The record industry was pretty much on its arse in Holland during this time, but that didn't affect Mai Tai's success. Unfortunately it did affect many other brilliant Dutch dance acts.
Does anybody has the long version of "The rules of love" (remixed by Ben Liebrand). I have the 7 inch version on cd. The 12 inch version broke when i was a dj in those days. I never could get it ever after.
my dad had an old vhs video featuring this very same performance, wondering if it was uploaded or taken from there. certainly brings back memories. video recorders arn't even being made nowadays for home use, certainly not here in the united kingdom anyway

I'm a child of the 80s and this is so souless, and overly Pop. The dance steps are not good. There stiff as performers. Common!!! This is actually an example of when people where saying that 80's music was bad. just because you grew up in this era doesn't make all the music of that era great. This diffinatly isn't.
Awesome song - memories of the Beacon Royal, the Pink Coconut and the Top Rank Suite in Brighton, Studio and Palm Beach in Streatham, and Bolts at the Boscombe Academy!!

Why do poofters love EVERYTHING that is cheesy? Sure there is lots of "cheesy pop" I love but I be selective. Even the most obscurely forgotten pop such as Hearsay or Fast Food Rockers is worshipped in gay bars.
u have to experience the 80s,jmr...yes the music is cheesy but its part of our childhood, kids dont judge music, just sing along and is part of memories thats why we love the old songs, hope u understand this
Onde andará as meninas d Mai tai? Grupo que com certeza quem vivênciou a cena musical dos anos 80 sabe como esse grupo nos traz boas lembranças de uma época muito boa.

This is the most spasticated and retarded song, and with the most spasticated beat and bassline.
Hey, I am an absolute sucker for 80s nostalgia and love loads of stuff from then but this track is an insult.
