  • You're fucking kidding me... ALSIP? I could have bumped into this chick a long time ago.

  • it's harmless to tell you the truth fursuit helped me to open up i was shy timid and hated being near people now with rave im happy and more open

  • she's not weird at all and FYI for all the haters out there.... MOST FURRIES DONT ENGAGE IN SEXUAL ACTIVITY IN SUITS... IF THEY DID THEY WOULD WEAR THE SUIT IN PUBLIC >:T

  • There's nothing wrong with being a furry, going to Anthrocon in a fursuit, or even wearing it once in a while around your house, but I could see where people would get concerned if you liked to wear it everyday. Although I'm not surprised, as I'm a furry (I'm not obsessed with it like her, however), I give props to her for not being ashamed to go out in public like that. Remember, furries are like everyone else. They are normal human beings with feelings, and not some lower form of human life.

  • Umm this is a mental issue, she IS doing something bad to herself. She needs help

  • lol....she is loonie!

  • how is this an addiction, its a fandom, nobody said that sci fi conventions were bad, thats a fandom...wtf they do a lot of good to communities and they are charitable. christ want to talk bad addiction look up that one girl who bleaches herself to get clean..

  • @MrDikfitzwell69 An addiction is an addiction no matter what. If it is impeding her from making a living period, it is an addiction. Fandoms can be taken to an extreme much like this case. Besides, to have a persona to make up for self esteem issues is a huge problem.

  • @bigbird028 i respect your words and i understand what you are saying, perhaps i didn't word my comment correctly, i was implying that being a furry is not a bad thing, i agree that if taken to an extreme then it can be an "addiction" of some sort, but the show seemed to come off to me as extremely bias, it did give her a say and all but it was implying that she was weird for being herself, and being ourselves is something people have trouble with, and that is why i commented angrily

  • :why:

  • It's kind of strange actually how her mother is bothered by it to be honest...I mean even if she did get into the fetish side of it, what's so wrong with that? Doing it with other humans dressed as furries is not wrong. Sure it's different but I don't see how that is harming anyone or anything. She has a boyfriend, he's a human, if they ever had sex in their furry costumes how is that much different than people do other forms roleplay sex? Who cares? It's not my thing but who cares?

  • Well it's true that wearing an outfit where no one can see your face does allow you to do a lot of stuff you wouldn't normally do because people can't see who you are so you can't really embarrass yourself as easily.

I sometimes go to conventions where I dress up(not as a furry though but as an anime character and the character looks pretty human and people can still see my face - I dress as Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist usually). I don't have a problem with furries though.

  • Oh my god being a furry is not bad it's awesome

  • It's a common stereotype of furrys that they are doing this for a sexual reason when the truth is that it's actually for fun

  • At least she's doing what she loves, we live once and must do what we want, not others.

She can make a career out of this.

  • Of course...because wearing a fursuit is 'Dangerous and risky in nature'

    *shakes head* =3= Some people...

  • At least shes not doing anything bad to herself!

  • @abercrombiemel

This. Shouldn't people be happy about this? At least it's better than the person being a gangbanger and such.

  • The reason why she is having self-esteem issues is because she's not being accepted by anyone in her family. It is an odd thing to do, but it makes her happy and they should acknowledge that. I hope she keeps on doing what she loves to do.

  • I don't see what's dangerous or risky about her hobby, What I do see are family members who are uncomfortable being around her with her hobby; and that's their problem.

She isn't engrossed in it, lost to the fantasy, or anything of the like. She's 19, a college student, and has found something that makes her happy after a soul crushing event in her life. Nothing wrong with that.

  • You can bet a lot of money that she has a deviantart account.

  • It is something so odd.

  • Wait.. she's talented enough to make that suit for herself and one for her boyfriend and doesn't have a job? She should get a job making and selling fur suits.. duh!

  • @FeralMonkeyShines lol she does!

  • she makes them? That's incredible!

I wouldn't condone her hiding behind her suits or wearing them every day, but imagine she got to do that for a living!

  • Lauren should get into costuming and stage make up.

  • All you gotta do is put on a lion mask to tap that.

