@MATRIXandINCEPTION i am an atheist personally, but i believe spirituality is explained through our emotions. and like all emotions, are influenced through external phenomenon. from what i have learned of hindu ideology is that everything worshipped and prayed to is just a symbol or idea. an example of what i mean would be to ask yourself how would you draw an omnipresent god? it's not possible without drawing everything. so the use of a symbol to convey that idea is needed. hope that helps.

if only t hey taught Christians yoga, a hindu isn't a hindu if he doesn't do some mantra or etc to his favorite form of God, so why do Christians get taught all you have to do is what you are commanded to, without questioning, don't bother trying to find Jesus or be bathed in his holy spirit, just believe in him ?

I'm christian, but i do believe that one should get the best of every religion. i'm pretty sure that jesus, budha, and the hindi gods are crying when they see what some men did in their name.

This is really cool, i am taking a Humanities class and we are reading the Gita, and Upanishads right now, it's interesting to actually hear this. :) I don't understand why we can't just have tolerance in this world. I feel that too many of these so-called "Christians" don't even bother to repect the cultures and faiths of the people they walk amongst every day. I myself have friends who are agnostics, neopagans, Hindus, athiests, Muslims, Jews and many denominations of Christians. I pray all may one day transcend any hate and anger towards those who do not share our beliefs.

@sunlightblessing i read the gita, and by religious activities, Lord Krishna mean the prescribed duty of one being, from human to human duties variates widely, and so by religious activities is the sacrifices and duties of one especially at this day and age; where belief, trust, faith and love toward god is the most important even so the way you treat others as well as how you treat god, and your right there is nothing better than chanting the lord's name it's as pure as the supreme himself.

I think we all need to our bit for PEACE in the world and how can anyone renounce the possibilities in other religions unless they have at least taken the time to TRY and UNDERSTAND them not that we ever will fully but to try has to be the way forward for all of us. The forms of God are God. Christianity is a religion for less mature souls that need to be part of a group and cling to its activities and be told what to think and feel.
Hence there are less Christian yogis ( one with god ) then hindu yogis,

I'm a Dutch atheist but my girl is from India and is religious, but her family isnt whining about me having no religion and they accept it as i accept the fact they do have a religion..., but what i dont understand is: How.... how can u hate someone just by his/her religion or tell YOUR (wich actually isnt yours) God is superior blablabla ..., i think they're all drinkin a cup of coffee and laughing at us bout us argueing who's better of greater then the other..

wow, the controversy is ridiculous considering the meaning(s) of these words.... a couple years ago, i started to listen to this every morning and while running. in my humble opinion, feeling "god" is much more important than knowing about god. Whatever book you know is sure to be all you can rely on in the most desperate manner when you aren't able to or don't allow yourself to feel "god". only book knowledge is so concrete a thing to base beliefs about something/one as abstract as god on

This is really cool, i am taking a Humanities class and we are reading the Gita, and Upanishads right now, it's interesting to actually hear this. :) I don't understand why we can't just have tolerance in this world. I do not care what religion someone is, or what ethnic background they are, culture is such a unique part of our world.

@vinchenzo011 Hehehe the funniest thing I've read in ages! Mainly because the entire Christian faith is based on telling people what to do (I know, I was one for 20 years). And because God did create religion (check your bible in about Deuteronomy I think) and because Hinduism was most definitely not the first religion on this Earth. Hahaha. But thank you. I needed a laugh :) Oh and when anyone is worshipping God their 'faith' has nothing to do with anything. God is God. He sees only the heart.

"god is pure and he only sees the hearts (soul for that matter) which i agree with you however you are forgetting that region does not affect the way god sees a soul

I feel that too many of these so-called "Christians" don't even bother to repect the cultures and faiths of the people they walk amongst every day. I myself have friends who are agnostics, neopagans, Hindus, athiests, Muslims, Jews and many denominations of Christians. I pray all may one day transcend any hate and anger towards those who do not share our beliefs.

not true , god made religon of forms to suit different levels of development within mans spiritual evolution, read gita, you don't hae to follow krishna but he states clearly that the road to liberation requires various religious activities, and as far as a man can fathom god, as far then can he be unified, hence krishna says the best way is japa, repeating a name of god as a mantra until that form of god blesses you with absolute freedom, but the real highest way is kriya + guru

@sunlightblessing i read the gita, and by religious activities, Lord Krishna mean the prescribed duty of one being, from human to human duties variates widely, and so by religious activities is the sacrifices and duties of one especially at this day and age; where belief, trust, faith and love toward god is the most important even so the way you treat others as well as how you treat god, and your right there is nothing better than chanting the lord's name it's as pure as the supreme himself.

@sunlightblessing now i have one question for you, is it better to learn life from a non-materialistic way, liberated from all material desire with only the lord in mind i.e serving the lord whiles serving other with love too, along with religious values such as sacrifices (yajnas), chanting the holy name of the lord and performing prescribed duties or is it better to follow complete religion only without taking the teaching of Buddha (the 9th avatar of Lord Vishnu) in consideration

what u say is not true, this is an example of how dangerous logic can be. logic is like a lawyer, some guy was fishing, but there is a war on fish, so they make fish a schedule 1 substance, so the lawyers try to invent how he did something wrong ( killing animals and fish IS wrong ) , but he doesn't deserve punishment, that's why intellectual mind is a prison system , the matrix .
Man has an evolutionary course, and different religions for each level of that course,

not only this but a different religion for each chakra, throat chakra is where lots of philosophy and meaningless thoughts are , thoughts can lead to science and amazement but how long can you be blown away by 1 hand clapping in the woods ? then you have to come up and find another koan, a good path way , though, amazing, zen is fantastic, but each chakra has a different religion, the true religion is sat guru + kriya . guru = one with god, as jesus was .

I think we all need to our bit for PEACE in the world and how can anyone renounce the possibilities in other religions unless they have at least taken the time to TRY and UNDERSTAND them not that we ever will fully but to try has to be the way forward for all of us. Whatever happens on one side of the planet will always be seen differently from the other to understand this is a start. You only see it from where you are standing but both of you are right not wrong.
