@ blacksunapocalypse .. Thx 4 taking time 2 answer, Im glad you had a nice trip, Norway has wonderfull nature and Im sure you met some nice people. Thx 4 posting this vid. Happy new year.
Gotta walk with your thumb in the air, that way, if you don't get picked up for an hour, at least you'll be around 6 miles closer to your destination.
@Sami7685 In Norway that might mean being stuck in the middle of nowhere if you don't get a ride. It's easier to save energy and wait, rather than walk with nothing really to show for it.
@finnbjerke I hitchhiked almost the entire coastline of Norway, and on average I only waited half an hour for rides. I was even wearing camo, combat boots, I have a shaved head...etc. It was still easy! one of the best countries for it... But experiences differ, apparently.
Awesome wideo. I know how you girls were feeling there. I was hichiking in estonia and got like 8 hours of waiting in rain. And when i got in to a sweeet and warm car it was like heaven.
Hey I'm a nineteen year old female and me and my bestfriend (same age, same gender) plan on hitchhiking this summer across kentucky. Do you have any tips for us to get places fast and safe?
There are no guaranteed safe rides, but hitch hiking is generally (in my humble opinion from a little experience) reasonably safe. No idea what the scene is like in kentucky (except that they have good fried chicken) but always talk to the ride first and ask them where THEY are going, be vigilante and if there's anything to suggest they are drunk/high/evil bastards you should politely decline their offer.
i think you'd get more success if you showed more skin.

I'm going to hitchhike to Norway with my friend (we're Finnish). We'll try and get all the way to the Arctic Ocean :)

Whereabouts was this? I hitched through Norway from Oslo, alllllll along the coast, up to the Lofoten islands, and then over to Narvik.

Norway is t he worst country in Europe for hitchhiking, Norwegans are not very social, in fact they hate intruders