  • This isn't really an addiction so what if she likes to waer the suit it's her choice just my opinion :)

  • honestly, i do think its weird, but if this was the worst my daughter would do i would be more than okay with everything!

  • What I see in this video is a girl who does have some genuine issues she needs to resolve, but the people in her life are focusing more on the one trait of hers that embarasses *them*. They keep talking about 'You're in public!' and such. I'll bet people who've been through gender confusion have heard that a lot when trying to wear what feels right, regardless of what society says is acceptable.

Also, that therapist totally looks like the singer from Pomplamoose!

  • Furries rule and hater are gonna hate, so let them be assholes and don't let them bring you don't to their level.

    ~Icer

  • Lol risky behavior

  • If there was a furry holocaust of these kinds of people, i would be fine with it

  • My strange addiction, drugs

  • Why the hell is the furry fandom on this show? It's not an addiction, it's a lifestyle! :3

  • I'm just like her :3 my name is Lauren too I'm Also shy and creative. I'm proud to be a furry bad thing is I don't have a fursuit for my fursona...I really want one my mom would never let me go around as a furry :(

  • The furry shit is ruining people, Come on guys :/ No you're not a fuckin wolf/fox w.e you're just embarrassing yourself.

  • @ColdHardPlasticFlesh Most furries don't think that they are the animals they portray- they just love portraying their characters that happen to be in-human :3 Just like any fandom you get very odd people. It's no different than wishing you were your favorite character in other fandoms like anime. Most furries live a very normal life-style in fact.

  • What I want to know is, what happens when a furry has a kid? Do you dress your kid up or let em choose if they want to be a furry?

  • Fake!

  • fury nine tailed fox would be awesome!!!

  • Awesome! Great suit, very creative.

People get bent out of shape over the dumbest crap. Usually people with the biggest issues like to point fingers.

  • I love the suit.... wonder if she made it...

  • @TheYoSup123 did you even watch this?

  • @Jasonbjamin Yeah why? :(

  • @TheYoSup123 it says in there she made it

  • lol furries=actingyourinmiddleschool

  • The ONE rule of any alternative lifestyle. DON'T SCARE THE NATIVES. If you DO scare the natives, you're on your own and deserve any ridicule you get. You're an adult, act like one and don't push your fetish or lifestyle on anyone who has not given previous consent. Dont do that in a public venue. Sure Fur/Anime Cons are totally different, have fun with it. But a bowling alley with your family? Shame on you.

  • first of all: fursuiting is only fun with friends, and super unsafe by yourself. Second of all: a majority of fursuiters/ furries aren't this obsessed and they don't have mental issues. Thanks again supposedly educated media for finding the craziest of our harmless fandom and using them to define all of us

  • i love fursuits (furries!) and make myslef one ^^ my fursona is a fox and wolf and also a coyote<333

  • The furry was cute! :D

  • I would like to start ;P being a (wolf) myself... Furies seen fun ;D

  • I like her furrie suit

  • I have no problem with furries but you have to admit that furries are only something that can be here in this modern age, they're relatively new. What would she have done if she was living in the 60's or 70's before there were such a thing, as opposed to living now? It probably would've never even crossed her mind.

  • @ShortFingeredShreder

Depends on how you look at it. 60's and 70's cartoons really spawned the furry movement early on, but it could be argued that shamanistic traditions and many nature based religions have always had an animal/human tie.

  • the girl is just out their shes ok

  • don't let society run/ruin your life. believe in yourself and do what makes you happy. the people that think it's "weird" or "fucking crazy" have basically closed their minds in a shell of selfishness self-righteousness. be who you are, fuck what the people world want you to be.

i mean where is the love people?

  • I don't see what's so bad about being a furry. I'm not a furry, nor do I have anything against those who are furries. Sure, it's strange in the eyes of people that DON'T do it, but I don't exactly think it's wrong

  • Ok, I'll admit it! Being awesome is addictive, not for everyone can handle it.

  • Im suprised she has a boyfriend, women wouldnt be so forgiving if a dude was into this

  • @zartanhatesyou That's because all women are stupid and mean, including the ones in the fandom, aswell as my mother!

