easily get in. I am a hunter and outdoorsman. I am a conservationist! We are the original conservationists. I do not in any way condone what that person did to a family pet! I hunt what is legal game. I have shot stray rabit cats when they pose threat to my family. I'd do the same to a dog if he was a danger to my family. What the "hunter" did is unacceptable. He should be punished. He was hunting in an area where he wasn't allowed! But, you take it out on all hunters. I hope they catch that man! Unacceptable!

Hunters do more good for the environment than any animal rights organization has ever done. We put money into saving the wild for future generations. Animal rights organizations use their money for advertisements and to get actors to speak for them and they in turn get media attention. Hunters were for, and helped raise money for the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone. The only opposers were local farmers! Do some research. We conserve our national forests so others can enjoy.

Aw God there goes that "hunters do more good" crap again. Did you know that the size of many hunted animal have gotten smaller because hunter wants the big animals to compensate for the little men (and women) that they are. Elk, deer and certain species of bear are smaller today expect maybe the rack of the deer that hunter spend so much time and money growing so when they kill the animal they can wrap their grubby finger around the thick boned antler.

How many wolves are killed because they don't want the wolves taken their Elks. How many other predatory species have you killed so you can have the "game" animal all to yourself? HOw about CWD supposedly its the hunting industry that help spread the diseases and seems its spreading to many hunted states. Supplement feeding, baiting, elk and deer farming for large antler to kill all cause of CWD spread.

Thank you attilia. DEC (Dept of Environmental Cruelty) could give a damn about anyones life but their own killing kind. why should *WE* have to worry about scums killing wildlife? Sport hunting should be banned for good and those caught should be in prison for life or sent to an Island surrounded by man eating shark and let them kill each other. We are talking not only about the pain and suffering caused to innocent sentient lives but to human lives and their pets.
