  • I like it...

  • It appears you are creating distrust with this horse. Why is the the camera not showing your body language which as you might know, plays a huge part in training?

  • @hotlicks73 If I was "creating distrust" the mare wouldn't have let me come in and give her a rub on three different occasions following some serious reprimands. The control of space is an alpha leadership behavior she instinctively understands. Human body language is not as important a training tool during behavior modification lessons. The KEY training tool is to apply mental/physical pressure until you get the desired response and then IMMEDIATELY release the pressure. That's how horses learn

  • Stay out of kicking range and forcefully drive the horse off again. The kicking is dangerous disrespect and resistance to your position of authority. Always answer such challenges with solid eye contact and "loud" body language. Keep at it until the horse gives up its space very readily and lowers its head in submission.

If you're too intimidated by the horse's aggressive behavior, enlist the help of someone who is not and can safely emulate this lesson.

  • @ufoworks ok thanks i'll try that

  • what do you do if the horse will just kick you if you do this?

  • @horseracergirl The reply from UFOWORKS is my reply. Just signed in under a different screen name.