And OBVIOUSLY the sexist part of that isn't serious AT ALL, but anyone who judges someone baddly because they're part of a community who is supporting, friendly, fun-loving, artistic, and accepting, IS stupid and mean.

  • Btw girl you're not weird. Haters are gonna hate, and your suit is awesome!

  • @g2fingers I agree :)

  • @g2fingers amen

  • @dreamspire91 i completely agree, although i have my own fursuit that i made, and me and some friends sometimes just make a game out of it to walk around Wal-Mart or go golfing in our suits lol

  • well maybe too much saints row:) now if she would smack ppl with a 4ft dildo then it would be just fun and not a problem ;)

  • It's fun to dress up and be something you're not, but I can't do the furry thing (outside of halloween, which I only did one year) ever since I started seeing it from an outside perspective. It's fun to do, but embarrassing when you realize how many people think you're a freak. I have never labeled myself as a furry, although it was a fun little phase I went through. And yes, there are ALOT of furry freaks. There are normal people who do it too, but LOTS of freaks.

  • Is aku witch means evil, I mean she can be evil but most the time she is loving and caring

  • Girl don't stop your dreams, fursuiting can be a business and van make you go far in life! It's a great way to exspress yourself without a doubt! I love it my fursona

  • I am a furry, lol I don`t understand why people think she is weird,...

  • @EBBLstudios

It's called Abnormal Psychology. If behavior discourages beneficial interaction with a large part of society, then its considered abnormal. It is an obsession that prevents her from functioning (having a job, etc.).

I can anticipate your reaction now; having idiosyncrasies or diversity in behavior isn't wrong. It's unhealthy when it hinders normal functioning.

  • fursuiters arnt bad or weird there just like you and me there just like the people that were the morph suits just more detailed.and just think of it this way instead of dressing up as your favorite person on Halloween you dress up as them any day of the year. and like what she said costumes do give you a boost of personality to act more like that character because people cant recognize you so it gives you the extra nudge to do what your thinking in your head.

  • @masterchief3100

Having a hobby isn't wrong or bad. Having an obsession that prevents functioning in society is. Case in point: She doesn't have a job, or direction in life beyond this furry obsession. Who supports her? There are extremely important practicalities that she doesn't account for in favor of her obsession.

Are all like that? Sweeping generalizations about groups are often wrong.

  • Y'know, I always thought the furry fandom was strange, and I had some misconceptions about it, like how everyone in it thinks about animals sexually. Watching this video gave me a new perspective on the fandom, and though I'm sure a lot of furries don't have the self-esteem issues Lauren has, this episode showed the misunderstood side of the issue.

  • nobody said anything when snookie became a furry

  • what is wrong with her mother? for f sake , my mum doesnt care I'm a furry she thinks it's funny as fuck when I put on a furhead , mostly because I scare the shit out of my brother

  • I just love her fursona its so gorgeous! Ive never really had a chance to get into the furry fandom but ive always loved the costumes ^_^

  • Guess they would all rather have their kid get into therapy, drugs and alcohol like most sad people huh? Cause society says that is the normal way to deal with problems. See the doc, pop another pill and a swig of Jack, better than wearing a suit that gets you into a social fandom, a way to make money with her talent, and a boyfriend.

  • Although I am not a furry, I understand why dressing up this way would be appealing. Sometimes the world is so mundane and boring, you feel that you should act or dress differently and wildly to keep life interesting. At least, that is how I feel when I wear lolita clothes, another misunderstood and "unusual" fashion/subculture. I hope she continues wearing her fur suit if it makes her happy. However, I hope she doesn't wear that to a date or job interview. Just saying.

  • You go girl!

  • While yes, I do think it is a problem how deep things can go into this idea of furries, but this is kind of a coping method for her. It is an escape from the troubles of her life.

  • The problem isn't that she's a furry, the problem is that she has crippling ow self esteem and wears a mascot suit everyday. A mascot suit. Everyday.

  • I had been in the fandom for years then left the fandom because of the extremes. Never got into the fursuits. So I wish that they would atleast get this right...Not all furries dress like this, or act like this. Some just enjoyed drawing, or writing. As for her case, she is the extreme without the sexual side. There are events for it, but not every day.

