  • how speical !!

  • Thats kinda cool, to have a baby putside!

  • Beautiful!

  • great idea of doing it in the backyard..and so nice to be surrounded by family

  • they could have been swimming and she started to get contractions

  • it seems that water births are really relaxing anc calming.........I don't know....I mean....I think women are beautiful when they are pregnant.....but that whole pushing the baby out......gets me a little worried....lol

  • O M G...........That is WONDERFUL!!! I could never imagine doing that, at the same time, I think it is absoutely wonderful! Congrats to the new parents!!!

  • what

  • why was she born in the hot tube? was that planned or could u not get to the hospital on time?

  • It was definitely planned. We wanted a water birth, and in our area of Florida water births are not an option in the hospital. We did also want another home birth. Josie was our third water birth at home.

  • few, i thought u were enjoying yourself in the hot tube and then.....surprise, surprise!

  • wow sadamevans89 you know nothing about birth! The baby doesn't just pop out all of a sudden, most women are in labor for up to 20 hours before they are ready to start pushing the baby out so if she wanted to get to the hospital she would have had plenty of time...

  • LMAO I'm weird? LMAO bye

  • @sadamevans89 Why would anyone want to go to the hospital to give birth? Low risk births become much more risky in the hospital, and the inant mortality rate is higher in the hospital. Birth has been so over-medicalized in hospitals and is treated so much like an emergency waiting to happen that I can't imagine why women are duped into thinking that it's the safer way to go. Hospitals want you to believe that it's safer because birth in hospitals is big business. But it's nothing but a lie.

  • When a baby is born under water, it does not take its first breathe until either its face has risen out of the water and the cold air hits it or there is a major temperature difference between the mother and water. To those that say being born in water isn't safe, what do you think the baby was in when it was in it's mothers womb? Duh. Many hospitals have water birthing tubs for mothers to give birth in, so obviously its safe. Baby Dust!

  • I hate when people are like omg couldn't that baby drown? even my grandma asked that when i said i was going to do a water birth... I just shook my head like omg grandma lol

  • Awesome lrtribe!! Thanks for sharing! You're one lucky couple.

  • No se si sea correcto que nazcan así los bebés, pero es impresionante, me arrancó una lágrima, que emoción!!!!

  • doctors don't assist. that's the whole point of a home birth. she is being assisted by a midwife, who is a trained professional. pretty much the only thing a midwife can't do is do a c-section.

for a normal, healthy birth, it's much better at home.... your risk of infection goes WAY up when you're in the hospital.

  • The baby starts breathing after she comes out of the water. Before that she was only in the water for a few seconds and the water is similar to being in the womb where they get nutrients and oxygen from the umbilical cord.

  • can the baby breath ?

  • Yeah, she's breathing just fine :)

  • The baby can breath underwater as long as the umbilical cord is attached and she receives air through that from her mother. As soon as the umbilical cord is cut though, the baby must start using his lungs.

  • amazing :) happy ness

  • I . do. not. want. children.

but I hope your kids healthy and happy ^^

  • is it easier to have a water birth?

    i might..=]

  • Christ you made that seem so easy. Wow.

You, ma'am, are one lucky lady.

  • I love this

  • Oh!

  • How nice to have the baby at home with the family around :)

I also had a water birth, and am planning on another one. That position seems to be easier than laying back. Good on you. Thanks for posting the vid xx

  • I'm so crying right now! That's just beautiful!

  • you made it look easy!! hope it is as good experience for me too..

  • thank you sharing, we are thinking of doing this!

  • great video!!! you have the whole thing??

  • why was the baby born in water?

I sdaw that on another video aswel

  • It's a different method of birth, some think it's not a shocking to the baby when it's born, it goes into a warm environment, like when it was in the amniotic fluid. It can be more relaxing for some women, and make the birthing process less stressful and easier on them. Just the woman's choice on how she wants to give birth. Quite a few hospitals have rooms with big tubs for water births now even.

  • Water is a great natural pain relief for the mother, and it makes the skin more supple, and less likely to tear. The baby then goes gently from inside the womb, into the familiar water, in a private, dimly lit space. It does not get shocked by a sudden temperature difference and bright lights. It makes so much sense for everyone involved.

My first child was born at home in the water, his dad caught him, and broke him gently out of his sac. It was an amazing, private, intimate experience.

  • ooohh i see thnx just curious bcuz im planning to do the same....

  • was there cholorine in the water?

  • just what was left over from the tap water added. probably an insignificant amount after a few hours. Birth is not sterile. 85% of the worlds babies are born naturally

  • That is a very sweet video! Thank you for posting and sharing with us all!

  • That brought tears to my eyes!....Congratulations!

  • It seemed like the baby was kind of soothed by the water. It must have felt like it was similar to the feel of the womb...warm and moist.

  • WOW THAT WAS AMAZING

  • why no labour vid??

    juz the birth vid??

  • Wow, that was...actually really scary to watch, sorry. ^_^; But your baby is so beautiful! There was a very nice shot there at the end and she looked so peaceful and happy...such a marked difference from the primal wailing babies usually do when they're first born (at least in hospitals). Do you think it was because it was a water birth? And it looked so quick - congratulations on the easy birth, and I think that was a really cool method you used.

  • My favorite birth of yours is gone...Taylors, i think it was. I was dissapointed to see that one go. You should add it back I would love to see it

  • Congratulations and thank you for posting this video. There need to be far more natural and home births on this site for kids to see, it really opens their eyes to how beautiful and strong birth is.

  • Thank you for this video.

  • I am going to give birth on the 30th! My husband and i are all very nervous...

  • dont be,iv gave birth nine times and each was amazing and my husband and i enjoyed it so much.god bless you remember every moment, dont let your memorys fade.wishing you a safe and speedy delivery..tracy xx

  • im just 9 months pregnant and im getting a water birth tooo.

  • How beautiful and wonderful!!!! Thank you for sharing this. How amazing to be born surrounded with so much love! :)

  • In the Netherlands most women give birth at home without painkillers or anything. That is tradition, hospital is for when it's to early or it's not completely going as it should be. But it is also possible to ask for giving birth in hospital. It's just what the mother wants.

  • Wow. Amazing. Good for you! So incredible.

  • Wow! It wasn't weird, doing that in front of all those people?

I might like a home water birth; still scavenging info.

  • I think it's really awesome to see a home birth video on here. Everything else is in hospitals, flat on their backs with ten thousand needles. Why do women think that's the right way to do it when humans have been having babies on their own since the beginning of time? You go, mom!

  • in the backyard???

    when happened?

was really safe give birth to a baby in the backyard?

  • Josie turned a year old last month, hot tub had fresh water at 98 degrees (body temperature), We were under the care of a liscenced midwife the whole pregnancy and would have opted out if any thing looked dangerous with the pregnancy. This was our third, other two were in birthing tub in the master bedroom. No problems with any of the 3, Some people into natural childbirth feel safer at home than in a hospital. We were very comfortable...

  • wow what a great vid. I'm glad you had such a happy birth experience. congrats!

  • Ah scratch that, nevermind lol.

  • It's safe to do that? I mean couldn't the baby take a bunch of water into its lungs?

  • baby is still getting its oxygen throught the umbilical cord.

  • They automatically don't try to breath underwater, they start breathing after they get cold, when they reach the surface

  • omg did it hurt and congratulations

  • Yeah it hurts. What in life doesn't. Im so glad I wasn't strapped to bed with IV's and other people telling me what kind of birth experience I should have. Having natural childbirth is the thing I am most proud of and it was GREAT!!! Godd luck to you too

  • Congrats!
