This /is/ the theme of FF8. And I have to say, this is a really good song choice. Liberi Fatali ("Fated Children" in Latin) suits Mai-Hime a lot because the HiMEs are fated children, though not all teenagers. The choir-esque chanting is also reminiscent of the original OST of the Mai-series, or Mai-Otome, at least. (Kajiura Yuki is known for using choral pieces in her OSTs).
So in all, two thumbs up! Can't wait to see the finished product. =))