  • I think it's weird also but the loss of a parent at a young age is devastating. It affects your entire life. my mother passed away 61 years ago and I still wonder what growing up with her would have been like. She's still a young woman please show show compassion.

  • She should own her fursona! I stay up till all hours of the night fursuiting and I have a job and go to college with strait As, yet I go out in my suit? There is an amazing comfort in the suit that some people can not understand, Its just fun! You bring smiles to alot of faces! But of course this show only features negative reactions, not the smiles of the children that are simply amazed that they could meet somone like this.

  • Wow...her Mom...I just...no. I dont understand. The girl just wants to have fun, be weird and make people smile by seeing something different. And yet the mom is 'terrified' her girl wants to be different? I dont get it. -n- Sure she needs to find a job, but there is no mental issues here.

  • I kinda know how she feels. I'm normally really shy in public. But if I have a hoodie on, even when it's hot, I'm playful and happy. I have a big FLUFFY one, two thin ones, and the one I have on now, a black one with two shiny strips on the arms. It's not that big of a deal. >_>'

  • This is kind of degrading to furries. Most of us AREN'T crazy obsessed weirdos that wear our fursuits out, but we make them for a convention. This kind of bothers me, that media depicts furries as something so odd.

  • el oh el

  • Can't someone just enjoy acting in a costume? I'm sorry but there is a line between owning a suit and just going to cons and living life normally, and then the people who believe they are an animal and go everywhere in their suit. In all my years, I have never seen a furry walking around my city. It's uncommon to see people just go about in a suit like it's normal. Some people enjoy acting and costuming, and a suit is a way to go about it. Doesn't make them gross or have social issues.

  • @xGoinDownToSouthPark Fucking weird is OK, crazy is what you're not supposed to stick your dick into

  • @CloudchaserShaconag

Or let crazy stick it's dick into you

  • @CloudchaserShaconag No, this furry shit in general is weird.. dressing up as animals is fucking bizarre in general unless your joking or its halloween. I dont care if I get alot of hate for this, i'm just speaking for the majority of people who arent furries.

  • @xGoinDownToSouthPark

    depends :)

the media makes the furry fandom way difrent then its realy is.

ofcourse you have some wierd cases like indeed the sexual side.

but most of them are just people who use their creativity to build those suits en draw and only wear them only at meetings a few times a year.

because those suits are around the 1000 dollars each.

but like i said you indeed got some wierd cases in it :P

i am a furry myself an i have nothing sexual with it nor suit

  • Wow, fuck that Psychiatrist douche, people don't wear fursuit's to hide away from they're problems. Dumbass.

  • That chick ain't right... nooope.

  • you know....i think that would be fun as hell! and normal haha, i mean, i go out in cosplays all the time, pretending im the people i dress as and stuff, i see nothing wrong with people having fun like that. i would love it! id feel comfortable. and i mean, go to school in cosplays and etc, and its a blast! so i see no point into criticizing here

  • IT'S JUST A FUCKING COSTUME.

  • Yiff in hell

  • fuck you mother of lauren i'm a furry and i don't see a problem with it so all yu furriy haters guess what, GTFH

  • itrs a cry for help thats what the mom sees

  • :yaoming:

  • die furries die

  • @ShaktipatSeer2 die fuck face die

  • @DjTHUMPER620 seriously it's a sad excuse for a personality.. it's trying to escape from something (furries socio-emotional fears) by running backwards (LITERALLY into a 'shell').. I really don't hate furries.. I have 2 good friends who are 'furries'.. a little bit of pretend is okay.. but you don't realize how powerful your mind is and when you hold onto this roleplaying split personality thing for a long time.. it's just not psychologically healthy..

  • I am friendly with furries.. generally you guys are all asperger's syndromed kids and I get along with you types.. but you have to know that people don't respect you or take you seriously, especially if your a "man".. no man who is a man would wear these things.. gimme a break.. and I consider people who need to use this as a mask for their fears and anxieties to be utterly pathetic. :meh: screw you idiots anyway

  • When I told my mom I wanted a fursuit she thought I was joking. It took a while for her to get what a furry is but my mom's fine with me being a furry. Why can't Lauren's mother see that she is no diffrent then the way she was before she got a fursuit? She's the same person she just expresses herself diffrently then most people do. Doesn't she know her own daughter enough, if she did then she wouldn't have any reason to be afraid of... whatever she's afraid of.

  • I can't stand them having an issue with furries. You don't give those obnoxious people who paint their favorite sports team colors on their half-dressed bodies, the stars of such shows as Toddlers and Tiaras, or any other kind of idiotic dress style shit, yet they give furries shit? Ha. Ha. Ha. I agree with crysisdragon, the focus seems to be shifted in the wrong direction. Why don't these people bitch about toddlers and tiaras, where these moms just fuck with their kids?

  • Wait KIRA? (Fail Death Note reference) Did I mishear that?

  • I love you.

  • I'd like to reinforce the fact that not all furries dress up in fursuits. Only about 1/3 of the fandom actually own them, and about 1/2 don't want them. Those that don't want them like to draw, sculpt, or just look at furry artwork.

  • All these people are uptight. The reason a kid likes a furry is because kids know how to have fun, they dont worry about people judging them. Adults need to grow the fuck up and lighten up, enjoy life. People are assholes.

  • People have put too much negative stimga on the fandom as this socially outcast group.

I've met a lot of great friends thanks to this fandom, both online and in person.

So it may seem a little weird, but we're all weird in some sort of sense.

  • "But I don't wanna be a furry..."

  • TLC, stop making normal people seem so bizarre just to feed your own greed. I know this girl on Fur Affinity. The death of her dad has nothing to do with it, she will NEVER get into the sexual side of it, and Lauren is a completely normal person. I don't believe she is hiding herself, but showing off something else instead. To anyone else with a "strange" fandom, do not try to use big media to defend it. They will fuck you up, no matter how normal you are.

  • This program contains behaviors that are fun and harmless in nature. Viewers should attempt.

  • people should get better imaginations

  • I'm concerned about the exercise in fur suits...

    dehydration yooo, overheating!

  • @benoisc I've thought that would be a concern if furries were real as well. There'd probably have to be separate exercise rooms for humans and species of furries that don't sweat and have thick fur coats

  • I hope my parents gon't get all up in arms when I reveal my fursona to them.

  • 2:39 .......... *currently*

anyways... me and like 3 of my friends were walking around and i saw like 3 of these on the sidewalk... people look at you funny if you and all of your friend leap over the nearest fence like a bunch of stereotypical mexicans...

  • Sh should just a costume designer. I mean she has visions, is good at sewing and what she's doing now is a joke!

  • This is fucking creepy.

  • Oh, c'mon this isn't even a HUGE problem. Man, people are judgemental. This isn't about what society thinks is right and morally accepted. It's about expression an individual's freedom and want. If this girl feels comfortable in the costume why stop her? She's not killing people.

  • tbh furries aren't a big deal, but there's a line, like I think fursuits should be for like events, special occasions, get-togethers, etc.. I don't think it's healthy to wear the fursuit by yourself on like a daily basis, for no specific reason though..

  • she must be a fan of saints row the third

  • I'm not a furry but I do support them. Thats their "thing" and I'm proud of them for having something unique unlike most other people in the "normal" society.

  • And I'd rather have an interesting lifestyle than be a part of the "Standardized" normal life the masses think is acceptable. I don't want to be a part of the copy and paste "American Dream" of "Go to school, go to work, marry and have 2.5 kids, work some shitty job the rest of your life and stay in line with society." That's boring shit, everyone's done that already.

  • @crysisdragon How the hell do you have 2.5 kids?

  • @Cheeze939 Its a statistic of the average american family I found awhile back. Average families had "2.5" kids.

  • @crysisdragon Oh, lol. Remind me of a time on BBC's Top Gear when Jeremy Clarkson was reading (in a German accent) a letter that said "...this man has 2.5 children living in his basement..." (I thumbed up your comment :D)

  • There are some people who do get pretty deep into being a furry, but so what? There's weirder groups out there. One example of something much worse, and you can see it in the corner of the video, is "Toddlers and Tiaras" which is a fucked up show about parents dressing up their infants practically like porn stars, and the general masses aren't in an (huge) uproar about it.

  • @crysisdragon Agreed. Toddlers and Tiaras is a disgusting fucking show. I can't believe how popular it is. It's basically a show about accepted child abuse.

  • @crysisdragon THANK YOU! Well said! 8D Why does "Toddlers and Tiaras" even exist, it's such an awful show. I lost my faith in humanity. ¬_¬

  • @crysisdragon

That show is incredibly sick. I wish there was more of a negative reception. It's terrifying.

  • furries are so fucking weird

  • I WOULD FUCKEN HIGH FIVE HER!!!

I WOULD BE LIKE HELL YEAH GIRL!!!!

  • "She became introverted."

    wat

  • @Okshutit introverted is basically the opposite of social

  • lol there is a guy who is for sure a furry in his off time at my work, he is constantly doing animal doodles and talking about furries... or changing his desktop background to cartoon sexualized furry pics

  • being a furry really isnt an addiction its more like an hobby or an interest now over eating is an addiction frugs are an addiction theres more i cant think of it but i as well am a furry :3 and it is very fun trolling about stuff is the only thing i hate people always getting a bad example of us because of the fetish but thats only part of the furry comunity the rest is just all about haveing fun

  • the Psychiatrist said it right- there's definiely some kind of major issue avoidance goin on with the more extreme 'furries'. How odd. One of these days im gonna turn on the news to see that a group of people have attacked one of these weird people and put him/her into the hospital

  • me is a furry too :}

  • I'm a furry just look at my channel xDDDD

  • TIC ,claiming this is bad when they have Toddlers in Tiarars.

  • its okay to be a furry i am one ^.^

  • I wish she'd put some eyes on it. xD Looks weird seeing her eyes. IDK why people (some not all) think fursuiting is bad/weird. My parents are okay with it. They liked the head I made. -3-

  • @MissZebraWolf I think she does have eyes for it.

  • This seems like a misrepresentation of the furry community. I'm not a furry. In her case, it does seem like an addiction since it is interfering with her life. She does need to get a fucking job and move!

  • Bitch needs to get a job and move out.

  • People being a furry is fine. If you're obsessing over it, that's bad, but no more or less bad than obsessing over anything else like video games or having pets.

It's like if I got addicted to video games, does that mean that people who play VG are in bad mental health? I mean I'm not sure if that's supposed to be the message here, but y'know, just trying to clear that up.

    Furry =/= Obsession.

  • that tail rocks!

  • lol I'm not into the whole fursuit thing, I guess it's like cosplay, but to each to their own :D

  • WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Cute tail! X3

  • Speaking as someone who isn't a furry, the only thing that concerns me about this is that it's keeping her from other parts of a normal life, i.e. finding a job, or being able to go places without the suit, things I'm sure other furries have no issue with. That's the only thing that bothers me, the suits don't even seem weird.

  • @KwartzKitten I agree with you. I myself am a furry, but I look at this as ok lets take away the fact that shes a fur. She's addicted to "working" on them through all hours of the night and we all can agree that it is easy to have an addiction that keeps us up. Thats my main concern is that sewing is taking over her time to study, job hunt, and sleep.

  • @KwartzKitten I just say she has to pace herself. I think her love of a hobby is awesome and the fact that even without the mask she openly sais how she feels about it. So in general shes healthy up to the point where she just pushes life aside to obsess over her work.

  • @Darlemonte Exactly! That's exactly what I was trying to say.

  • I just find it hilarious that the "normal people" try to link it to something negative instead of looking at the community behind furries. We are an amazing fandom that actually goes out and makes ourselves known to the rest of the world. We WON'T hide and we WON'T back down just because you think we're messed up.

  • I am a furry and proud of it!!!

  • no offence im a fur i make fursuits for my friends and myself i go out but i dont wear it every single day

  • I wish someone would throw a lit molotov cocktail at those furries.

  • Being a furry is fun! What are you all talking about? XD It's not weird!

  • FURRIES RULE :D IT ISNT A MENTAL PROBLEM ITS NOT A WAY TO HIDE ITS A WAY TO HAVE FUN!!!! IF YOU CANT HANDLE THE FURRIES DONT PAY ATTENTION TO EM

  • Holy shit
